If we vote for Brexit what happens

I realise it is unlikely, I was just speculating. Say the EU were to abolish Freedom of Movement? I only ask the question because some people think the EU is about to collapse or undergo fundamental change.
I don't see how it ultimately makes any difference what the internal rules of the EU are or become.
What are you suggesting? They would theoretically drop FoM internally, but then still demand it as part of our negotiation?
It doesn't make any sense.0 -

Otherwise why bother, frankly?
Since much will remain as before.0 -
I do not disagree with the view that the EU is in difficulties or that it needs to change (Britain could have been a catalyst for that change, but that is not the issue now). But I do think that too much effort has been invested in generating a single currency to just throw that away that there may be a series of transitions within the EU27, rather than the collapse that so many of the evangelical Brexiteers want to see.
So for example we might see some non-Euro nations exits, a core of the more stable Euro economies (Euro A) form and the rest form a Euro B.
That's a very interesting thought.
A group of Premier Countries and below that the Championship.
It's certainly working in football with those in the Championship desperate to get promoted to the Premiership.
The Premiership has got richer and richer leaving all other soccer nations financially in the dust.
Yes I like the idea. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
That would be pointless. The decision has been made.
However, it would be interesting if in two years time the EU27 had set in train some reforms that made the EU more palatable and said "this is the best deal we are able to offer, but if you want to change your mind and remain a member we would be quite happy for you to revoke A50, we will even wait for you to hold another referendum" What would be do then.
Interesting point BobQ, but the Judges have ruled that triggering A50 is irreversible that's why Parliament MUST agree so that it can be triggered. Afterwards if Britain wanted or the EU wanted Britain to rejoin Britain would have to apply.
Present rules say that any new applicants would have to agree in due course to adopting the Euro. Rules of course can always be changed but at the moment that particular rule would be very hard to change as it would undermine the Euro.
When, not if Britain leaves, that's it I am afraid. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
Just heard that Mrs May will trigger A50 on March 9th. For the life of me I cannot find the reference anymore. Has anyone heard this.
Hopefully it is a leak from number 10. Wonderful if it is as the process will begin earlier than I thought.
Edit.
March 9th is a Thursday. Is there any reason that this day would be a good day. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

You could of course argue that the current EU is the premiership and all the EEA/EFTA countries are in the championship.
And yet no such clamour for promotion exists. How strange.0 -

I thought the point I was agreeing with was the strong Euro € Country's would become the Premiership and the rest would stay in the EU but leave the Euro and form the Championship.
Many smaller countries might then want to join the Championship trading group.
We live in interesting times and after the last 12 months I realise nothing is impossible. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Be good if this one can fall soon, so without bloodshed, for a change.0 -

I heard the plan is to time it just before the Dutch elections to try and help the Dutch nationalists.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0
