vintagegal a big hug for you but well done for being so honest with us and yourself. It is a hard one when you feel like that :( But buying stuff to make you feel better isnt the way to go sadly.
I know as I have been there many times :(

If you have debt you need to work on that first as that will also be at the root of problem. Buy something nice and it cheers you up until you get the cc bill in. :o Then you beat yourself up about it and then back to square one !

Feeling overweight adds to it as you go to bed at night thinking about how bad you have been with food that day again beating yourself up and back to square one !

Feeling unloved only you can answer that one as it is most likely YOU not loving yourself in the first place which gets the ball rolling for you to feel everyone feels the same as you do.

You need to make changes no matter how small just in the right direction:D

You can do it ! I promise baby steps and before you know it there will be changes ;)

Feel free to pm me. I have been there and got loads of the bl**dy T-shirts :rotfl:

I think I have Marie Kondos book on my kindle so will make sure I read it.

I have just started reading this for the second time and am hoping to find some bits I missed first time around. I went through my clothes for a second time on Friday and pulled out a load that don't 'spark joy' as she puts it. My main issue is whether to just take them to the charity shop or to try and sell them.

Overall I'm doing pretty well this month as I haven't spend a thing on clothes (just wish I was doing so well on other categories :( )

  • Spent £8 on a t-shirt last night from qwertee. Qwertee tees are only available for sale for 24 hours, never to be seen again*, so I couldn't hold off on it.

That's the first thing I've bought in January, though.

*Really popular designs may make it into the 'tee shop' but once they're out of stock they're gone forever.

Was shopping again today and nearly bought a couple of tops but didn't. I wasn't 100% sure, and in one case could at the time only think of one cardi I would wear it with. It seemed a bit overpriced as it was a summer top at £12 or £13 and I only had £1 something in vouchers. Plus it was mostly white, so might not last long before it went off colour.

I'll probably be back to read my own post tomorrow when I wish I'd bought them.

    Mavvymoo you made me cry!
Thank you for your kind words and support. I really don't want to let you all down now!

Going to make a plan today to get back on the diet, need to get the right food in. Definately some of the shopping relates to me trying desperately to find something that I feel I look ok in.. when the reality is that no new dress is going to make me look 3 sizes smaller!

Will try and post again later

I am sorry I made you cry :( You will not let us down in anyway just you posting and knowing you need to do something about the place you are now is enough for us ;)

Rather than rushing out buying healthy food today. As you say make a plan give yourself time to think about YOUR demons and start a fresh when you feel its the right time :)

Think of it like going into a battle and you wouldnt even start to think about it until you had all your plans, weapons and Army in place would you ?

The reason I know what you are going though is 6 years ago I decided as you have enough is enough and I went on to lose 7 stone

I made a date and then told everybody I was starting a diet/healthy eating plan from (mine was the 11th Nov) I still remember the date :rotfl:And that was it I did join one of the big name classes and made sure I went every week. If everyone knows its much harder to slip back into bad habits.

As I took control of ME and my issues everything started to fall into place I paid off my debts then started on the Mortgage.

If you can do any form of exercise then do it.Mentally it will help you so much I now run and find it keeps that shink :rotfl:at bay ;) But get those trainers on and walk just walk anywhere it doesnt matter as N*ke says 'just do it'.

I wish you all the luck in the world and we are all here to spur you on.

If I can do it YOU can too ;)

  • Hi All - I've made a couple of purchases £14.90 - Cable & Gauge - Black boiled wool jacket / cardigan (eBay). I'm pleased with it - fits perfectly & is very smart. Would still like to find another black cardigan / jumper for more casual occasions. £1.49 for a pair of really cute grey & white spotted fingerless gloves (CS) - bought for working from home purposes :)

I returned my son's trousers to TK Maxx today & couldn't resist trying on a few things but didn't feel particularly inspired to buy anything.

You're not going to let anyone down x further to Mav's excellent advise try making little changes gradually rather than big changes all at once. Swap out a couple of the not so healthy things you normally buy for some healthier options but don't change everything all at once. Start by walking to the local shops instead of taking the car, go on a jog with a friend or try a new gym class. Something that inspires you. If it feels like a chore / obligation then you're going to end up resenting it and fall back into not so good habits.

Oh, and if you do find that magical dress that makes you look three sizes smaller, can you order a job lot for the rest of is please :D

VintageGal I'm another one who is here to say if I can do it so can you. I've lost around 5 stone since my heaviest - the last 3 of which was through mindful eating - used a hypnotherapy app which made it really easy & have now kept it off for over 3 years. Wishing you the very best with your weight loss goals. Be kind to yourself x

Mavvy kudos to you for your weight loss - very impressive.
