Thats so true somerandom, I do still feel like I should be involved somehow, I'm struggling to let go I suppose.
I wish I knew when I would stop feeling so broken
What a shame it is that so many people seem to go through this.. I am sorry you did too.... but I am listening to you all that there is life afterwards, and I am sure that in some ways it will be a much better one. Thank you so much all of you for your support.:heartsmil
I am still pleased that I havent bought any clothes through this though, in fact I put a dress I don't wear on eBay at the weekend as I saw that one went for a lot more than it cost (cost £60 sold on ebay £310)! Will report back on friday. And if it makes anything, its going in the house improvements pot! I'm not expecting it to make that much but every little helps, AND tidies up at the same time.Fashion on the Ration 2020 - 5/66 spent0 -
Vintagegal, it does get easier, I & my DH recently had lunch with my ex & his wife, our kids & a fianc!e. He used to see them 1 w/e a fortnight. I would go out with my girlfriends on the Friday, do the housework & laundry on Saturday or any diy, and spend time with my mum on Sunday. I would always iron their school shirts at 7pm on a Sunday when they were due back home2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Not much to report but catching up on your posts ladies.
vintagegal and Clarey it does get better with time and sometimes you just have to say 'thank you to the universe for a reminder about why my ex is actually my ex'
Well done for everyone for the restrained bits of spending (and occasional not so restrained ha ha).
All I have bought is a Hobbs top and Franza cardi in a lovely bluebell colour from the chazza shop. £7 in total to add to my spends. I've sold a couple more things on Ebay and still having a sort out of clothes that don't SPARK JOY:j
It was my birthday last week and the lovely folks at work bought me a White Stuff voucher so I can have a guilt free splurge when I need it, Also I've lost half a stone now on the 5:2 so hope when I get my summer clothes out they might actually fit meCrazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000 -
Well done on the weight loss Rowan Moon, and a belated happy birthday! How lovely to have some vouchers tucked away to treat yourself.
In the past vouchers always burnt a hole in my pocket but I hope I am learning to wait until something comes along that sparks joy!
Dress on ebay is at £32.27, so I think of that as a cushion for my new lounge
9 weeks today since I bought any clothes! :A I was starting to think I needed some new ones this morning but then I realised that actually I just need to do a lot of ironing... so thats my evening mapped out then!Fashion on the Ration 2020 - 5/66 spent0 -
To be honest, my situation is a bit different. I got divorced around 15 years ago. Don't worry, I am definitely over it, in the past ex has been ok and I got used to my son going away for weekends to stay at his Dad's. The problem is now he seems to think my ds is an adult (at 16) is moving abroad and has greatly reduced maintenance ready to stop in July (despite ds still being in full time education). So lately I have got used to having my ds around full time and will be weird when/if he goes for a weekend. Although in all honesty 16 yr olds can get stroppy and I could probably do with the break!
Well done on the 9 weeks today Vintagegal! I think I could do with spending some time on ironing as well.Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930

Clarey008 maybe your ex should be reminded of his financial commitment to your DS, even at the cost of a letter from your solicitor?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good idea Floss but I think I would just lose out on the legal cost. He voluntarily gave up his job and is now living on the proceeds of his house sale till he moves abroad. So technically he has no income and he is moving to the other side of the world anyway. On the plus I've got so frugal lately with the lack of clothes shopping that I can manage and at least it has happened when ds is older, not when he was younger.Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930

I failed yesterday. Went into Tesco for a sandwich and came out with 3 shirt-dresses and a top in their sale. Spent £34.00
plus £1 on the sandwich :rotfl: That said, I'm determined to have a good clear-out and either ebay or take stuff to the charity shop (or both). I'm testing the waters again with ebay to see how much hassle I have with a pair of shoes I'm selling. If all goes smoothly and I've got some 'better' stuff to get rid of, I might stick it on there.

£2.00 spent on a plain long sleeved T Shirt yesterday.
I had an interview last week and yesterday found out I've been accepted as an "Associate Coach" for an organisation that I've admired for some time. I'm really happy and absolutely itching to treat myself to something nice as a reward!! I'm going on a long walk today along the Thames Path (in theory it should be easy not to spend today) and I will be going through some "naice" areas of South West London with some equally "naice" Charity Shops so I'm making no promises :rotfl: At least I'll be limited by how much I'm prepared to carry on my walkShifting my energy for 20200
