Evening all. Really interesting and inspiring to read the stories of those of you at target, thanks for sharing :) Weighed in this evening with a 0.5lb gain. Not great, but not too surprising given my indulgence last night! Hoping some SP days will get things moving back in right direction :)

Not sure as not had either; but think the food directory shows the syn values of branded goods from supermarkets.

Personally don't think you really need those sort of books as you can find syn values from the SW website if you're a member or can ask on this thread and someone will check for you. There are also other websites where you can check syn values such as Syns Allowed.

    Why buy unnecessary books?

    Denise

I have purchased the books as a lot of supermarkets that I shop at have no signal within the dark depths and I cannot access the app as a result :(

I'm a mere novice just coming up to 5 years!:rotfl:I agree that I've changed over time but it's not my appetitie. I still love my food and eat large portions at every meal. What has changed is that I really enjoy healthy food. I'm OK with an off plan meal but when I've been on holiday I always come back craving lots of veg.;)

You're right, of course, that losing weight isn't the answer to everything but I've found that it's made me feel better about myself all round. There's a lot more pleasure in clothes shopping and then doing my hair and make up as previously whatever I did I was still fat and it spoiled things.

I don't know if you can backdate Countdowns but maybe someone who helps at a group will come on and answer. You shouldn't have a problem with a block holiday booking though as SW is supposed to accommodate various work patterns.

Thanks for the heads up on the adapted carbonara emmy. I've done something similar with soft cheese but never quark. Did you miss a cheesy flavour?

Inconsistency with refs is infuriating tweets. They can ruin games (potentially whole season for Leicester) and they're completely unaccountable!

I had crisps again last night, all to do with resolve slipping after wine syns.:o I bought them in as a treat for DH as he's been working long hours lately but it'll have to stop. I don't know how you manage surrounded by syns in the shop lois.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB toast, 2 fried eggs
L: JP with cottage cheese & pickles
D: JO roast pork, SW roast potatoes and parsnips, various speed veg
    Syns: gravy, weekend wine.

The HM gravy is quite synful as 'll cook the pork with the rind on then force myself to bin it:cry: but some fat will end up in gravy.

Ohhhhhhh Maman so admire the will power in binning the pork crackling. I just cant do it, have to cut it off before cooking otherwise will scoff the lot. I cut it off and freeze it to take to my Brother who cooks it as extra crackling when he does a roast. Noooo definitely if I see it all golden and crispy its mine all mine.

Just had a brief catch up. Glad you enjoyed your Anniversary Meal Shala - sounds lovely and glad your have a supportive consultant.

Still in the same situation here, nothing has changed with my Aunt. They still don't no whats wrong and now she has developed a chest infection they've had to delay all the tests etc. Just a waiting game.

Haven't been on my scales, going to leave it until Friday or next Monday. My size 14 trousers feel a bit looser this morning and I can see a lot of toning going on. Still been hitting the gym as its a good release and enjoying the feeling of toning up again.

Had a row with my man friend yesterday, found him to be quite insensitive overall and then he got cross with me because I was trying to explain about why I had got annoyed and he was getting annoyed about the number of messages I'd sent him. All started over something I said as a joke. In no real rush to communicate with him at the minute. I know my heads all over the place right now, but give me a break for flips sake. He can sweat. I'll not be contacting him anytime soon.

Morning all :) Its so chilly here I wouldn't be surprised to see snow!

Had a lovely walk out in the sunshine yesterday but I'm feeling it today, my knees feel like I ran the marathon. :rotfl: When we got back I cooked a roast lamb dinner with lots of veggies but after saying I wasn't going to have any wine syns I gave in, intending to have one glass with dinner, but then another one followed. I would still have been within 15 syns for the day with the old values but not with the new ones. :o

I started today with melon, berries and yogurt and dinner is going to be LO chilli pasta bake but not sure about lunch yet - possibly a sandwich (HEB) or something on toast but will need to incorporate some speed food. I keep intending to eat salad but its so damn cold that's the last thing I want. I could make some minestrone soup, I've got everything I need for that.

I can resist most of the temptations when the items are still saleable but the danger point is when things go out of date - I give the customers plenty of opportunity by reducing the price before the sell by date but there will still be some things that have to go in the bin (not me or DH). I have been eating some OOD chocolate mini rolls but rationed them to one a day and they're only 4 syns each so not too bad. They went out of date on 7th April but they still taste fine. :rotfl:

Great to read all the back stories for our maintainers, you've all done really well. :T It's nice to think that being part of this thread has helped you stay at target because you're all very helpful to those of us still trying to get there, an inspiration in fact. :T

    Have a great week everyone.

Morning all, really cold here this morning; just had a short shower so no washing will get done today, but not too much waiting at the mo.

It'll be another EE day today and using up some leftovers:

B - HEB porridge made with water; apple, strawberries; quark added for creaminess
L - LO chicken with salad
D - LO cobbler mince topped with mash to make a kind of shepherds pie

By the way the cobbler topping from the magazine I cooked on Saturday was horrible and will definitely not be made again! Neither DH nor I ate them so at least we saved 3.5 syns!

  • Congratulations to all of today's losers and shiney-getters :T:T:T.

Good point Shala I think our Targeteers deserves some of these too :T:T:T.

If you like takeaways Shala - have you seen the SW fakeaway cookbook - it may help :D

Have been to a food festival today and omg the temptations that surround me  and that was on top of a friend's 21st party last night. Didn't go too mad at party but did have some nibbles plus nicked the salady garnish stuff to try and fill up my plate ;) and decided to drive so was safe there. :D

Hope everyone has a good week and gets the results they are hoping for.

  • So proud of you lantanna for sticking with the exercise/toning when you must be so stressed out. If you can see/feel the results of this I am sure it will give you a boost. Regardless of what those pesky scales say next time you jump on them - just remember how good you are starting to feel. ;). Thinking of you and your family xx

Had a full line of washing out and the sky went black and down came a heavy hail/snow shower . Seems to have passed over for now but decided to put the heating on so that I can get the stuff dried and ironed before I go out this afternoon - Mum's got drs appt and then I'll be rushing to SW.

    Hi everyone.

Had a bit of a mad weekend (again)

Reporting a STS for this week which isn't too bad... although I don't understand my body, two big losses followed by nothing, but ah well. Final WI for this challenge on Sunday 1st May (as I WI end of the week due to work commitments), think I have 1lb to hit my challenge target.. I can do this!! Just need to have a very strict week.

Hope everyone is ok and plodding along! :T:T

Think I'm getting a bit addicted to the gym, BEG. Love the feeling of switching off from everyone and just listening to my music and then leaving feeling like I have done something.

I am enjoying being back in work today for a bit of normality and distraction.

Think I am going to get a Subway Salad for dinner tonight, have taken a notion.
