Am pleased to report a 3lb loss this week, plus got my 4.5st award, but couldn't stay to group this week, which is rare for me.

    Have a good week all!:j

Another shiny! Well done to you too. :T

    Well done shiny people!

Made carbonara tonight - had it last week following the recipe in January's magazine (which used leeks and tinned ham) and it was awful so fiddled with it a bit tonight and it was DELICIOUS. It was simply bacon, onion and garlic fried off and tossed with pasta and 1/3 tub of quark (and a little water) - and then some mushrooms added at the end because DH doesn't like them and I do.

I am going to struggle syns-wise this week, though. I had a parcel to collect from the post office, and a friend in Israel has sent me some chocolate coated matzo. They work out at about 15 syns each, there's 4 in a box and she sent me 4 boxes! Aaaaaaargh! They're delicious. DH has put them somewhere safe (I had 2/3 of one earlier) where I won't find them easily so I can't sit and eat them all in one go.

    Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato
Snack: Chocolate matzo (10 syns), apple, satsumas
    Dinner: Linguine carbonara
    HEA: Milk
    HEB: Hifi bars
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Evening all, hope you're doing well, nearly the weekend! Made these last night (plus leftovers tonight) which were rather tasty and very easy: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/smoky-sweet-potato-bean-cakes-citrus-salad . Noticed a few of you talking about the challenges of maintaining - did any of you see the news stories last week talking about research that shows people who manage to keep weight off for a year are much more likely to maintain the loss long term because at that point people's appetite actually started changing. Apologies if it's already been discussed on here, been struggling to keep up recently!!

I'm in my 10th year at target (or there abouts :o) so I'd agree :D

WI with minuscule loss of .2lb better than a gain though :p. Bit annoying that it seems to be tummy issues again as had really good week food wise. Oh well will keep a troshing :rotfl:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Can I ask when the new challenge starts?

Looking to join as I want to lose around 4 stone (eventually).
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

    Morning all :)

Beautiful sunny day here today and we've got the afternoon off so I think we'll be heading out to enjoy it. Might get my walking boots on and head to the moors, but I'll wrap up as it's still cold.

I'm going back to class on Tuesday and I've decided to do a 12 week countdown. Anyone know if you can backdate them? I missed last week's class so it would be good to start from then as I'll have to pay for it anyway. I won't be able to go to class when the schools start their summer holidays so I'm planning to use all 6 weeks holiday in one go so I can return in September and continue - that will keep my mind focussed and hopefully stop me putting any weight back on.

Great advice Shala - women in general are very negative about their appearance and need to appreciate their good points more and learn to ignore the bits they don't like. I used to think all my negative feelings about my appearance would disappear if I was slim but I still hated photos of myself when I was at target.

Hi New Shadow - welcome to the thread. There's one week left of the current challenge so the next one starts at the beginning of May. Shala will announce it anytime soon, along with a link to the new thread.

Day Two for me today having successfully stayed on plan for a whole day yesterday! That's quite an achievement this week. :rotfl:

Hope everyone is enjoying some sunshine, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    LL :)

I'm a mere novice just coming up to 5 years!:rotfl:I agree that I've changed over time but it's not my appetitie. I still love my food and eat large portions at every meal. What has changed is that I really enjoy healthy food. I'm OK with an off plan meal but when I've been on holiday I always come back craving lots of veg.;)

You're right, of course, that losing weight isn't the answer to everything but I've found that it's made me feel better about myself all round. There's a lot more pleasure in clothes shopping and then doing my hair and make up as previously whatever I did I was still fat and it spoiled things.

I don't know if you can backdate Countdowns but maybe someone who helps at a group will come on and answer. You shouldn't have a problem with a block holiday booking though as SW is supposed to accommodate various work patterns.

Thanks for the heads up on the adapted carbonara emmy. I've done something similar with soft cheese but never quark. Did you miss a cheesy flavour?

Inconsistency with refs is infuriating tweets. They can ruin games (potentially whole season for Leicester) and they're completely unaccountable!

I had crisps again last night, all to do with resolve slipping after wine syns.:o I bought them in as a treat for DH as he's been working long hours lately but it'll have to stop. I don't know how you manage surrounded by syns in the shop lois.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB toast, 2 fried eggs
L: JP with cottage cheese & pickles
D: JO roast pork, SW roast potatoes and parsnips, various speed veg
    Syns: gravy, weekend wine.

The HM gravy is quite synful as 'll cook the pork with the rind on then force myself to bin it:cry: but some fat will end up in gravy.
