EU exports are 14% of EU GDP
So what % of EU GDP is exported to UK?
3%, so they will be shaking in their boots........Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

Why don't you go live in Poland then? Where you can enjoy the tolerance & zero racism that Eastern Europe is so famous for.0 -

Tricky will be along shortly to explain you that the audience consisted of approx. 130 members of which 59 booed which is 0.000085246% of the population, therefore your post is pure....Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

Was she booed because she is Polish or because her words were a slur on the people of the UK.0 -

I think she was booed for being a first class idiot.
My growing dislike for the dripping 'furrerner' unable to understand the concept of democracy is only trumped by my equal dislike for our homegrown ethno-masochist 'remoaners'.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

.
She was not booed. Members of the audience objected to her characterisation of the referendum vote as meaning that 52% of voters no longer wanted her in the country.0 -
Some say the Germans will sacrifice car sales to UK for the sake of EU political project, yet in all the online papers today I see German car promotions. Doesn't look like a retreat to me, they want that trade.
UK people will buy German cars even with a 20% price rise. For some it might even be a bonus since it means the riff-raff can't drive BMW's too.
Lets face it, most new car purchases, particularly from the German prestige brands, are done via finance, and people are only looking at a monthly payment that covers the depreciation. We're realistically looking at that new 3-series costing maybe an extra £20 a month, or a longer leasing term.
They already sell cars despite there being cheaper (and better) options for the price sensitive and discerning buyers, so a smallish price hike won't affect sales much. If car sales drop, it'll be across the board due to other factors, like a recession, and not a 10% tariff (which currently already applies to Chinese/Korean/Mexican/Japanese imports).
Plus, you seem to be assuming that the EU will agree to 100% tariff free trade with the UK, when they could negotiate a 0% tariff on cars, and keep a tariff on anything else.
I'm also surprised that you think we hold the upper hand when we account for 3% of their export market, and we rely on them more than they rely on us.0 -
I understand that 48% of the people that voted explicitly voted to discriminate against the people of black africa and asian countries and others in favour of people from white, christian european countries. They have no shame.0

the increase in price of products does NOT mean that ALL people will stop buying them.
It means that in general FEWER people will buy them
as a result of an decrease in the value of the pound one would expect sales of imported products to fall and of home produced to rise.0
