If we vote for Brexit what happens

Our local bureaucracy will be much better than the dirty foreign bureaucracy.
clearly you deeply despise the UK but my point is not personal to any particular nationality but simply the recognition that EU agreements must be supported by 28 countries plus the EU parliament.
The priorities of each country are different and so the result will not necessarily be in the best interest of the UK.0 -
Do the exit campaigners have any credible details on what may happen for free movement if the UK leaves? Will UK citizens still be able to retire to warmer European climates? What will the mechanisms of this be and how would it be reciprocated if so?0

I know this is an alien concept for you, but if we leave the UK parliament will decide issues about movement of foreign people into and out of the UK.
As we have a democracy, the rules may change over time.
What the separate countries of the EU decide will be up to them just like it is for USA, Canade, Aus, NZ, S Korea, Turkey and the other 160 countries of the world.0 -

AFAIK no one has suggested that anyone with a current right to stay in the UK would be asked to leave - no idea if this would be reciprocal (but it would probably be good for the UK if those with the financial where withal to afford to retire abroad repatriated their money, not such good news for those countries where they currently reside).
There is also of course a two year transitional period before anything would happen.I think....0 -

So we'll go back to the days when only the rich could afford to retire in Europe.
The current rules for non-EU residents in Spain for example say you have to have half a million euros + cash (not mortgaged) property, or a million in cash, or 2 million in stocks.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

I was asking more for future retirees than current ones (though those are a concern too). People who are a few years away from retirement who have plans to move to a warmer location in Europe probably want some firmer details on what the proposed outcome for that situation is. Is there anything firmer proposed around this situation from the leave camp?0 -

The leave camp hasn't a clue about what would happen.
They can't even agree within themselves what they want to happen.
Some want to stay in the single market which means accepting we pay the same fees as now and keep free movement.
Some want to leave the single market and try to negotiate an inferior trade deal, which means the massive cuts to GDP modelled by the treasury, and severe negative impacts to employment, tax revenues, deficits, etc.
Others haven't even bothered to think it through....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

By the way more UK citizens manage to emigrate outside the EU than inside and people migrated without issue for years before free movement. We're quite capable of getting residency or work permits.0 -
To retire to the UK as a foreigner right now you need a substantial independent income (defined as £25,000 a year) and have a 'close connection' with the UK (e.g. have family there or own substantial property).
In Aus you need to have assets of AUD750k which you invest in Australia (AUD500k if you settle in regional Aus) plus an income of at least AUD65,000 a year plus sponsorship from a State or Territory.0
