I bought a copy of the Food Directory last year and to be honest, you're probably better off checking for syn values on the internet. I recommend the Syns Allowed Facebook page and if you're a smartphone user you can check things on there when you're in the supermarket, before you buy something and then discover it's high in syns.
The book has thousands of branded and own brand products in, and initially I went through it searching for syn free or low syn products, depending which supermarket I was going to. I made a list but struggled to find many items. They are probably listed because the SMs have stocked them at some point, but they're not necessarily still available.

Thanks Lois, think I'll give it a miss then!
Made a lovely spicy root & lentil casserole tonight: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1364/spicy-root-and-lentil-casserole Halved the recipe to only make 2 portions, but wish I'd made the full lot and frozen the leftovers! Will definitely be making this one again.0 -
Hi all,
Oh Lantanna, you've posted so eloquently, I really feel for you. Rooting for you tonight!
Well done to all losers, loads of fab figures coming in!
Today:
B - Mullerlight and 2x passionfruit
D - Chicken and veg soup, bread, banana
Snack - Raw mushrooms
T - Cowboy hotpot
HEA - Milk in coffees
HEB - Bread
Syns - Sugar in coffee (2), meringue (3), hot choc (2)
Oh man that cowboy hotpot is blimmin HUGE, I got six big portions from it and didn't use all the stock or the second can of beans as per the recipe (because it wouldn't all fit in the pan!). It'll be a good one to do in the SC I think, it took a long time tonight waiting for all the veg to cook.
I had a real hankering for something sweet on the way home from work and I've seen lots of meringues on SW Instagram accounts so I grabbed a pack and will break one up with a banana custard Muller - really looking forward to it!
I also picked up some of the peanut and caramel ones finally, we'll see if I can wait until tomorrow to test them out
Tomorrow:
B - Mullerlight and fruit
D - Cowboy hotpot
T - Post-run spaghetti loops on toast with cheese on top :j
Right, the washing up is calling. This cooking from scratch lark must be so much easier if you have a dishwasher!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Latanna - come and tell us how the WI went, hopefully we can celebrate with you or give you encouragement for next week.
Mary- felt so sad for you reading your post. Maybe with our support we can help you to keep focused?
Why oh why did I start catching up in the thread at the 'bum leakage' section! I must admit that I pmsl at that. The poor girl with the constant orange squits! She must've felt awful, poor thing.
So yesterday I had a bit of a bad food day. A colleague had her birthday and forced me to eat a big slab of cake (it was divine!) so I'm going to be extra good for a few days.
Today I had:
Breakie- banana
Lunch- chicken sandwich (very thin w/meal bread) B, yogurt and grapes
Snack- satsuma
Dinner - pasta with garlic and herbs and quark with bacon peas and leeks (not bum leaks though- hahaha! ) and a muller light.
I haven't stopped munching this eve thoughmade some lasagne sheet crisps hoping they were syn free but they're not, so +6 syns for that, then another mullerlight, a sw choc brownie (+1syn), another banana and then a singular white grape.
I've had milk in my coffee for A.
I suppose I've not done too badly really and I shout praise myself as OH has gone abroad on business so I usually comfort eat but on this instance I've done better than usual.
Must behave better tomorrow.0 -
First weigh in for this challenge and 3lbs off !! Also 2st award, club 10 award and slimmer of the week so stickers everywhere. I nearly didn't go tonight as the cold is making my pain worse but glad I did in the end.
Just got some mango Greek muller lights I've not seen before as a treat.
Good luck for everyone else weighing in. If you have a wobble and a bad day just draw a line under it, and start fresh tomorrow, don't think you've messed up the whole week and wait till next weigh in to start again.MFW OP's 2017 #101 £829.32/£5000

Interesting seeing all the posts on "ideal weight". According to the link shared earlier, my ideal weight is somewhere just under 10 stone. My target currently stands at 11 stone, which would put me in a healthy weight range according to my BMI. The thing is, as far as I can remember, I've never been that weight in my adult life, so it's very difficult for me to know how I'll look/feel when I get there. I can only imagine the same is true for a lot of people on a weight loss journey, but it definitely makes it difficult when it comes to knowing what to aim for!0

I weighed in today and STS I'm really disappointed as I thought I had been really good. However, I'm trying to be positive as at least I've stopped gaining which I've done most weeks since November and that's a start - of sorts. Work is really stressful and time consuming at the moment which is why I've not been able to be on here so much but even still I'd been watching what I eat. I'm hoping the result is hormonal or something or my good work will catch up with me this week but got to keep on going and see how things go. Going to try to up the exercise as well as writing down every morsel and see how I get in this week.
Well done to everyone posting good losses! :T:T
I'll try to get on here more during the week to help my mind focus.0 -
