Hilarious. I won't be posting for a while as my sides have split.
Typical example of the reasoning of some remainers TBH.

Which was not aided by your grumbles regarding the use of "Remoaner" when in the next paragraph you yourself use the terminology "Brexiteer":
    Dictionary.com defines the suffix -eer:
a noun-forming suffix occurring originally in loanwords from French ( buccaneer; mutineer; pioneer) and productive in the formation of English nouns denoting persons who produce, handle, or are otherwise significantly associated with the referent of the base word ( auctioneer; engineer; mountaineer; pamphleteer); now frequently pejorative ( profiteer; racketeer).
The final note ("now frequently pejorative") may be at play here: new coinages that use -eer in lieu of -er may be an attempt to imply a negative judgment about what is being described. In this case a brexiteer is not merely "one who brexits" but also implies that the coiner of the word considers brexiting to be undesirable.
So "Brexiter" may have been more appropriate.
    "Pot", "kettle" and all that.

Hmm, I always thought that Leavers liked the term 'Brexiteer' as they think it sounds dashing, like the Three Musketeers. For me, people are either 'Remainers' or 'Leavers', as I cannot stand the term 'Brexit'.

Is 'Brexiteer' insulting then? To my view it describes someone who is very intent on Brexit. I don't see how it can possibly have any negative connotations but being as you've informed me that it is an insult then I shall try my best to stop using it.

Just out of interest I would be keen to learn what you feel is so insulting about the word. It very clear why 'remoaner' would cause offence but not 'brexiteer'.

I thought the point I was agreeing with was the strong Euro € Country's would become the Premiership and the rest would stay in the EU but leave the Euro and form the Championship.
Many smaller countries might then want to join the Championship trading group.
We live in interesting times and after the last 12 months I realise nothing is impossible.

That is certainly what I was suggesting. The Premier Euro Zone might have its own currency as might the Championship Euro Zone. Also a nation could decide to have its own currency.

Once founding principles fall by the wayside. Then so will the entire project. Empires rise and fall.

I agree some things that theyneed to consider might break the empire. But it is probably going to break one day anyway. So perhaps those who have invested in the EU project might be better reviewing those principles.

FoM is a good example, I doubt most people would be bothered about FoM if there was an element of border control and if there was some concept of balance in the numbers moving around EU.

The problem they have is that Euroland is too big to allow FoM without control. But suppose you abolished Schengen and allowed nations or groups of nations to determine whether they wanted a common border with FoM within it. For example the Benelux nations might be content with this, maybe Spain/Portugal/France too. Equally, you could allow some form of FOM but with border controls that relied on evidence of being self-supporting, having work etc.

But clearly this would be a fundamental change in the principles of the EU.

It is probably arrogant to think that Brexit could initiate such a change but who knows.

Tell me, in your world, what rights do those who voted to remain have in discussing the terms on which we Leave the EU?

Ah ok. Sorry I hadn't realised we now made decisions based on how many people turn up to a protest.

Good to know you're confident that more than 17million will turn up though.

Oh well a poll in the guardian is definitely the way we should run the country.

Especially a poll which seems to suggest taking a course of action which may not even be possible.

I wonder how many of those so opposed to the no-deal scenario have actually got any idea what that actually means. Perhaps we could ask them all what the *maximum* tariffs involved actually are, where they could be applied and what alternative arrangements countries use instead.
I'm sure they would be able to tell us.
