Hi everyone,
Staying on plan, but impatient with it today, Day 10, and having a bit of a wobble.
What do people who work in offices etc have for lunches? Am struggling with lunch except JP's and salad. I used to take a tin of soup with me to work but now want syn free lunches. I can't stand tomatoes, which makes things difficult.
Also avoiding carbs with lunch and dinner for me seems difficult as well, I'm out the house for 12 hours a day because I commute 70 miles to work, so when I come in, I just want to flop down...

You could make your own soup and save your heb to have bread with it.
Are you avoiding carbs on purpose, or is the problem not being able to have sandwiches? If you're not avoiding carbs you could prepare lunches in advance such as pasta salad or frittata, or cook extra food for your main meal so you have leftovers for lunch.
I'm sure there will be lots of other suggestions too.

I work in an office and generally either take left overs from the previous day's dinner or batch cook at the weekend and portion and freeze. Jacket spud with beans or tuna and cheese. You could make some soup at home so you know it's free. Alternatively, I'll take a salad with either ham and egg, fish, chicken or SW quiche. You don't need to avoid carbs on SW...0 -
Hello, LindsayandMatthew, you’re doing really well!
Well done, lush, candyapple, babs, Kaz and lantanna.
lantanna, I’d have those flakes eaten too! He keeps them in the fridge – and his mum and dad are not allowed to have one either! He has them counted!
Right. Today was an epic fail! When I was doing my meal plan for today I forgot I had a hospital appointment. Should have remembered because I wasn’t doing grandson run! I did have to get granddaughter from nursery at lunchtime and wait for DH to come from his bowling tie to look after her. When I got home the result of that was I grabbed the leftover macaroni cheese (8syns) for a quick lunch – I had 20 mins turnaround time. Brain clearly not working because I could have had the planned parsnip soup which would have been ready just as quickly if not more quickly! Then after my appointment I went for a cup of tea in the hospital before driving home, so, of course, I had a bit of lemon drizzle loaf to go with it. Got home and had a fun size maltesers (I had to hunt that out!) AND a packet of Wotsits. All before my lovely planned tea! I am really annoyed with myself. Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Hi guys, new here but not new to SW I've been on and off for a couple of years now. Lost just over a stone last time I did it, but I'm tired of being the token "fat" friend now so here's time to do it for real and for life.
Shala am I okay to join the competition even if I'm late to start? If so is like to set my target to 14lbs0 -
Lots of poorlies on here now I've read back properly xx hope you all feel better soon..
I don't think you're being judgemental at all musogirl, I expected at least 2 stone off him..
Well done Horseykaz, great turn around. Do you think you'll carry on tracking?
Belsy, i'm the same as Lioness I tend to take leftovers. Although I do have a batch of meatballs and cooked chicken in the freezer which I can chuck in with some stir veg and noodles ( I don't mind eating them cold), homemade chunky chicken soup, if you're bored of jacket potatoes then Loaded Potato skins are good with a salad, ham and egg muffins (bit like quiche)...Sure I had to cut out the Chocolate Shala as I was well and truly addicted. Anything beginning with C really, Crisps, Chocolate, Cheese....
Chips...I'll miss chips

So far I've lost 10lb since I started on the 4th.
The first week I went hard-core and cut out all bread and sugar as it always loses me more and curbs the cravings because I kinda get used to not having it, I don't know if that's real science but it sounds about right.
Does anyone have any recipe recommendations? I'm doing it with my mum at the minute and because I still live at home she cooks me my dinner, but she goes away soon. Lunch is easy a salad i can do that, but I'd like something warm on these cold evenings and I don't want to be eating the same chicken Tikka masala for 14 days straight as it's the only free meal I can make:o
Also I had a ham hock sandwich from sainsburys today it had 554 calories, does anyone know what this is in syns (my plan was to get something from their "be good to you" range but it seams that everyone is a health kick so there wasn't any left and I don't have time to go else where.0 -

Hiya
There are links to recipes in post 1 and if you look back a couple of pages Shala did a great list of meal ideas.
The great thing about SW is that as long as you stick to a few rules you can eat normal meals like lean meat or fish with veg and potatoes, spaghetti bolognese, chilli and rice etc. If you're doing extra easy 1/3rd of your daily food intake has to be speed food - list on post 1.
Re the sandwich, unfortunately SW doesn't make allowance for any free food in a shop bought sandwich, so you'll have to use the 20 calories = 1 syns rule. If the sandwich was made with wholemeal bread you can take 6 syns off if you count it as your Heb.
Hope that helps.
