As a Brexmonger just mentioned above Mays plan to be out of single market and to stop freedom of movement which according to at least 1 Brexmonger above is not what they want.

That is just 1 thing wrong with it.

Although it could be argued that given UKIP have been instrumental in the "They come over here take our jobs blah, blah, blah...." that prospective Brexit voters should have understood they did not know what they were voting for exactly but felt voting for the unknown was better than peace, good trade, decent living standards etc. A mind bogglingly poor decision at best, deeply incomprehensible and highly risky voting strategy at worst.

Frankly, May seem pretty clueless right now.

I still feel no Brexit is the best move the U.K. could make and I suspect that irrelevant of what the 52pct think it may still not happen. When the gargantuan damage that will occur is understood at the time of triggering A50 I suspect it simply will not happen. be it on that persons head forever. Even May does not think Brexit is right...it's a right old mess.

A few articles and May statement to digest:

She's doing what MP's should do.

It doesn't matter what she personally thinks about it she's executing the will of the people of the UK, we voted to leave, and we're leaving. Good on her for doing that.

We will maintain as much access to the single market as possible. As a leave voter I would be happy with EEA/EFTA.

Her stance pre-referendum shouldn't be a cause of concern for you, it should be cause for hope of a median result in negotiations. She recognises the risks but also that the people of the UK have voted to leave the EU. No one voted to leave the single market, I'll back the remainers up on that. That option certainly wasn't on my ballot paper.

Indirect protectionism within the great and free single market?
    Surely not.

I chose my examples carefully. ABS, LED lights in producing factories and short working weeks. Easier to argue they're protecting the safety of citizens, protecting the environment and protecting workers.

I feel safer knowing there are EU standards about antibiotics in chickens, hormones in beef and pesticides in produce and they apply whether the product was produced in the EU or Viet Nam.

The cat's out of the bag.......what Theresa really thinks about hard brexit!

The crucial passage reads: “I think being part of a 500-million trading bloc is significant for us. I think, as I was saying to you a little earlier, that one of the issues is that a lot of people will invest here in the UK because it is the UK in Europe. “If we were not in Europe, I think there would be firms and companies who would be looking to say: do they need to develop a mainland presence rather than a UK presence? So I think there are definite benefits for us in economic terms.”

So .....she's saying one thing to the Tory conference....throwing red meat to the loons and another thing to Goldman Sachs in private!

What will the Remainer Cult say when a good trade deal agreement is delivered?

FACT; It is obvious ... it goes without saying that a perfectly good trading relationship will be settled upon.

Um, no. We already had a good trade deal agreement and I voted remain to keep that believing we would be worse off without it. So unless any new trade deal is significantly better than what we already had then I and many others will have been proven correct and Brexit will have been proven as a huge mistake.

Trade will not be hampered, quote me on it.

Can we quote you on that like we can quote your pronouncement that the pound wouldn't fall?!?!? :rotfl:

Cant see pound falling anyway, as I kept on saying after the last crash our safe haven investor status if anything will be enhanced not diminished

Er ........... you do realise that this (supposedly secret) discussion was in May this year?
And that there has never been any other understanding than that Theresa May was pro-remain before the referendum?
So enlighten us; what would you expect a remain campaigner at that time to say?

Remain campaigners really are struggling to keep up project fear when this is the level of attempted propaganda.

    Exactly.

What did she say when you spoke to her? I'd be interested to know.

You are absolutely correct in the examples you selectively highlighted.

I am confident that UK standards would be at least equally as robust and where we decided to require higher standards of regulation, importers would of course have to suck it up.

Errr....she just so happened to give a different message to the conference than she did to Goldman Sachs and this speech has just been published. Saying different things to different audiences. By the way she was regarded as a very reluctant remain campaigner, who was really playing both sides! So what does Brexit actually mean ............we still know naaaathing!....what's the plan Theresa....?
