Hey setmefree2, I've been meaning to ask you something.
You were a strong remainer, very opposed to leaving, your posts spoke of the economic harm etc.
You now seem to be behind getting on with Brexit and looking for the positives. What made you change?
I know I'm 'extreme' brexiteer, and probably you think my claims are far too rosy.0 -

In the interest of objectivity:government "support and assurances" allowed it to decide to make the two new cars in Sunderland
So yes, it's not doom and gloom as those who advocate remain propose, but it's not blue sky either.0 -

We were promised the EU would 'lure' business away. I for one always argued that we would respond with our own interventions and that 'reality is not set in stone, we sculpt it'. Banks will not be lured into the EU, other than on a very small scale.
There will be no loss of trade0 -

And university applications from Europe down 9℅.
Another great day in Brexit Britain.

Yes, I would agree that we'll be in a fight to retain the business we currently have and also to win new business - trading Britain has ever been thus.
I was just wanting to temper attitudes, to bring remain in from the hysterical and to bring brexit in from the over-confident.
Pragmatism will and should win the day.0 -

I was only ever 60-40 Remain so it's easy for me to get behind Brexit as I do see the positives.
Sometimes you have to make strong assertions on forums to illicit a response from other posters....I value other people's opinions. As a Remainer the posts from Brexiters really helped me understand the issues.
And I love My Country & I want us to be successful. (I'm sure Moby and RT will hate that since I'm guessing that hate patriotic English folk - it's ok to be a patriot if you're Welsh, Scottish or Irish of course)0 -
This morning I had to let a chap in to fit a carpet. When finished he was having a fag on the drive and I bought up Brexit, thinking he looked like a good Brexiteer. Turns out he's an arch remainer. Bingo, I said to myself.
His main and starting point was his fear business would move abroad.
He actually bought up Nissan right off the bat, and I said in my usual over-excited manner than business won't be leaving. Makes todays Nissan announcement all the sweeter.0 -
WOW - GlaxoSmithKline has collected a £1 billion windfall from the collapse in sterling, making it one of the biggest winners since the EU referendum.
I'm guessing GSK pay tax on that!0 -

Indeed good point, A UK grower would be aware that dumping is also a threat to their expansion. They will need to convince their friendly local Bank Manager of the viability of their expansion plans. Would you advance the loan?
Perhaps the Government need to think outside the box and start guaranteeing loans for British businesses to take advantage of all the new opportunities. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0
