Shala - Have your books arrived yet? I'll be interested on hearing your opinions of the Davina one, quite fancy the look of it myself!

Oh yes sorry did mean to review it...

It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I thought it may show alternatives to bread etc but it's just normal recipes without potatoes, pasta and rice.

It's broken down into sections - light bites, soups, salads, veggie/fish, poultry/meat, sides/snacks and puddings.

I'm a bit of a fussy eater though so I wasn't that keen on most of the recipes, I didn't pay for the book (free with vouchers) so even if I cook one recipe then it's ok..

There's no recipe in there that you couldn't find on the internet but that's true of most recipe books isn't it, I just like the look of them on my shelf :rotfl:

The spiralizer recipe book was disappointing as its one of those cheap ones with no pictures :( I like pictures..

I've started eating fat free yoghurt since going to SW, but I was reading yesterday that some of them have over 2 teaspoons worth of sugar!! Mullerlights in particular were mentioned. I have noticed that SW seems really harsh on foods with fat, while allowing all sorts with sugar, but that seems like a lot.

Any thoughts? I'm not sure whether to eat them now.

The ingredients list on the Alpen Lights looks quite scary too (Cereals (37%) (Whole Oats, Rice, Whole Wheat), Oligofructose Syrup (30%), Fudge Pieces (12%) (Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Condensed Milk, Palm Oil, Milk Butter Fat, Humectant: Glycerol, Emulsifier: Mono & Diglycerides of Fatty Acids, Salt), Plain Chocolate (8%) (Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Powder, Emulsifier: Soya Lecithin, Flavouring), Cereal Flours (Rice, Wheat), Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Grape Juice Concentrate ......)

    Hi all.

Have only been able to scan through the new posts, I hope everyone is well.

I have been suffering with pain on and off, the doctors thinks I have Gallstones. Have been to have bloods taken and am waiting for a scan appointment to come through.

Have loads of medication to take, which I'm hoping will get me through, but in a way am hoping it won't affect my weight loss, of course my health is more important though!

Yeah theyre not great either of them. When I got to my lowest weight I was eating really clean and avoiding things like these. I'm trying to reduce my intake again now slowly.

Jurys out for me, there is a lot of info out there and its difficult to know what to eat sometimes. I guess try and keep the processed things to minimal / treats etc. It is hard though with busy lives etc.

Strangely I read that about Muller Lights the other day somewhere too.

Thanks Shala for the reviews, I won't bother with Davina's book then lol. I'm not a Davina fan but thought the book looked good. So I'll keep my money ;)

I try to keep my carbs down to small portions BEG coz I find it effects my weight and really bloats me and if I'm going to binge on anything it will be them which is the only reason why I split them in two. I tend to look at my carbs over the whole day and try and make sure its not too carb heavy. If I don't get enough carbs I can't sleep  there is a fine line for me........with them sadly! My mother used the say the only reason I was bigger was down to the bread I ate and she was probably right to an extent.

There is a woman on Instagram who has lost a similar amount of weight to yourself and she eats whole packs of them. She must be a size 8 now and looks great. So its def what works for the individual. :T I will be sure to pass on my review of the Smoked Cheese and Pancetta when that day comes - maybe some night after getting a fab loss!!! :rotfl:

So had a STS last night, which I was expecting and perfectly happy with. After the events of last week and my little gin, bread and crisp binge that was the weekend ( much called for I might add) I can cope with a sts. :D Probably about 10 lbs off my size 12 trousers / jeans fitting comfortably again so that's motivating me to keep going as it will be a happy day when I am back in them again. I am about 6lbs off getting under my post op weight as well and that has significant meaning to me so I'm pushing now to break through that too.:D

Made a Sweet Potato & Butternut Squash Soup last night for lunch and still none the wiser about the Ryvitta but have 2 with me to go with it. Threw a couple of random Brussels in the soup :rotfl: I'm not half random at times.

A friend said to me yesterday who is also doing SW and like myself has been doing it for a long time, she was sick of these skinny people everywhere, eating their !!!!!! That made me chuckle :rotfl:

Gym bag packed and in the car for the way home. :A

Meg - If you are reading Honey I hope you are doing ok and I am thinking about you.

  • Another sufferer here Abbafan! Had a bad time of it after my 1st daughter was born 5 years ago. Was going to have surgery but then it calmed down and thankfully I've only had the odd mild attack since. Hope you can get it sorted quickly, I always said that the worst attacks I had were worse than my 2 day labour!
