Oh I don't know. No one has suggested anything feasible. Oh wait a second, how about an Australian style points based system?

But which politician has outlined this system and how and when it would apply to the UK.
You see just like football, the fans have plenty of ideas, but it's the owners who decide things.
In this case get the owners (Politiciens) to tell you how and when they will implement YOUR idea?
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

I heard an interview on the BBC this morning with the ?Chairman/President? Of the NFU. He said that they would be consulting with their members and in about four weeks would come out with their view, either in or out.
However he did make a couple of points that might suggest which way they will lean.
    1) Farm subsidies. These are presently paid by the EU to British Farmers in a tried and tested system and time scale. Upon Brexit will the British Government continue with these payments or (as Politiciens do) make reassuring noises and then..........
    2) Seasonal workers. These are predominantly "foreigners" What will happen if these often migrating workers don't or are unable to cross the channel. Or if the "Brave New World" of Brexit will see these workers rounded up and thrown out of the Country.

It is only as I come accross the practical issues as those above, the more I need my Politiciens to explain how they will handle these issues.

Don't we all remember the disaster of a Middle Eastern war with no plans in place for the "Peace"

Quite rightly, the size of farm subsidies and their focus will be decided by the UK government : why do you find that so awful?

With the recent flooding in mind, maybe a UK decided policy will encourage the higher land in catchment areas to be designed to hold water so as to prevent floods, rather than to drain quickly, as now, and cause flooding.
One wonders at how much the EU decided farming incentives, have caused in flood damage.

One can understand why farmers want a high supply of cheap labour but as the UK will make its own policies there is no reason why this can't be allowed, if it is better than providing employment to UK citizens.

But do something like this and it would likely be easier for me with my French passport, to move to say, Switzerland, than to remain in the UK. Incidentally, what I'd get for my London flat would actually buy me something over there (yes, I've had a nosey :D ).
Obviously I'd be taking my savings with me... If I'm going to be living in a non-EU country, then Switzerland is more appealing than the UK :rotfl:

My understanding is that the UK as a whole loses out quite considerably due to the CAP, everyone losing through higher food prices and taxpayers losing because like all things European we are net contributors to the CAP unlike other countries just as rich as us (France anyone) who are large net recipients.

It would not appear to make sense for poorer British taxpayers to be subsidising richer French farmers but can anyone se any way within the EU structure that such obvious regressive policies could be overturned?

Even if we in the UK voted out all our MEPS for other promising to resolve tis injustice what difference would 80 odd parliamentarins out of 1000 make? Whereas of course were the policy determined at Westminster then we could easily vote down policies that the vast majority of UK citizens did not support.
    I think....
