Thank you for the lunch suggestions, I'm sorry I didn't reply but my internet connection crashed (BT TV, mobile and laptop) and has only just come back - not sure what's going on there!
For the first time in a long time I forgot to eat lunch so had a couple of rice cakes with light spready cheese for afternoon tea which hit the spot.
Congrats on all the weightloss reports, everyone is doing so well.0 -
Late checking in today, but I was out enjoying the sunshine. Don't care how cold it is if the sun is shining!
Went to Asda today and picked up a bunch of higher (for me) syn items. The highest is 6 so they're still well within plan, but I had been trying to keep syns under 3 per item. But I'm often at the end of the day on zero syns and don't feel like a whole plate of treats. So trying some smaller but higher calorie things.
Today. Not really into food at the moment, but trying a few different things...
Breakfast - Arla, berries and all-bran (0.5B1 + 1 syn)
Lunch - Chicken and beetroot sandwich (B2)
Snack - Clementines and biscuits (6)
Dinner - Nacho feast lettuce wraps
Pudding - Cereal bar (0.5 B1) and warm chocolate milk (A)0 -
Belseyboop - I agree with what Money said about "misery loves company". I have a similar problem but with my MIL. Anytime in the past that she has been aware of me being on a diet she will say "oh well done! But don't lose too much weight will you?"! Which drives me mad because she means well but it is just a silly thing to say, considering that in the decade she's known me I've never been lower than 15 stones and a size 18! No danger of me wasting away! She will then go on to tell me about the struggle she had to control her weight when she ballooned to a size 12!0

I second everything you just said about Flexi Syns Maman.
Thanks I am feeling more positive, I am looking forward to getting into my old clothes again and feeling slinky.
For those struggling to set a target the one good thing about a regain is that I finally know where I want to be with it as I think when I was losing weight it was just like lets see how skinny I could get, it was the first time in my adult life I'd been slim and I wanted to see exactly where I could go with it. I'm pretty certain this is not just me and many people try out different weights as such before settling on a target which may not be their lightest weight but where they looked and felt the best. At least now I know where to end it, this time............and will be more grateful when I am there :rotfl:
Strange game this weightloss caper, off to the gym, redundancies here, not a great environment but at least I will get my head showered in the gym.
Good to see you back Lush, have a good evening all!0 -
Evenin' all
I am very much looking forward to dinner tonight - it's one of our favourites
HEA has been the milk in my tea(s) today
Breakfast today was a bacon and tomato sandwich with a wholemeal sandwich thin (HEB)
Mid morning I had a banana and a satsuma
Lunch was leftover Cheesy Vegetable Bake from Monday night, with a salad, followed by a Skinny Cappuccino yogurt
Mid afternoon I made a Nescafe Skinny Cappuccino for 1.5 syns
Dinner will be Ikea style meatballs with gravy, with rice, broccoli, carrots and peas
So very few syns, leaving me free to indulge in some Hula Hoop Pufts for 3.5 syns, and some Jacobs crackers (2 crackers for 1 syn each) and St Agur blue cheese for 4.5 syns which will be 11.5 syns for the day.
I just LOVE this "diet" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I volunteered to go out for milk for the office today, and it was only when I was almost back at the office that I thought "oh wow - I haven't bought chocolate or cake" - which I always did in the past.
and and AND - I automatically took the stairs back to my section, rather than mindlessly pressing the lift button
Quite chuffed with myself today0 -
Just to give a bit of a different view on flexisynning vs weekly syns, I actually think flexi syns work better for me than weekly syns probably would. For me, 15 syns a day is generally enough, and I probably normally end up at around 12 syns a day. If I was counting syns weekly, that would mean I would probably have about 20 spare syns a week, and knowing me, I'd probably use them just for the sake of it (whereas it's not so tempting to use 3 syns for the sake of it). It's only occasionally that I find myself wanting extra syns (e.g. meals out), so on these occasions I take a flexi syn approach (but generally try to still make sensible choices). For me, this approach seems to work, but equally I can understand why weekly syns will work better for some people - it's all about finding what's right for you!0

So I made the one pan pasta tonight, and wanted to update you all on the results. Prep was incredibly easy - had to chop an onion, some cherry tomatoes and a garlic clove - that's it. I'd intended to quarter the recipe as I was only making it for me, but when I weighed out the correct amount of pasta I only had a small amount left in the packet so I added the rest, which meant I ended up making a third of the recipe, which turned out to be a rather large portion! Cooking it was an absolute doddle - it's literally a case of chucking everything into a pan and boiling it for about 10 minutes. When I served it up, I was rather sceptical. It basically looked like a plate of plain pasta with some chopped up onions and a few cherry tomatoes on top. But you know what? It was actually really nice! Even though it looked plain, it had lots of flavour. Definitely think I'll be cooking this one again, and trying out some alternative versions of the recipe
For anyone who's not a confident cook, or just wants something quick and easy to prepare, I would definitely give this a go.0 -

My dad used to look at me in amazement, tucking into a plate of pasta or bacon and eggs, and say, "That's some diet you're on!" - he nearly fell off his chair a couple of weeks later when I told him I'd already lost half a stone
Hello to all, well done to the losers and congrats to Lush!
Today:
B - Apple
D - Cowboy hotpot
T - Spaghetti loops on toast with cheese on top
Snacks - Banana, passion fruits, Mullerlight (jury's out on the peanut one!)
HEA - Milk in tea and coffee
HEB - 2 x Alpen Light
Syns - Sugar in coffee (3), biscuit (2.5), bread (5), cheese (4), Hot choc (3.5)
TOTAL - 18
I've had to do a swift reshuffle of my planned meals for tomorrow when I remembered I have to go straight from work to a committee meeting for running club, all doable though, there's plenty in the freezer.
Tomorrow:
B - Muller and fruit
D - Bacon and lentil soup
T - Cowboy hotpot
Night all x
Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Evening all - well done on SOTW Candyapple and well done to all the other losers - there's some great results coming in :T.
Meg - what a shame your holiday ended like that - hope the docs find out what's causing your symptoms soon.
Unfortunately I'm +1.5lb this week - not quite what I was hoping for, and although I'd had some extra's didn't think I'd been THAT bad... so it's back to filling in a tracker again to see where the extra is coming from.
Plan for tomorrow is Weetabix (A/B), couscous with peppers and apple, and mushroom cannelloni with salad followed by a muller light yogurt. Will also have a piece of HM apple tray bake that I've made to take to my Gardening course (guessing at 10 syns for a 60g slice as it's a basic sponge with added apple and spice).0
