Used my leftover syns for a fruity gelato tonight instead of chocolate. Made a big bowl with speedy fruits and meringues, since just the gelato on its own is tiny. I don't normally eat a lot of fruit (prefer veg) but this really hit the spot!

So I stuck a Pasta n Sauce in the microwave and it exploded all over the place and burned my tongue AND it isn't even that nice

I'm presuming that although the stuff in the packet is free, you have to syn the milk and butter?

Well, onwards. My terrible weekend should spur me on to stick to plan all week. Serious case of the Sunday Night Blues though - I really could do with three-day weekends being a thing - one day to run errands, one day to go out and about, and one day to relax. (Can't believe I'm complaining about work-life balance after two years as a teacher! :o I'm sure it'll calm down once I've got the house running smoothly).

I've never fancied pasta 'n sauce but I think it's only free (certain flavours) when made with hot water.

I think I must have misread the rest. My first thought was no work/life balance and Sunday Night Blues are standard for teaching, hence the mass exodus. But then realised that's probably exactly what you meant!;)
  • I retrained as a teacher and did it for two years then left in July and went back to an office job!

And you're right, the P'n'S aren't very nice TBH, I just got a couple as a standby but I should have just had beans on toast.

    :T:T when's the wedding, because i'll need to get a hat :D

Did our 4.5 mile walk earlier :T:T lunch wasn't the best so i'm in a food mood. Came home put all my clothes in the wash, including my fitbit  so even more in a mood now!! I then completely forgot it was in the wash and put it in the tumble dryer for 5 minutes before I remembered  I give up with myself sometimes.

It's currently sitting in a bowl of rice to dry out, seems to still be working thankfully and amazingly it's counted all the turns in the washing machine as steps :rotfl::rotfl: so I've done loads today!

Right off to shellac my nails so I feel pretty :D xx

Tonight I have made soup for lunch the next couple days and made overnight oats for the next couple of days! This is the sort of organisation that I soon give up on, but pleased with myself I was motivated enough to do it this time :) will I do it again Tuesday night? Only time will tell.

It probably helped that I tried my wedding dress on again today. It fits but I could do with with losing a bit more to fit a bit better. It's pre alterations (and will need significant alterations), love it still though, and it'll look even better when I'm a bit slimmer :) less than 10 months till the wedding - argh!

I am coming quite late to the party, but I would like to join in nevertheless. Hope I'm not too late. I have about 6st to lose, so it's a long haul ahead.

So if I am reading it right, I need to tell you my target weight loss for up until the 28th February..

I will be very cautious (don't want to fail on my first few weeks, because I know me, and that will send me headlong into the naughty foods!) and hope for a 12lb loss (think that's 2lbs a week?).

I managed 3lbs this week (that won't count in the challenge, which starts from now :) ), which was a nice little boost this morning, so I am optimistic. It was my son's birthday on Saturday and we went out for lunch. I declined all the gorgeous starters on the table (peri peri chicken wings, breaded mushrooms, jalapeno mozzarella sticks and onion rings), and much as I was lusting after a cajun blackened burger with blue cheese, I opted for the grilled salmon salad, no dressing (polishes halo).

I did have a bit of birthday cake though (halo tarnishes slightly), but that was my only fall from grace.

This week, it is my daughter's birthday on Thursday - great timing, right? So there will be more cake and another meal out. But I am hopeful of making the right choices :)

If you are just joining us you may not be aware of the bi-monthly challenge that we run to motivate ourselves which you are welcome to join. It isn't a competition, just a way of setting ourselves mini targets if your total loss seems a bit overwhelming.

The new challenge will run from week commencing the 4th January and finish on the 28th February - this gives us 8 weeks.

If you wish to join in with us then please post your target loss for the 8 weeks in red* or bold or massive or all of the above so that I can see it really easily.

In the following weeks please post your results also in red* or bold or massive, this thread gets really busy in January and I may miss your results unless you make it as easy as possible for me to see :D;)

Think one of the things I'm struggling with is the way its become the norm for people to be overweight - well women certainly. I can think of couples where the man is normal size, but the woman is fat - how did that happen in the same household?

Keeping my eyes fixed firmly on the 1970s - ie because that was when most people were "normal size" and I turned adult then...so...

Feels better already to know I'm not cramming myself into size 14 clothes and sometimes even lied to myself and said "That must mean I'm still size 14" - errrr...nope. I really AM size 14 now I think.

The test is "Would I buy that item now in that size and could it have stretched?".

Query for the day being - I think I'm right in thinking fermented vegetables and pickled vegetables are Syn-free? Can anyone confirm?

I've looked up the Polish for "sugar" on my jar of sauerkraut and it isn't there on that list of ingredients I can't understand - so I reckon that must be okay. I'm also thinking I could buy a jar of pickled cucumbers (now that label will be in English - so I can understand it) and that that should be Syn-free and another way to add a bit of taste to my Diet diet.

I confess to CBA about thinking up new stuff for everyday and am recycling a very basic same few old things daily - thinking "I cant get that bored with it for just a few weeks" as I think I should probably have got my figure back (at last) by the end of March. So it's not that long to have to be on a diet for.
