Spent £90 in fat fa@e over the weekend on cool clothes (linen) for my holiday. Used holiday money.
I'm not being a defeatist but I am going to blow my budget this year. Too many things need replacing, or needed for holiday.
I'm not going to worry about it as my holiday clothes lasted 8 - 10 years last time. And I have been very good for the last few years.

just popping in to say hello and wish everyone well with their challenge so far. I always try and remember that sometimes its not about the final numbers but about changing the thought processes along the way so keep positive.

vintagegal thank you for sharing your story about the zip - it made me chuckle too. Reminded me of an incident in Primarni where I got stuck in a dress (stupid thing NEEDED a zip:rotfl:) and was seriously wondering if I'd have to be cut out of it. :o:o:o And of course, when you start panicking like that you immediately seem to expand ten fold too. People prob just thought you were rocking the Liz Hurley look :D

No clothes shopping for me - in fact one of my pairs of joggers got downgraded yesterday when I was painting the fence. Have been way too busy with the new house for clothes shopping and things are still a little all over the place so I don't really have my mind on clothes atm. Which is great from that budget....the amount I haven't been spending on garments has mostly gone towards boosting the profits of Screwfix though :eek::rotfl:

Congrats on your sale Mavvy & on no spends :A

I managed to go a full month with no spends. I broke that on Thursday as I found a really classic plain black lined column dress (Next) in the CS - £2.50 - it's got all of the hallmarks of something I'll wear frequently during the Autumn.

I will probably be buying a few bits & bobs over the next couple of weeks as I'm away at the end of the month & need a couple of light shrugs. If I see a nice light "day dress" and / or a cotton skirt that I like in the CS I'll pick those up too. There's nothing else I need (actually I don't really even need those :o - I will just get them if there's something especially nice at a bargain price...

Well the dress sounds like a good buy somerandom, what a bargain!
And mavvymoo, you must have an iron will to not buy anything at one of your sales with prices that low, I would have to be sedated!
Kerrigt, I have had that feeling of being stuck in something, you start to panic and sweat, its horrible... I'm glad my little escapade made you laugh though. It certainly worked to get me out of the shops.

I've started reading the Kristin Neff book and will hopefully finish it over the weekend. My only positive news on that front is that I realised I was feeling inhibited about what I shared on Facebook so - I unfriended him - because you know what? HE IS NOT MY FRIEND! I don't think he looks at Facebook much but I knew it was the right thing to do for my peace of mind. He never posts anything but I don't know if he would look at what we were up to.

Friends don't treat people like he treats me.

Got high hopes for the book so will report back as soon as possible.

No plans for going to shops this weekend except to get some flowers and a tape measure (I am so exciting aren't I). Will do some online research for sofas now that the horrible ex has deliberately bought the one that he knew I wanted

Vintagegal re: the sofa - you obviously have excellent taste and he obviously does not have a mind of his own ;)

Also, good on you for un-FB'ing him :j

Thanks Floss! He doesn't have any idea, I've been choosing everything including his clothes for the last 14 years. I am fuming he deliberately copied me though, but am trying not to let him dull my sparkle. He's done too much of that already. And I know he will never apologise.
I bet his house will look rubbish because he is the living embodiment of the phrase "money doesn't buy you style"

Hope you're enjoying the Kristen Neff book Vintagegirl. Good for un-friending exH on FB - blocking is even better - it's like they don't exist :rotfl:

I went straight out after posting this morning and spent £5.00 in the CS on something that was not on my list of items I was looking for - but was super-cute & a bargain - BNWT - Reiss wool pencil skirt (£95 price tag) - another item for Autumn.

Ordered 2 x shrugs from eBay (they were on my list of things I needed). £9.90 to add.

  • Just ordered two T-shirts from D Perkins (petites) £10.34 it cost me - both were reduced. So not going so bad i think.

Think that DH will need some new clothes soon, but will wait till the sales for them i think.

Hope all are OK and happy and conquering their own part of the world.
