When we got back I cooked a roast lamb dinner with lots of veggies but after saying I wasn't going to have any wine syns I gave in, intending to have one glass with dinner, but then another one followed. I would still have been within 15 syns for the day with the old values but not with the new ones.
...or something on toast but will need to incorporate some speed food. I keep intending to eat salad but its so damn cold that's the last thing I want.
I can resist most of the temptations when the items are still saleable but the danger point is when things go out of date
What new syn values would they be then lois?
On a similar note, I was reading through an old magazine (May/June 2015) about a woman who'd lost 12 stone and she was snacking on cherries, kiwis and grapes. So whatever the advice, there is an element of if it worked before it'll still work (although obviously not for processed foods where recipes have changed).
I rarely buy proper salads unless we have a guaranteed spell of good weather. I have tomatoes, peppers and spring onions as I can cook with those if I don't eat them fresh and then I fall back on pickles. I always have a couple of jars open at any given time out of cornichons (lovely ones in Lidl), pickled cabbage, pickled onions and beetroot (I buy that vacuum packed as well as jars).
I can see now that you'd be literally eating your profits if you ate in date treats. Good thinking.
I can see that the gym is doing you good lantanna in far more ways than just the exercise. Sorry to hear about your aunt and problems with the man. Just keep doing a beanie. Plod on!!
Been trying on my holiday clothes this morning and everything I've kept from last year fits.:j So that's a NSV for me.
Plenty of LOs available today for lunch. I've had three good weeks on plan with just one carvery in there so I'm allowing us cheese sauce tonight.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for drinks
L: cold pork, fried LO veg, picklesgammon slices, cauli & broccoli cheese, Jersey Royals (first this season)
Syns: cheese sauce0 -
Afternoon, thanks for all your stories. :T as Lois said you're an inspiration that it can be done, and also that it can be maintained long term!
I have that book BEG, maybe I need to actually read it :rotfl: trying the pizza that's been doing the instagram rounds on Friday as OH is out. I might do a red day so I can have two HEB so 120g dough! :T
Sorry to hear your fella's not being supportive lantanna, maybe he'll realise your under a lot of stress at the moment and redeem himself! Enjoy your subway x
Menu for me today (back at work boooo)
B - apple, yogurt (0.5)
L - cottage pie jackets, carrots
T - crispy chilli chicken (?? syns) and rice, stir fry veg
S - crisps (4) banana, special K bar (heb) milk/cheese (hea)
Drinking green tea at the moment as it's meant to be beneficial to weight loss and it gets more water into me, bought the cherry bakewell flavour which is actually [STRIKE]quite nice[/STRIKE] drinkable.
Anyone else drink and see an effect on the scales?
xMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Hi.
Today's plan
He skimmed milk
Heb?
B nothing - felt full from yesterday's Chinese takeaway (I'm such a plonker with no will power!)
L sw quiche and salady bits
D sticky hoisin chicken (2.5) broccoli and noodles
I'm not a target member - still fighting my last 10lbs - I'm messing about at the moment and seriously thinking of calling target now because I weigh the same as I did 12 months ago. I am going to get one last countdown and then at the end of that I will declare it! I really do want to get a few more pounds off before a family wedding in August though just so that a dress I have will be able to be worn comfortably and not snuggly. I really don't want to buy another one as I have shoes and a bag to go with it and it will be perfect for that occasion.
Hail stones on my dog walk this morning with a howling gale and really cold too. I'm longing for some warm weather as I think it will motivate me.
I'll pop back later.0 -
It's really inspirational hearing how well you're all doing
Weigh in this evening and not looking forward to it, week has definitely not been on plan. Food has not been too bad, although wine is another story.
Activity wise, I have managed quite well with walks etc, and fitted in an outdoor HIT workout when my new skipping rope arrived Saturday. But will it be enough????? I have till 6pm to find out. Knackered today after a busy weekend and only 5 hours sleep last night. Been busy all round as DH had his opp on Wednesday. At least he is on the mend0 -
I go through phases of drinking Green tea Shala, no idea if it has an effect on weightloss, but I have drunk it pretty much from I started SW. I like the Salted Caramel and then any green tea with mint.
Men - lets face it, they generally do need a few goes to redeem themselves / "get it right" lol. He probably didn't really do anything wrong, just caught me at a bad time and a joke didn't really have its normal effect.
Anyway if this doesn't have a happy outcome I just very well may try some online dating again when time has moved on a bit. However now is not the time to be making drastic decisions.
Is anyone reading anything good that they would recommend? I'm in between books and nothing in the house grabs me at the minute. Wouldn't mind something a bit light hearted and funny.0 -
Hi Lantanna,
Glad you're still enjoying the gym, I'm starting back on the 1st and can't wait. I'm just going to stick with pilates and swimming to begin with before trying something a bit more high impact, but that aside chomping at the bit now. Men.....'nough said I agree "let him sweat" a bit! Re suggestions to read that is light and funny, how about Fat Chance by Nick Spalding. It is about weight loss, but quite amusing!
Arkers x0 -

lol at the men comment, you'll be flying when you get back into your stride at the gym. Ive already read it a long time ago, I thought it was really funny. I've been eyeing up "The Bucket list to mend a broken heart" on Amazon so might pick that up in Asda the next time they are in.0 -
Well done to the shiney's, and well done other losers :T
10 years TIE? Wow.. that must make you proud. So many people fall back to their old ways.. how much did you have to lose in the first place? and what made you think - "that's it i'm losing weight" (if that's not too nosey) Same questions to you really maman, Denise, tweets and any other targeters, i'm always interested to know people's back stories.. it helps to motivate, one day we can all get there too!
We tend to celebrate everyone losing weight each week, but we don't often celebrate you guys so well done and congratulations on maintaining :T:T:j:j:T:T you're all an inspiration!!
Really struggling not to order takeaway here the last few daysbut we've managed it, had a lovely text off my consultant the other day (never had such an involved consultant before) so I don't want to let her down this week.
Menu for today then, EE
B - apple, yogurt (0.5)
L - cottage pie jacket potatoes, cheese (hea)
T - chicken and sausage one pot (1) roasted veg (BNS, onion, peppers, sweet potato) broccoli
S - crisps (4.5) 2 x alpen light (heb) quark, coconut meringues (6 for 3 syns), orange

Just found my old sw book, starting date was 21.6.05 reached target 4.4.06 loss of 2st 7.5lbs. Although hubby is saying it was before that as we were both doing sw in 04 when his dad passed and he gave up but I didn't! Anyway, I had a blip a few months (medication) later and regained nearly a stone. Came off meds and lost the stone plus More, so in all had lost 3stish. My light bulb moment was I felt I let my son down as he couldn't swim as I was embarrassed to take him swimming. Also fed up with thighs rubbing together. I also lost a stone over the 6 week holiday so lots of comments on my weight loss when back at work
. I hoped to get to target by my 40th which I did :T. My aim was just to be a comfortable size 12 which I am although probably more of an 11 as 12s a bit loose but not enough for a 10
.
To keep here I try to stick to sw during week and let it all hang out at the weekend :rotfl:.blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Congratulations to all of today's losers and shiney-getters :T:T:T.
Good point Shala I think our Targeteers deserves some of these too :T:T:T.
If you like takeaways Shala - have you seen the SW fakeaway cookbook - it may help
Have been to a food festival today and omg the temptations that surround me  and that was on top of a friend's 21st party last night. Didn't go too mad at party but did have some nibbles plus nicked the salady garnish stuff to try and fill up my plateand decided to drive so was safe there.
Hope everyone has a good week and gets the results they are hoping for.

Hope I'm not too late Shala but I'm reporting a loss for last week of 0.5lb!
Really been messing around with this and the last half stone has taken forever. Still not got my 3 stone award, so I've given myself a kick up the bum and have been fully on plan for the last 3 days. 4 to go and hopefully I WILL get that award!0
