    Hello everyone,

First update of 2016...I've resisted the Sales and kept away from shops in general this week.

January is always hard for us as my OH's work is seasonal so he has no work on until the Spring so I'm really tightening my belt this month and trying to spend as little money as possible.

I do need to go through my wardrobe soon though and see what needs throwing away. I did this challenge last year and stuck to my budget of £200 but this means that many of my tops for work are now "well worn":(

  • Still no further spends for me so my spend remains at £5. I really need to have a good clear out of wardrobes and drawers to see if I can unearth any forgotten jewels that will make me feel like I have something new.
The go-walk shoes are still on eBay so I think I will follow the lead and delete from my watch list until I really need to buy them.

No spends from me yet although I do have £20 of Laura @shley vouchers burning a hole in my pocket. They expire in Feb so I will take a look at the sale tomorrow and if I go over £20 declare the difference. If I am feeling really good I will use the vouchers to buy candles or something I can use as birthday presents.

    Evening

Other than the jeans, which are supposed to arrive on Monday, I haven't bought anything else this week. I walked through House of Fraser a few times on my way to the station from work, but didn't even look at anything as I know I don't need anything.

Don't know why I'm so proud of myself seeing as it's only 8 days into the new year, but hey ho, I am :D

Have a great weekend everyone

I never even go in Primark I just hate it :D But saying that sometimes I see nice things in the Chazzers look at the label and yes you guessed it Primark :rotfl:But I would never buy it as its normally higher priced then when it was new

dolly I am just not going to look at the relisted shoes so that should help :rotfl:and I have taken them off my watch list :D

I think if I crack this early in the year I might as well give up. I have the willpower at the moment and long may it last.

I found out the first year I did this challenge, or calculated how much I spent where, that I spent rather a lot more in there than I estimated :o

I absolutely love Primark bras. All of mine are from there. They fit me fantastically and are only like £5-8 a pop. Also means I don't feel bad about cycling them out every 6 months because I got bored of them (or, quite often, because the underwire came out. I'm far too lazy to hand-wash my undies okay)

I can honestly say I don't think I have EVER hand washed my undies. I often put bras in a net bag so they don't get caught on other stuff but they go in a 30/40 cycle with other synthetics. I jut don't feel hand washing gets them as clean...which I'm sure is silly.

In fact, I hand wash very little.

No spends from me as well. I have fat face vouchers that are also burning a hole in my pocket. I have been in two ff stores but have resisted all temptation.

    Morning all
Primark our local store is always heaving with people the stuff is pulled out everywhere and there is soooooo much stuff its just so overwelming :rotfl:and the line to pay is about 3 miles long
So I made a pact with myself not to enter and now never do as its so stressful and I dont need thier items that badly :D

But I have respect for people who do brave it as its very good value :)

Right I need running trainers :( The toes are out of mine and they are no longer supporting my ankles. So I need to bite the bullet (gulp) I have got another pair which have been lurking in my cupboard for a while same make as mine but a different style.

So wore them yesterday for a run and then knew why they had been lurking at the back of the cupboard they were awful :(

As it was my Birthday back end of Dec and DH didnt get my anything for it he said he will buy them :T Woo my zero spends should stay intact for another week ;)

Keep those eyes closed girls :rotfl:Good luck ;)

    Morning

The jeans I bought in eBay have arrived and I love them. They fit perfectly and are even the right length, which is rare for me :D

I'll be selling the ones I don't like next month when I have a new allocation of free listings.

The bigger one near us can be like that on a weekend, much better in the week if i happen to be there on a day off or the like. I did give up once when there was a massive queue but generally even if they are long, they get enough cashiers working that it doesn't take tooooo long. I've noticed some of the items deff aren't as cheap as they used to be, nor as 'well' made but it's horses for courses and the same can be applied in lots of places. There used to be free parking for an hour (2 on a Sun) at the smaller one near me which was great to pop over to, they've stopped that now which is annoying...but I guess :money: for me :D

Hope you find some trainers you like for running, another minefield - you never get the feel of what a trainer is like for 13 miles when trying them on in a shop.

I feel like this, too. All of my washing gets done on 30 or below (often no heat at all) to save on the leccy. However machine washing seems to up the risk of an underwire betraying you and trying to stab you in the heart :rotfl: had that happen to 3 in the last few months after it not happening for years. I think my machine has it in for me (or I got a couple of dodgy bras)

Actually need to go through my undies drawer and throw out the old ones after getting the new lot in now.

No spends to report yet. I feel like I should get new PJs though. I've been wearing the same ones my cousin bought since he got them for me... for Christmas 2006  that's reasonable, right? Pair of fluffy PJs out of Primarni? Only thing is I don't trust myself to go in and not come out with £70 of stuff. Maybe I'll check on the bay of E instead.

(The PJs in question are also Primark, as it happens. Still good after 9 years of wear but they aren't fluffy or especially warm and my flat is very cold. Maybe I'll still keep them regardless)
