The article you linked to says clearly it's all above water.

Would you be equally outraged if a British or Irish trawler got a fishing quota in the Baltics?

I would think it reasonable for the people of the baltic to decide their own fishing policy in their territorial waters and the UK to decide theirs in our territorial waters

Because of course fish never cross from our territorial waters into any other country's territorial waters.

    Very patriotic these British fish...

If you want to make a point why not simply do so rather than this nonsense.

I am no fisherman maybe fish do stay quite 'local' but that sort of thing is surely an argument for cooperative policy rather than everyone making local democratic decisions which could mean no one wins and no objective can be achieved.

There must be quite a lot of cooperative policy or tasks which work better together than apart. Maybe space and science funding/research is another. Little England might not have the resources to have a foot in the space industry but a Europe of 500 million probably could. Likewise multi-billion dollar science experiments like the LHC probably need a larger body to share costs.

could be argued this stuff can be done/shared outside of europe but who is going to decide what gets funded/done the group of 450 million or the group of 50 million?

thee are no obstacles to scientific collaboration for major scientific endeavour that require

-an agreed level of VAT on insulation products
-a 28 member cabal to decide UK laws
-an inability to expel violent foreign criminals
    etc.

as you know Cern predates the EU and there is no requirement to be a member of the EU (or even Europe) to join the research.
LHC is an excellent illustration why there is no need to be a member of the EU.

Can you imagine the chaos if at midnight of referendum day it is announced we are leaving the EU but "we have yet to work out how we do it!"

Yet, this is exactly what would happen. Probably along a political crisis and a new Prime Minister.

Am I alone in thinking the BBC news was very one sided this morning?

They showed a significant chunk of Alistair Darling's speech as the lead story of the 11am bulletin, but no balancing story from the leave side.

Sky News balanced the story by showing Farrage returning his corrected copy of HMG's propaganda book to Number 10.

Equally you can argue that the past 2 Question Times have had 3 Leave against 2 Remain on the panel..
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

after brexit I can absolutely guarantee that
-the world will continue spinning as the same rate as today (approx)
-that my shower will produce clean hot water
-my CH will function as per normal
-the shops will have plenty of stock
-people will go to work as usual
    -trade will continue uninterrupted

-however, after a while, many EU countries will start to question why their unemployment is so high and start to look for alternative economics models

    Europe may bloom again

If we vote brexit I will personally see to it that your shower will not produce clean water (it will still be hot though)
