Oooh some good bargains and alterations going on round here!

I myself ordered some dresses in a sale, with an event in mind that I have to go to in September that I feel nervous about. I know the reason I wanted a new dress was to give myself some confidence. Anyway they came yesterday and whilst I like two of them, they are more what I would wear to work. So I need to parcel them up and send them back really. I wonder why I think a new dress is needed? I think this is about my weight again. I will be seeing people I haven't seen in a while and I'm not feeling good about myself. Maybe they will whisper 'no wonder he left her, look how much weight she has put on...'

You might be able to tell from the above that I havent had time to read any more of the self compassion book :rotfl:

I will have a look tonight at another dress that I've only worn once, and if I can still get in it, I will wear that to the do. If I can't get in it, I will have to come up with another plan!

I personally think you should go with the one with the safety pins - still channelling Liz Hurley :D and they'll all be whispering 'ohhhh, look at her, he was mad to leave her' (which I'm sure IF anyone were to pass comment that is exactly what they'll be saying anyway, that and 'we always thought she was too good for him anyway' ) xx

How about a little self pampering rather than spending on a new outfit (do you have to wear a dress or do you have something else you could wear like a skirt and top?). Take an evening with a nice bath, some candles, a face pack and time to do your nails - perhaps when the kids are with 'he who shall not be mentioned'.

big hugs, you're doing amazingly xx

I bought a couple of last minute dresses for my holiday - all washed & ironed & ready to pack. £8 to add. Less than £12 to last until the rest of the year :rotfl:

    Morning all
Found a couple of really good bargains so a little spend for me

    Brand new levi jeans £4
    New white stuff skirt £4
    White stuff tunic top £4
A pair of nice leggings £1.50
Cant be bad as my last Levis cost me £90 ;)

So £13.50 to add to my total spends but am pretty happy with that also got a (what looks lovely) leather jacket from Ebay but will wait for it to arrive before adding it also a dress from Ebay which will also wait to add.

Everyone is doing so well :D

At the same time I got DH a pair of shorts and when I washed them I checked the pockets and found £10 :rotfl:so shorts cost me £1 so a total of £6.95 spent so wont add it as I am quids in :D £3.05 to be exact ;)
Also had a spend up in Tikkiboo  in the 25% off sale so £54.95 to add when they get here. I blame Kerri for this addiction :D

:o:o whoops, guilty as charged Mav I've resisted the sale so far but only as I'm tempted by the new designs due out this week

Well done on your 'purchases' I would say it might have been nice to donate the £10 or the change at least to the charity shop...but given you do plenty for charity with your clothes sales, I reckon that's a bit of good karma coming back to you xx

    Hi All!

This is a great thread, but can I just ask - do you all just do it based on yourselves only? I ask as most of my clothes purchases are for my children! So I'd quite like to join in with a budget that is for the whole family.

Pepperoni, welcome. I just do this for myself, but it's your budget and I think some of the others include their children.

No more spends to report here. I have a fantastic new pair of walking shoes but they were a present from DS.
Spend less now, work less later.

    Dont worry kerri
I donate loads to this shop worth far more than £10 so feel ok about it.

The only leggings I really like from Tikiboos new range is the Cherry leggings dont think I could get away with the Pink unicorns at my age :rotfl:

Pepperoni The great thing about this challenge is you can make it work for you. So decide what your budget is for the whole of the family for the rest of this year is ie 3 months. and stick to it or come in under it and that should give you an idea for next year. Also decide if uniforms shoes etc will come in that budget. Or if its just for clothes outside of school.

This challenge is too make you think about what you are buying and if its really needed or not.

Most of the time its not really needed and we buy for the sake of it or did before we joined in here ;)

    Good luck to all
