In the event of an exit the most likely outcome for both sides is less trade with each other and more domestic production. The job losses on both sides will be less than thought because for most traded goods there is a two way flow. Eg the UK both imports and exports lots of bottled water. Instead of big job losses on both sides its more likely a much smaller loss and more domestic production and consumption for both sides.

it'll be a pebble in the pond scenario... ripples at first but soon petering out...

If we stay in we'll be 'punished' by the EU as we'll have just given away any bargaining power we ever had. It will be a green light for quicker integration and we'll have no say in it despite Remain believing we're better at the table.

There are 22 UKIP MEP's so, to a degree, we're using the democratic process to reduce our say and punish ourselves. Historically the issue of Europe has been fraught with danger for Tory MP's and I'm sure many disengage for the sake of an easy life.

If there's a remain win then I hope voting for UKIP representatives at the European Parliament will be seen for the folly it is and any Tory MP backstabbing because a colleague dared to engage fully is voted out of the UK Parliament.

the year 2000 IT problem as a real problem which, if untreated would have caused huge problems.
the fact it all went well reflects the amount of work done to correct the issues.

C'mon. Turkey is getting less and less ready for membership as the years pass and precisely none of the chapters for aquis have been negotiated.

If it came to it, and I don't see why it would, the UK could quit the EU faster than Turkey could join even after the aquis had been agreed.

2 days ago Cameron was asked outright whether he would veto Turkey membership. He declined to answer.

The earlier video shows quite clearly he would welcome it.

    Great.

As Mr Cameron has said he'd step down as PM before the next election and Turkey is a minimum of two decades away from EU membership I think we can safely discount his views on the matter.

I don't think so, I used to work in the aerospace industry and the consensus was a bit of scaremongering going on.
My tv and computer were fine, despite people saying things would go wrong with them....
