There will be a recession.
You should get ready for it.
Explain to me why there won't be a recession?0 -

I'm interested in your reasoning.
So we're definitely going to be trading just on WTO terms?
There are no other options available?
Martin Howe QC (an expert on EU law) stated that our existing free trade deals made whilst a member of the EU will remain in place even after we left the EU. You can see his reasoning in the report he wrote, I believe it's on fullfacts.org.
So that would mean that we don't, as you suggest revert purely back to WTO terms, we would continue to benefit from around 50 free trade deals already in place. You also conveniently leave out the 2 year negotiation period with the EU where it's possible to negotiate a trade deal with the remainder of the EU, it's good for them and it's good for us. Or do you dispute that?0 -

for the same reason that there WASN'T a recession when we DIDN'T join rhe euro, inspite of all the great and good saying we were doomed unless we joined.0 -

You show me a source who says there will be a recession since it's you claiming that there will be one as far as I can tell, no one else.0 -
I don't care if there is a recession.
In fact I hope there is.
Recessions are good. They clean out the deadwood and give us a fresh start. Exactly what we need.0 -

You see, at least that is honest and realistic.
There will be a recession.
Get ready for it.
I hope you are not the dead wood0 -

Who says you'll be trading on supposed WTO terms? The head of the WTO was interviewed on Five Live this morning and stated that in his opinion the UK would not be trading on WTO terms.
I guess you understand how trade talks work better than the head of the WTO.
Good on you.0 -

I haven't been the deadwood in any of the previous recessions I've lived through and I don't plan on being in the next one.
Recessions are an economic certainty despite what Gordon brown says. Regardless of whether we leave the EU or not , we will have a recession.0 -
The head of the WTO was apparently in London today to inform us how UK exporters will have to pay up to £5.6Bn in duties should we leave the EU. (Note the 'up to')
http://news.sky.com/story/1708309/brexit-could-cost-uk-exporters-5-6bn-a-year
This confirms the 4% WTO tariff the EU will apply.
So, we're minus £5.6Bn on our exports but plus £9Bn on our net contribution to the EU.
Where's the problem?If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

Good on you.
Your pal setmefree2 says we'll be trading just on WTO terms.
You need to stop trying to take a dig at me personally and look at what's being said.0
