If we vote for Brexit what happens

Thing is, wherever he stands on the Brexit thing, he'll still want what's best for the UK and himself out of it.
Would you rather negotiations were being dealt with by someone who was competent & experienced, or someone who was enthusiastic?
I will settle on someone enthusiastic and experienced:)"I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers."0 -
But incompetent?0

given Roger's was Camerons chief negotiator , in what way is he deemed competent ?0 -
Well no, I am just being polite. Or flippin trying to be!
To be fair, I just think this has all all happened without too much planning, and the reality is, that no one knows what the outcome will be.
Do YOU?
in general, I find that I'm not very good at predicting the future : I'm much better doing the hindsight thing.
So no, I don't know what the state of the EU will be in five year, nor do I know the state of China nor the USA nor of the UK.
I do know that there is no NEED for a disruption in UK-EU27 trade but that is largely in the hands of the EU elite. They can chose to do the best for the people of the EU or to damage their own economic prospects out of political spite and incompetence.0 -
There's definitely no need to disrupt UK-EU27 trade, but the ability to do that lies primarily in the hands of the UK to screw up due to political spite and incompetence.
Of course, you're preparing to blame everything on the EU elite anyway.0 -
Well Brexit has happened. This hasn't done and never will be good for U. I am upset the fact that people voted for Leave purely on the basis of immigration. Yes, immigration is an issue but tell me name of one country where immigration isnt' an issue.
Only if people realised what EU was, I am worried that UK is no longer a powerful nation, instead a little puppet. We lost London as a financial centre, what more do we want? Really what more do we want.
EU was not just immigration, it was far greater. We just disliked the immigration aspect and decided to kill an ant with a chain saw. Totally unnecessary.Bank accountsSantander : 17 year relationship, 0 problems to date.0 -

In my view, the UK will take the view that trade is mutually beneficial and that trade without tariffs is even more mutally beneficial.
I suspect that the EU27 will not agree to implement such a scenerio but for political rather than economic reasons.0 -
Everyone is of the view that tariff free trade is beneficial, but I think you're grossly overestimating how much sway the UK holds in terms of trade with EU27. Will the Greeks care about how much we spend on EU cars?I suspect that the EU27 will not agree to implement such a scenerio but for political rather than economic reasons.
You mean they won't let us have our cake and eat it? Of course they won't.
If we want full access to the EU club, then we have to play by the rules. No amount of posturing about mutually beneficial trade will change the fundamental basis of the EU, especially from the outside.0 -

That's what I said: the EU27 will make decisions based on political objectives rather the economic ones.
I'm not sure why you think mutually beneficial trade is having our cake and eating it ; it seems the 'normal' situation of trade all over the world.
I don't want full 'access' to the club : just trade.0
