Shiny new thread, with all the info carried over as follows:-

Food Optimising is a plan for life, it is not a quick fix and you should look at weight losses over a period of time. There are no prizes for speed of weight loss.

You need to commit to making changes to the food that you buy and how you cook it, because what you have been doing in the past has not got you to where you want to be.

You cannot use parts of the plan that suit you and forget the rest.

If you are not prepared to make a commitment to change the behaviour that has got you into your current situation then nothing is going to change, and above all things, you need to be honest and accountable for every single mouthful of food that passes your lips.

You need to care enough to take time out to pre-plan your slimming campaign. Look again at the menu plans and see the variety and volume of food you can eat. All you have to lose is the weight.

Slimming World has been successfully helping people lose weight for over forty years, so trust them and read your Food Optimising and Choose Success books again and again.

Food Optimising is easy but life isn't. Losing weight is a battle but you have the battle plan in your food optimising book, your secret weapon is free food, and that, together with your healthy extras and syns add up to a healthy way of eating that can (and should) be a life plan. Success is there waiting for you………go for it!

If you fancy having a go at EE, here are the official 'rules' to ensure that you not only lose weight regularly but get all the nutrition your body needs to function well:-

Extra Easy:

1: Choose your Free Food

Anything that’s Free Food on Green OR Original – so that’s pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish, fruit and vegetables – is totally Free on Extra Easy!

And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Speed Foods!

2: Choose your Healthy Extras

Each day select one Healthy Extra ‘a’ choice and one Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread and cereal.

3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day

If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check:-

1. Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free

2. Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)

3. Whether you're counting everything that should be counted

4. Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured

5. Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........

A: increase the proportion of Speed Foods to half of your plate

OR

B: switch to more Speed Foods

List of Speed foods here - Fruits & Vegetables

And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!
[/COLOR]

Red and Green plans can still be followed, however information/syns for these are no longer available in your main 2015 booklet.

Brief Overview of Extra Easy SP - this takes over from the old Success Express for speeding up your weight loss or kick starting your loss if you've hit a plateau.

Please note that this is only a brief overview as we are not allowed to copy things off the website. Please refer to your books or the SW website for a list of free foods.

Extra Easy SP concentrates on Speed foods and Protein-rich foods

1 - Choose your Speed Foods and Protein-rich foods, ensuring at least half of your plate is speed foods where you can

2 - choose healthy extras - you can have 1 Healthy Extra "A" and 2 Healthy Extra "B" choices

3 - Choose your 5-15 syns as normal and enjoy

SW recommend following the Extra Easy SP plan for a week, if you continue with it then either add some normal Extra Easy days into the plan or add an additional Healthy Extra A choice to ensure you are getting enough calcium.

Speed foods are mainly vegetables and fruits (however, those high in natural sugars are excluded)

Protein-rich foods include lean meats, poultry, fish, meat substitutes, eggs, beans and pulses.

Hello to members new and old

If you are just joining us you may not be aware of the bi-monthly challenge that we run to motivate ourselves which you are welcome to join. It isn't a competition, just a way of setting ourselves mini targets if your total loss seems a bit overwhelming.

The new challenge will run from week commencing the 4th January and finish on the 28th February - this gives us 8 weeks.

If you wish to join in with us then please post your target loss for the 8 weeks in red* or bold or massive or all of the above so that I can see it really easily.

In the following weeks please post your results also in red* or bold or massive, this thread gets really busy in January and I may miss your results unless you make it as easy as possible for me to see :D;)

I will post the results chart each week on a Monday showing the prior weeks losses and singling out the person who has lost the most so we can make a great big fuss over them :T

Any questions please let me know - it doesn't matter which day you get weighed just let me know your loss on the day you get weighed and i'll add it to the correct week (maybe, if I don't get confused!)

    Hi Everyone,

Nothing better then a shiny new thread. Count me in please (polishes halo:D). Had a gain of 1.5lbs this week, with all things considered I'm quite pleased with that.

Shala - Thanks for all your effort on the chart, and thanks in anticipation of the new "16" challenge.

I am having tonight totally off plan in so far as I have more fizz to consume!!

However, would you put me down for -8lbs please for the new challenge.

Hope everyone has managed to stay safe through Frank and floods. My best wishes go out to you all.

Have a Happy New Year tonight, and I'll "see" you all in 2016.

Now I've started the new thread i'm not sure where to post :rotfl:

2015 was a bit of a washout for me, I actually started and ended on the same weight, whilst i lost and gained the same stone over and over :( however, as my lovely sister pointed out at least I hadn't gained weight!! Silver linings and all that..

My starting day will be Saturday, i'll be working from home that day so partially back into the normal routine.. I'll take my start weight from there and i'm aiming to lose 14lb in the new challenge (miracles can happen right? ;))

Hope everyone is ok, elona hope you managed to stay safe, it's scarey enough weather down here so can't imagine how it is up there xxx

We lost a total of 65 stone last year.. let's try and beat that this year!! :j:j

Hi shiny new year (well, almost) and new thread! And thanks as always Shala for setting it up. :j

I'm going to wait until after this week's weigh in to set my challenge target again. I think it will be 2lbs/week, but will decide and post the official number on Saturday! :D

DD came this morning to drive me round the other side of town and diversions so we could get to group.

After all I snarfled down in the last few days I was relieved to have only put on one and a half pounds. After the power cuts, news of possible gas explosion and evacuation (fortunately I did not need to evacuate) I scoffed six bags of fries and an entire (small) selection box!

We stayed to image therapy and when we got back home I suggested a huge brunch of SW sausages, tomatoes, eggs and small wholemeal toast which we enjoyed.

As the main supermarket will be closed for a while DD insisted on driving me out of town for supplies. I now have sw sausages and burgers and a couple of ready meals. Also got fruit, veg, milk, chicken. pork steaks and diced beef so I can make chicken soup, marinated chicken, beef casserole etc.I still have a bolognese base so might turn that into lasagne and then freeze some.

Back properly on plan tomorrow but will raise a glass to the new year.

**Climbs back on the SW wagon yet again!**

Shala, please can you put me down for 4lbs for the challenge; I'm at my heaviest now and I have a hen do in May and a wedding in July and then hopefully another holiday at the end of the year so plenty of events to do something about my weight for. Hoping to get out running too from next week (have a stinking cold at the min which is great whilst I'm off work :-( ) which seems to do the trick for me so hoping to sign up for some plenty of races during 2016!

    Happy New Year everyone :-)

  • Thanks for the new thread Shala! Can you put me down for 14lbs please?

Everything has gone downhill this last week. Put on 2lb the week before xmas which was ok because I enjoyed myself! Wasn't too bad over the xmas 3-4 days. Not on plan but didn't eat huge amounts of food. The day after boxing day both me and DH came down with bad colds. His seems to have turned into the flu and he hasn't left bed in 2 days. So I've been trying to look after him, the baby and the 5yo all while feeling rubbish myself. I've had 1 day on plan in 10 days so weigh in on saturday isn't going to pretty. Haven't the energy to do any shopping so I'm living off of frozen pizzas and left over cheese and xmas pickings!

    Here's to a better 2016!
