It just says Gel on the heel and I can't remember the exact name now. I've had them a while and they were on sale so probably being replaced by a new style.

    I need help!!

I've washed my some of my undies and a stray black sock crept in. Knickers and socks are looking an ugly dirty colour. Any solutions would be gratefully received. I have no budget to replace. Should I dye them...or cut my losses and throw them?:o

Wear them as they are until you can afford to replace.

I suggest washing everything on cold, or as close to it as possible, to avoid colour runs. I've never separated laundry in my life and never had colour run issues because I do everything at ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM 30c (bedsheets, towels), but often "no heat". As a bonus, it uses less electricity :money: most detergents these days will perform just as well on a cold wash as a hot one.

My old machine was so ancient that it only went down a far as 30, so everything got washed that way for a while but I can adjust the temperature more on my new one so it's back to cold washes for me!

In other news I still haven't bought PJs. I'm being good and they're sat in my watch list until Feb.

  • Still at a zero spend. I was given a new with tags summer shirt this week which will be handy, I was offered more but made the choice to take only this and not hoard.

I was also given a posh mini suitcase. It seems they retail for over £100! but I figure it has saved me at least £20 on buying a cheap version for my holiday.

My holiday is one danger point coming up. It's Paris in February and so my current wardrobe should work fine, but on the 'ast day we have the check out and then have a day there before our train, so packing light is important as well as not missing anything so I don't need to buy there... temptation will also be an issue...

I still haven't sold my clothes items and running out of time so may focus on that today. I have a lot of costume jewellery to go and can't decide if it'a worth trying to sell some of the nice bits or just charity shop the lot and clear more space!

It was my birthday today & I took the day off work. My son was off school with a bad cold so it limited my activity - on the plus side it meant that instead of popping to TK Maxx (in theory to take something back - but a huge temptation) I had a potter around and a de-clutter.

I've had a slight case of the birthday blues today - luckily that frame of mind makes me very focussed on my de-cluttering and the act of de-cluttering really helps my mood so at this end of the day I'm feeling much more cheerful.

So more clothes to the CS including an item I bought this year. That makes 2 out of the 3 items I bought this year going straight back to the CS :o. Not much of an issue in terms of money (it only amounts to £2) but it shows I'm slipping into bad buying for the sake of it, habits. I think I need to start asking myself if things "spark joy" before I buy them - that worked really well last year.

On going through my wardrobe I realise I'm very short of plain dark tops to go with the numerous, very pretty patterned skirts I own. I would also like to treat myself to a plain black cashmere (or other "good" wool) cardigan. I've had no luck whatsoever picking one of those up in a CS for years so I will have to resort to new. Any recommendations on reasonably priced brands welcome. :)

Most of the time I like to try and sell it first. My third bedroom is filling up with bags waiting for me to do a boot fair ( I have never sold on -line before).

Mine too! Birthday shopping trip survived with 0 clothes spend still in tact. I didn't buy much except for an Adult Colouring Book and some electric toothbrush heads (which I needed anyway and I got in the sale at Mr T's for £12.33 instead of the usual price of £18.50.)
  • Thanks GemGem & Happy Birthday to you too Kim13 - well done for controlling your spending - I definitely would not have fared so well what with the mood I was in . I ordered some things on Amazon this morning using Birthday vouchers including a Fitbit - but decided to cancel the order this eve & give myself time to think about it. :A

    Evening

    Happy birthday kim_13.

Somerandom, happy birthday and well done on the decluttering :D. Re the cashmere cardigan. I had exactly the same thought and I bought one in Macy's last November. I wore it for the first time yesterday and I was really disappointed as it covered my white shirt in black fluff. It wasn't cheap, I paid about $200 inc tax for it, so around £130, and I expected it to be wonderful. I have always wanted a cashmere cardigan but have always been too tight to spend loads of money (dollar sign sort of confused me lol, I would never have paid£130 but $200 dollars seemed like a bargain  )I can't take it back, so I will just wear it over a black top or dress. I have no idea whether it is just my particular cardi that does this or whether all cashmere does it.

Talking of black dresses, I saw a lovely one today reduced from £90 to £50. I added it to my basket and nearly bought it and then just closed down the website as I have a black dress. The one I saw was much better than the one I have, but I couldn't really justify it. I still want it though and the sale ends this weekend.
