mary - for future reference 100ml of skimmed milk is 2 syns not 1. Not a problem today as you've got syns to spare.

- 1lb this week please Shala.
Can I just have a whinge, whinge and moanNow, while I'm thrilled that it's still coming down I would swear that I've been practically angelic this past few weeks and I'm only losing a bit and tbh I feel fatter than when I started. I know that I'm horrendously impatient and in my head, NOW is a perfectly reasonable request
and I haven't moved down the scales to the next stone so I'm sulking.
Anyway, onwards and upwards and congrats to all the STSs and losers and dodgy hugs to all that need them both human and canine.0 -
Ooh what did you put in your fajita mix Shala?
I amended a recipe that I found on the internet, they all seem to add sugar and cornflouri'm a bit of a throw it together person so I didn't measure it all accurately
it was nice though..
this was enough for 2 portions of chicken..
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4-1/2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp chilli powder (bit too much though:eek:)
- 2 tbsp. of tomato puree
- splash of water, enough to make a bit of sauce but I like it dry, you could always add passata if you like a lot of saucelushlifesaver wrote: »Shala - how long is left of the current challenge?
End of Feb Lush so we're in week 3 at the moment.. 5 weeks left. This is not at all helpful in anyway shape or form lol, but see there are giant crumpets out now!
Oh my life where.. where..
Just watching the "How to Diet Well" programme - coffee enemas :eek: no thank you!!

Dropping by with this week's weigh in result - 1.5lbs off tonight. Not bad but had hoped for more - sorry Shala but I think I am still 'overdrawn' on my target for the Challenge :og
Just a teeny tiny 0.5lb to get off to break even, you'll easily do that this week and more:D

I know how you’re feeling, Tete. I’ve been there, so I can sympathise with you so easily.
Great stuff, HurdyGurdy, Mavvers, sirbaksiu, orlao and Rebster.
Hang in there, wiz.
Hello, dragonb4.
lantanna, I am so sorry for your distress.
Thinking about you, Arkers, and your furry friend.
Since lots of us are confessing to lapses, I’ll pitch in with the chips that fell onto my plate when the gang was here tonight. And a fun size bag of maltesers that one grandson turned down - his 2 cousins partook of a bag each, btw - saying he’d had a biscuit already today. He’s always been like that. He does like a flake so I got him an 8 pack instead of a selection box at Christmas and he still has most of them! It’s not that he’s discouraged or prevented from having them, he just chooses not to indulge. Why does a 7 year old have more will power than me?
Oh well, Here’s to Wednesday – planning to recoup some syns
Breakfast: scrambled eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms
Lunch: parsnip soup, hexb bread
Dinner: oven baked salmon (1 for sweet chill dipping sauce), new potatoes, broccoli, beetroot

CommitedToChange wrote: »Stolen from a google searchThis is true. It's something about the batter sealing and steaming the fish, so the oil doesn't get the chance to soak in as it's only fried for a short length of time. Not entirely sure I agree with it, but hey, I'll take free! :rotfl:
Regular Chips (227g): 17½ Syns
Large Chips (340g): 26 Syns
Battered Fish, Small (120g): 10 Syns
Battered Fish, Average (180g): 15 Syns
Battered Fish, Large (225g): 19 Syns
But I think if you don't eat the batter the fish is free.
This is great to know...
It is so hard to believe that the chips are so high in Syns!
When I make home made chips fresh, I use 5ml oil = 2 syn.
You would have thought SW would have this advice somewhere on their website, or in their books? I failed to find it, and this is our national dish.
I found these figures using Google too, but found them hard to swallow, quite literally, why are they so high?
Not everyone eats the batter, we often get lightly battered fish, leaving the batter on the side of the plate, because of Gluten.
If the Chips are not smeared in grease, i.e dry, are they still so high in syns?

It apparently fights asthma symptoms (which would be of huge benefit for me) and is supposed to stop congestion and coughing - well I wish I'd known that 2 weeks ago I might have recovered from this flu bug a little quicker :rotfl: I'm not drinking caffeine at the mo so might have to stock up on these little miracle bags
I think my hormones are having a blip as I'm feeling like a hoover and have spots for the first time in a long whilestill positive for a loss in the morning
