Had a quiet New Year's Eve with my parents as my dad is not feeling very well at present. Spent yesterday afternoon with DH's family at the annual big family get together. Foodwise I was fine as by DSIL did a lovely dinner which had lots of good choices for me - until we got to pudding - pavlova mmmm. No alcohol as I was on driving duty then didn't want to have anything when I got home as I was worried I would have to dash over to mum and dad's.
New Years Resolutions I don't have any as I don't want to put myself under too much pressure. But I would like to loose at least 2 stone before I go on holiday in July.0 -
Morning all.. woke up with a bad tummy today so I shall be keeping my eating light I think
probably a good thing
Weighed in this morning and it wasn't as bad as I thought, but still bad.. but line drawn, I have my new starting point and start I shall!
Working from home this morning, OH is out and then he's off to a gig this afternoon/evening so I may get round to sorting a menu plan for the week, if not the next few days at least, while I have some quiet time..
good luck everyone for this year/week/day xxMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Hi all, i would love to join in with the challenge if you'll have me? I did join briefly last year but went awol
but managed to lose over a stone... half of which I have regained in the last couple of months. Looking forward to getting it shifted!
I would like to aim for 9lbs please
Meal planning is absolutely key for me so my first plan of action is to get a plan in place for next week before doing the weekly shop. I found SP worked well for me last time around, so might aim for a few days at first and maybe a full week a few weeks in if I start to lag! i usually do red/green days, when i first joined EE didn't exist and I still can't quite get into it - I think I don't trust myself to do it properly!

Hi everyone, and especially new joiners
Just back from group. We had about a dozen new starters, and a new consultant who set up the room differently to the old one. So it was all a bit of a mess! She just did the new member talk instead of happy clappy time, so not sure what to think yet. Will see what next week is like. But I lost 2lbs, got my 2st shiny and SOTW! :j
I need to ask the consultant next week if there was a SOTM, as our group was closed at the end of last month. She was way too flustered today to bother her with that, bless her. Not expecting I got it, but I'm just a curious sort.
Shala, have decided to set my challenge to 20lbs which is 2.5 per week. A bit higher than I'm averaging the past couple of weeks so I think it will be a challenge. Will be happy to reach 3st which is 13lbs away, so the extra half stone is just a cheeky bonus to aim for.0 -
feeling motivated today! :j
Food looks like:
breakfast
2 aldi light bars (B)
chunk of melon, 1 chopped apple and 1/2 banana
1 0% greek yoghurt
Lunch
Tuna pasta, salad with hm coleslaw (3 syns for salad cream)
Dinner
2 SW frozen sausage, chips an veggies
Diam bar (7.5 syns)
(A) Sk milk for teas
Not too shabby at all :rotfl:Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Hi Everyone
I'd like to join in please, I did slimming world a few years ago - poorly, but I can't keep gaining weight so I thought I'd try again.
I'll be doing it myself - I can't afford group or online, but I have the books so should be ok.
Aiming for 14lbs for this challenge please.
A little high - but I'm hoping the Christmas weight will come off quite quickly.
Thanks0 -
Hello, happy new year all and thanks for the new thread! Sounds like I'm not the only one craving a bit of routine and normal food again
I weighed in on New Year's Day and have only gained 4lbs since my dad died on 9th Nov so I don't think that's too bad all things considered.
I'm aiming for a 12lb loss in the challenge, that means just under 2lbs per week, and would take me to just under 11 and a half stone. It's my cousin's wedding on 5th March so that's a good incentive to keep in mind as well.
I've got my meals planned until Thurs lunchtime and went out today and bought mounds of fruit and veg, so looking forward to getting started from Mon.
Nice to see you here Shrimpy!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
:T on your loss and your shiny june. Well done!! That's fantastic, especially for the time of the year.Foodwise I was fine as by DSIL did a lovely dinner which had lots of good choices for me - until we got to pudding - pavlova mmmm..
Depending on the brand & portion size;) pavlova can be one of the better choices for pudding. I'm always amazed by how low syn meringues can be.CommitedToChange wrote: »I'll be doing it myself - I can't afford group or online, but I have the books so should be ok.shrimpy_80 wrote: »Meal planning is absolutely key for me so my first plan of action is to get a plan in place for next week before doing the weekly shop. Good to have you both along. You'll not be the only ones on here going alone (not sure if that's your plan shrimpy). Just shout if you have any questions or need syn values. As of a few weeks back, SW officially removed Green and Red from the website but you'll still see a number of posters on here having Green days in particular. I think most people go on the premise that if it worked before it'll work again. All I'd say is do check with branded goods because sometimes recipes (and so syn values) change and look at the revised fruit list as lots of the more sugary ones aren't Speed food any longer.
I was reading an article today about how WW is revamping its programme and looking at sugar in fruit seemed to be one of the things. I've never done WW but I think they're moving to be more like SW. Apparently the company is losing money/popularity and feeling the effects of things like mfp and fitbit.
Couldn't agree more about doing a meal plan (hope yours is sorted shala). I've done mine today and a shop to match so all organised for the coming week except for a couple meals with friends. I'm very keen to get back to normal but forgot that my normal is always a case of being on plan in between meals out. It's a bit like snakes and ladders.:rotfl:
EE plan for today:
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onion and beetrootLidl BBQ beef, patatas bravas, mushrooms, mange tout, peas, broad beans
Syns: squirt of syrup, 1 ? syn for beef, weekend wine:j
P.S. Just to add for new posters, I'm one of a number of target members including denise, meg, tie, tweets and wiz (and hope I haven't forgotten anyone) so when I eat out I tend not to worry if I go over syns. I certainly made wiser choices when I was getting to target.0
