hello.. me again
How exciting for your wedding selement, I couldn't remember if you'd already got married or not so I didn't want to be rude and askwhich dress did you get in the end? I remember looking at some lovely lace ones...
Big day is November, but knowing it's this year will hopefully give me a good kick of motivation! Think last year it was too far away so pressure wasn't on :P
I ended up buying a dress from an outlet store that was less lacy, the Maggie Sottero ones were beautiful but less 'me'. Sadly I have no idea what make or anything the dress is from the outlet store so can't find a stock pic, I might put one up with my face edited out perhaps!
It's still lacy for the top part with flowers and sparkle, but the skirt is plain satin. This is probably better for taking up than the lacy dresses would have been (I am unusually short).Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -
Good luck Gbatey – didn’t know that you had to apply for a place??
Hi Lantanna, yeah I've gone in with The Sun ballot who has 3,000 places and if you don't get a place with them you automatically go into the general ballot. It's getting more expensive each year though-£53 for this year :eek:Debt free 2018

1lb loss for me this week. That puts me 2lb away from the next stone - hopefully I can get there before by holiday in 2 weeks! (and hopefully I won't put it all back on while I'm away! I'm only going for 3 nights so hopefully the damage should be limited)
Does anyone know what the Food Directory/Free Branded Foods books are like? Thinking about ordering them from the website but don't want to waste my money if they're no good.0 -

money, you're right that eating the same things can get very boring so always good to read what people eat on here or google for SW recipes or adapt others that you know you enjoy and get some variety into your week's meals. SW isn't meant to be thought of as a diet. It's a healthy eating plan that anyone can follow. When you get to your target weight you can relax a bit and introduce some extra syns or HEXs but to maintain you should carry on eating healthily or the weight might creep back on again.:(

I find it the easiest way to do this - to just think out a handful of things and "rinse and repeat" on this - though did google yesterday for "Slimming World recipe with aubergine in" as I have an aubergine to use up and don't want to do a 'drench it in oil' type recipe.
I know what you mean re regarding it as a "plan for life". As I do genuinely eat healthily (no junk food/very very little sugar/etc/etc) and do lead a more "active" lifestyle than many people these days (I don't have a car) then that, of itself, should be sufficient to keep the weight off once its off. The thing that put it on in the first place probably boils down to work was proving very stressful for many years before I was able to retire at last and that then got followed by a couple of neighbours here making my life heck for some time after I moved here. I resorted to a glass of wine (or two or three) rather too often to cope with first the job, then later on the neighbours. The neighbours seem to have given up the aggro at last (ie now that they can see I've made friends here and not "woman on my own" status any more) and hence I started on my diet and I should be okay now for not getting "driven to drink" again. My social life is rather different since moving here - and so doesn't involve much drinking at all.
So = once there (ie at target figure), then I should stay there without any concern.:)0 -
Had a low syn day finally...but ate no fruit or veg/salad...but no chocolate either. Must do better.
