Also, a member of the EU negotiating team Guy Verhofstadt has tweeted offering his congratulations. The EU has no place involving itself in democratic elections in the UK and is deliberately inflammatory. I voted remain and it even annoyed me.

Politicos eh?
They manage to scr*w most things up.
Give a politician a rubiks cube to solve, and they would organise a committee to decide the best way to peel off the stickers!
If they left the core negotiations to negotiators in the early stages, we would all be better off.
Then, there is all this conjecture on A50.
NOBODY has tested whether the A50 process works yet! Nobody has said how it should work alongside a host of EU elections during the same time period. It might just be a case of feel your way along.
I reckon any half competent divorce lawyer will be able to tell us all how things will work : lots of early shouting; tears and tantrums; than a pragmatic realization that they have to sort something out in the time available.0 -
If the government were so keen to discuss the status of UK citizens living in the EU and vice versa they would've triggered article 50 already.
Trying to shift power from parliament to the government/ tories is the sole reason why it hasn't been triggered already.
Politics trumps concern over almost all the issues.0 -
I demand a re-run in Richmond, a 49% majority on a 50% turn-out is not good enough, plus the voters were lied to
Leave won c70% by Constituency on a higher turnout proportion
You've already said if the referendum had gone the other way you would've been pushing for a second referendum so I can't work out if you're rubbish at irony or brilliant.0 -

indeed that is true
with a sovereign parliament the people of the UK can vote the politicians out: in the EU there is no effect way of the people of the UK voting the politicians out.0 -

Yes it is true. Try and remember that when you're trying to naively imply it's only the EU that could possibly negotiate from a political agenda.with a sovereign parliament the people of the UK can vote the politicians out: in the EU there is no effect way of the people of the UK voting the politicians out.
Yawn. We're leaving the EU; who cares?0 -

I have little regard for all politicians ; politicians put politics above the welfare of the people
that is why democracy is important and why we need an effect way of getting rid of them

I sincerely hope you are correct but I think its a 50-50 situation.0
