Er yes the toilet scene complete with sound effects was totally unnecessary!

I really don't know why you would take that. The Bootea and Skinny Sprinkles craze really seems to have taken off with people I know. But having had my gallbladder out and with digestive issues I think it is safe to say I'll not be messing with any of those things.

A colonic yes I can understand why people do it but I'd be concerned about the long term effects of the other things. What are you doing to your insides!

    Hi all

Thanks for the chart Shala and well done Candyapple for SOTW. :T Hope you feel better and get your appetite back soon.

Only caught the tail end of the diet programme last night as I was out playing whist, but it sounds like I didn't miss much, i.e. the toilet bit.

Sorry for not posting much at the moment, I've been having a few technical issues with my devices that I've been trying to get sorted out. DH says my problem is too many devices! He may be right as I've got a laptop, tablet, smartphone and iPod. DS says I should just stick to Apple products.... pity they're so expensive!

Welcome to all the new people and good luck to everyone with your weight loss goals this year.

    Have a good day.

Does anyone know what the Food Directory/Free Branded Foods books are like? Thinking about ordering them from the website but don't want to waste my money if they're no good.

I bought a copy of the Food Directory last year and to be honest, you're probably better off checking for syn values on the internet. I recommend the Syns Allowed Facebook page and if you're a smartphone user you can check things on there when you're in the supermarket, before you buy something and then discover it's high in syns.

The book has thousands of branded and own brand products in, and initially I went through it searching for syn free or low syn products, depending which supermarket I was going to. I made a list but struggled to find many items. They are probably listed because the SMs have stocked them at some point, but they're not necessarily still available.

  • I need some inspiration please!

I had bacon, eggs and baked beans for breakfast and will have a veggie stir fry with noodles for dinner but I'm stuck on what to have for lunch. (I haven't used my HEA or my HEB yet).

Would love to hear some suggestions please.
  • hi guys. I've joined SW group last week and just had my first weigh in yesterday. Very dissappointed as lost only 1 lb. Was sticking to the plan and not even used all my syns. Do you guys know what might be the reason... does it matter that I've got only 1 st to lose and that's why it's taking slower than expected? tia
  • I got the yogurt deal in Iceland yesterday.
The yogs are the 1/2 Syn Greek ones and I bought 3 chicken tikka ready meals as I like those.
Son is back at winter cricket nets tonight so it will be a rush after work.
    B weetabix -Hea and b
L sw quiche, salad and pickles
D sw tikka and rice with a punnet of mushrooms in it.
Will be after 9.30 when we get in so hopefully can just bath and bed with my book with no snacking.

Ouch painful devices!! Hope you get sorted soon lois. I agree about the Directory. I bought one in my first year and they soon get out of date. I'm happy with the syns on line. I'd go for an app on my phone but my phone's so carp I'm seriously thinking of buying myself out of the contract then I might take your DH's advice.

Syns - hopefully none as ended up having too many again last night - DH opened the wine and dried sausage!

I had the 3 syns of 70% chocolate that seems to have become a habit but then I was good. We'd had dinner early for us (7 p.m) so I was peckish. I made myself chicken, beetroot and cucumber on 3 melba toasts so just 1.5 syns for a nice snack.
OH was pacing the house last night waiting for dinner, we didn't eat til 8.40 in the end and since he had a really late breakfast and no lunch he was struggling. I'm gonna have to come up with some syn free snacks he can have that to put him on, coz I don't see dinner taking much less time to prepare in the future...

I'd suggest you try to tailor your meal plan more to your lifestyle treeny to stop putting pressure on yourself. So on the days you know you're going to be pushed for time have something easy like a stir fry or a ready meal. I've got a SC of Bolognese sauce on at the moment for the freezer which I'll use when we need a quick meal. MrsR who used to post on here regularly lost loads with almost all ready prepared meals as she had limited cooking facilities (microwave) and some health issues that stopped her standing cooking. That was before SW brought out their Iceland meals.

Thanks for that link money. The 'old' measures put me between 10 stone 2 and 10 stone 6 and my target weight (which I try always to be just under) is 10 stone 7. The BMI guide on the other hand puts me as high as 12 stone! I can see where june is coming from though as if you're prone to losing weight from your neck/face/arms then you can look very drawn and wrinkly so perhaps best not to go for the lower end of range.

money, what you wrote about how you put weight on could have been written by me!:) Fortunately, no neighbour issues but the stressful/busy job leading to being more sedentary and irregular eating and then rewarding myself with wine when I got home after a long day. I still enjoy a glass of wine :Dbut I knew every night wasn't good so took that in hand along with starting SW. Now I carry on eating the SW world way as it helps me to have the structure to balance what I eat.

I'm out for a pub meal this evening. It'll be steak and chips but I will insist on a decent sized salad. Last time it was a pathetic little garnish although that wasn't what I asked for and I'll try to just have the one glass:o.

    Today's plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
    L: lentil and vegetable soup
    D: steak, chips, salad
    Syns: wine, chips

I'll start you off with the obvious: cheese on toast!!;) and put sliced tomato on top and have mushroom side for the Speed.

You're right that is often harder when you don't have much to lose. Although you're disappointed as some lose loads at first WI, I averaged just 1.5lbs and I had 3+ stone to lose. All I'd say as well is that you don't need to go under on syns and if it'd help to post menus we might notice something gone astray. Oh and keep up the Speed foods to at least a third.:)

Afternoon all :) I've been MIA this last week, but pleased to report a loss of 2.5lb at this morning's weigh in :D As I had an 18th bday party and my son's 10th bday in the week I am very pleased with that :D:D I've set myself a goal in class of 2lb for next week.

    Meals today:
B - ham (forgot to pick up my SW quiche for class, so nipped over the road to Aldi) and grapes
L - carrot & lentil soup. SW quiche & a side of tomatoes:)
D - s/fried noodles with peppers, onions, garlic and mushrooms.
Snacks - rest of the grapes. More soup if I'm really hungry

HexA - sk milk in teas throughout day. Leftover milk heated at end of day before bed :)
Hex B - stewed apples and pears with sweetener and mixed spice (after dinner)

Hope everyone is having a good day - it's cold out there!
