Nissan to build new models in Sunderland

That's because we've had to agree to cover any eventual net costs caused by being outside the single market.

If the EU imposes 100℅ import duties on Nissans made in the UK, and Nissan decide to sell 100 million cars there, that's what we are now liable for.

Of course by the Brexitwit standard of consecutively fcking absolutely everything up, I suppose that does look like a win for you.

This morning I had to let a chap in to fit a carpet. When finished he was having a fag on the drive and I bought up Brexit, thinking he looked like a good Brexiteer.
How does a good Brexiteer look like?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

WOW - GlaxoSmithKline has collected a £1 billion windfall from the collapse in sterling, making it one of the biggest winners since the EU referendum.

I'm guessing GSK pay tax on that!

Thats small change to GSK - and as a brexit voter I'm not sure I'd celebrate the pharma industry making loads of profit out of it. Taxpayers money in the UK is a cashcow to them and they treat us like fools compared to other countries.

This won't be a surprise to a brexiter though. It's what many suggested should happen. Same with farmers subsidies. Use the money we save to bolster farmers, maybe in a different way.

It's merely investing in the future. No different to reducing corporate taxes etc to tempt people here.

His main and starting point was his fear business would move abroad.

He actually bought up Nissan right off the bat, and I said in my usual over-excited manner than business won't be leaving. Makes todays Nissan announcement all the sweeter.

Great news for Sunderland and supply industry jobs ! :)

However, why would a business that has a highly complex technical operation, composing of delicate and sophisticated robotics, I.T. plant machinery and supply chain place move away ? Any decision was probably less to do with Brexit and more to do with common sense. I would not see that as a "Brexit win".

The last 3 months you have been on remainers case for saying we are blaming everything that goes wrong on Brexit. Don't think you can get away with suggesting a few positive business cases are due to the worst decision the U.K. has ever made.

0.5pct growth can be attributed to staycations this summer alone. Just a blip, it is the longer term we need to consider. I suspect that we shall see greater negativity than good as time moves forward.

I doubt it will even happen. (and this may well be why in part they are staying, maybe they officially know something we don't)

By the way.. We are still in the E.U.just a reminder

So a MAJOR remoaner prediction that Nissan and others would be shunning UK investment, shudders to a halt, and you now suddenly imply this was known all along

    Incredible revisionism.

    From the very 'expert' I've warned about several times in the past;

Nissan is an early sign of the downturns and the divisions Brexit could bring

it makes perfect business sense to put all investment in the UK on hold for the next few years.
This will be the timeframe to get some clarity on trading relationships with Europe and the rest of the world.
Vauxhall are possibly looking to move production from Ellesmere Port to Poland.
If UK finance companies lose passporting rights they are going to move to Europe. London pays as much tax as the next 37 largest cities combined btw......
This is the tip of the Brexit iceberg.

Choosing to stay in a highly technical factory you built the last decades is not rocket science it is common sense. They have probably tooled for these vehicles way, way before Brexit.

You are making a Brexit mountain out of a common sense mole hill.

I suppose you have to grab on to what you can for a win though so don't blame you for it.

Making cars is one thing, best not to make that process more expensive. Selling them is another.

Nothing will happen, the transition will be seamless, trade will never be allowed to be hampered. FTSE 250 investors are very confident about Britain's future. I guess you know better.

Got to be a way to make this bad news... think, BBC, think!
