    Morning

No spending on clothes for me this week, so my budget is still as in my signature.

I still really want the dress though. I don't really wear dresses and the one I do have I have only worn once, to an interview, but I still really want the one I have seen. As long as I can get through today and tomorrow without buying it, I will be fine as the sale ends tomorrow :D

I spent Christmas money on clothes but I am not counting that and I can't tell you what I bought because I can't remember which shows my spending is mindless.

I have also blown my £40 per mth budget as I bought a handbag (20% off) for £28. Two packs of pants from M&S £10 and a red long sleeve tee from the CS for £2.50 which when I got it home noticed the label says 100% Merino so not too sorry about that. I also bought a BNWT pair of trousers from CS for £1.

I need to stop buying now and that will be hard with 2 more weeks of the month to go.

Still no spends so far this year. I haven't even spent my Christmas vouchers yet!

Good luck everyone. You are all now over 1/2 way over the first month.

  • I've started spending some of my budget! I had a funeral this week that was a 'bright colours' funeral but I didn't really have anything suitable. I bought a black dress with ditsy flower pattern on it for £14.50 and will get loads of wear from. Also have a meal in a posh restaurant next week but they've stated a smart casual dress code. I only have jeans and won't wear black trousers as I wear them every day at work so I got a nice Noe Browns dress in the sale for £32.50 that I will get loads of wear from. Also 2 cardigans, one black one grey at £8.75 each that, knowing me, I'll still be wearing in a few years time so don't feel too bad about that. Everything was in the sale on Very but a few days later they had a 24% of everything for 24 hours. Grrrr.

Counting up it was £64.50 if my maths is right. Here's hoping I get loads of wear from everything!

I'm challenging myself on the hanger turning too. All hangers facing one way at the start of the year and every time I put something back after washing I turn the hanger the other way. There's quite a few clothes in there to get through between now and the end of June, that's when I've set myself to bin/sell/donate those that were unworn (apart from things like linen trousers that will only be worn in the summer months if we get a summer!).

    Morning all
Trainers purchased yesterday they were my Birthday present from DH so not counting in my budget :D

But tried on a dress in the chazzer it was stunning Black and Cream vintage one hand made with a posh dress shop label in from Norwich.

It was a stunning design and cut and so well made it was slightly snug on me (well pretty snug) marked at a size 12 but we all know sizes have got bigger over the years.

But I am losing a few lbs at the moment :o
But round the neck it was a bit stained not dirt but age :( and the fabric was lovely but think it may have been silk with like a flock velverty patten on.

So doubt if I could wash it and to have it dry cleaned it would be another £10 and would it come off ?

It was only £6.99 but I WALKED OUT LEAVING IT BEHIND :eek: But not sure I did the right thing.

But hey ho its done now and budget intact :D

But I may go back or maybe not will see how I feel tommorrow ;)

I think you did the right think Mav. It didn't fit, and was damaged. As you say, the mark on the neck might not have come out. Something else thats better will come along for you

Just checking in to say no more spends on clothes this week. As I'm now quite skint till payday having paid all my bills and bought some euro's ready for a forthcoming trip away, I doubt very much I will be clothes shopping next weekend.

Mav, I think you did the right thing walking away too. It had a mark on it and you are over 1/2 way to gaining a NS month.

Another one agreeing I think you did the right thing mav - if it had fitted perfectly then perhaps I'd have said you should've bought it, but as it didn't, and it was marked it wasn't worth the additional £10 to get it cleaned. I would be dubious the marks would come out anyway from the sound of it.

No spends here, have been getting some wear out of a lovely snood my mum bought me in the Hollister sale though, I wasn't 100% sure I needed it when she bought it for me (wasn't really in a shopping mood tbh) but I'm so glad she did.
