You go on, Snowflakes, only you can save us all now, with your ridiculous lack of self awareness, save us all!
The only person lacking self awarness, that we need to worry about, is trump and the fools that think he will bring about heaven on earth for Britain after leaving the EU.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -
Just heard that Mrs May will trigger A50 on March 9th. For the life of me I cannot find the reference anymore. Has anyone heard this.
Hopefully it is a leak from number 10. Wonderful if it is as the process will begin earlier than I thought.
Edit.
March 9th is a Thursday. Is there any reason that this day would be a good day.
Everyone knows that - it's not a secret.
It's because there is summit in Malta.Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0 -
What makes me laugh is the brexiteers banging on about 'remoaners'.....I'm sure Farage and Cash and Redwood etc would have accepted the result as the democratic will of the people if it had gone the other way.;) Also an ongoing attritional battle can still force concessions from the hard cliff edge brexit and make it a tad less disasterous....if the Lords can do something useful power to their elbow!..... so the protesting continues! Why wouldn't it....it's my country too.....I just happen to believe our best interests are best served being as close as possible to our neighbours and not surrendering our tarrif free access to a huge market on our doorstep.
Corbyn wants to scrap the HoL - so maybe they will just abolish it?Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0 -

When?
House of Lords - 20th February 2017.(2 day debate)
It would appear that the HoL is going to put up a fight and try to keep us in the single market and the customs union according to Lord/Peter Hain (Newsnight Wednesday)
Much Ado About Nothing?
Why do people persist using the term 'remoaner'? Do they think that it's clever or witty? Quite frankly it's neither. It is, however, insulting and rather lazy.
I, like millions of others, voted to remain because I think that that was the best course of action for our country. That doesn't mean that I consider those who voted to leave as idiots and I certainly wouldn't go around posting insults about it because I respect the decision.
The idea that all Brexiteers would simply have accepted the result is laughable and, in fact, there is a video of Farage on the day of the referendum stating that if the result was close that he would demand a re-run. There is no way on earth that the whole idea would have been put to bed now had the result been the other way.
I, and the vast majority of Remainers, have fully accepted the result. It was a democratic process and we have a winner. I desperately hope that it will be proven to be the right decision in the end but I have my doubts. Now that we're in the process of 'taking our country back' I expect to be allowed to voice my doubts without being called a remoaner. That's the democracy that it seems millions of leave voters think was missing from our country since the 1970s so why all of the moaning from that side when I try to use it?0 -

AIUI the plan is that if the HoL sends the Brexit Bill back then May will simply stuff the HoL with Brexiteers, Long Live Democracy!0 -

I had a lovely tour of the parliament building in Wellington a couple of years ago whereupon I learned of this episode in Kiwi politics.

Yes. You're right.
Although the term is uncannily accurate. If I don't reply to your post,

In what way is it accurate? From what I've seen, those who voted to remain are not moaning but are pointing out that they disagree with statements coming from the leave camp. I obviously know people who voted on both sides of the debate but I don't know anyone who hasn't accepted the result. Quite the contrary, people just want to get on with it now.
My viewpoint is that if someone is so narrow minded that they persist using 'remoaner' then I have to assume that they're very childish and it diminishes any impact of the rest of their thoughts. Perhaps that's not the right course of action but it's my natural view.0 -
