Sorry just had a really quick skim of posts trying to catch up. Lots of newbies I see - welcome.

Sadly I've had some bad news, my Aunt came over from Scotland to see my niece, took ill when she got off the plane and has been in hospital since with swelling of the brain. They have said there is no hope and it is a waiting game and if she were to survive she would be severely brain damaged. Last night she was moved to a different hospital with a specialist unit and we are awaiting lots of tests etc being done as they cannot work out what has happened.

Her 2 daughter have had to fly over and I feel so bad for them, it breaks my heart. Having to deal with this away from their home. Getting that call and having to get flights on their own - they live in different cities.

I've been cooking and cleaning, up and down to the hospital and trying to be as much support and help to my mother as I can. Its her sister. I'm done in right now.

Hope everyone is well xx I'm sure I will be back when things are a little more settled.

I am going to the gym tonight for half an hour as I am hoping it will help clear my head. Things are very much one day at a time at the minute but we did get a call yesterday morning to say we should come immediately as it wasn't looking good but she seems to have stabilised a bit since then - hence able to move her last night.

Sadly we all go through these horrible experiences so like everyone else currently just going through the motions of it all. It is not easy and there is nothing to do but just go through all of the emotions and look after ourselves and those close to us.

P.S I had a snack pack of olives and a lindt lindor bar for lunch. Strangely that combination was what I wanted. Do not follow my lead people.

Whilst I am not really paying much thought to what I am eating and keeping it SW friendly I am trying to be conscious and doing my best with whats available etc.

If ever there was a reason to lose focus a bit then you have one. Well done on even trying to keep SW in mind right now.

Oh I know, just keep telling myself things are bad enough without hitting the Chinese and the wine etc or I'll feel even worse in days to come when I'm dealing with weight gain on top of the loss of my aunt. I so could indulge myself for days on end here, but wheres it going to get me. I may not currently be at target but I am miles from being 17 stone again and the 17 stone me would have perceived this as a reason to indulge myself further in the likes of takeaways etc / warrant a break from keeping an eye on my eating etc.

3 years on from joining SW yes I still have to have the conversation / debate with myself about will I get some naughty foods etc all the time, but these days the soak in the bath, gym session or walk will win because I know it is better for me in the long run.

In a time of great sadness I am glad I can "control" my food issues, think logically about the outcome of my eating and every good decision I make to not revert to the old me is something I'm proud of. Its a long road and an ongoing journey that will last forever but I have definitely changed for the better.

well I got offered the job before my interview even ended! sadly I can't afford the pay drop that would come with it :(

I have had some syns: a romeo bar (treat size - Aldi version of a bounty) for 6 but I have had no other syns and I have none planned for the evening so I am ok with that. Also need a HeB and HeA at some point!

    Hiya

The SW food diaries have sections for super food, free food, HEX and syns so it's obviously designed for EE. The consultant at my group only touched on EESP in the new starters talk and said it would be discussed in class but I haven't heard it mentioned since. I presume there's a food diary available for that too, if you wanted to do it.

Lantanna - so sorry to hear about your Aunt, stay strong. Virtual hugs and positive thoughts heading your way.

Lush - shame about the job, but nice to know you impressed them so much they offered it to you in the interview. :D

I'm struggling to get back on plan today, although I had declared it was Day One. Tomorrow definitely will be.

Sending you a great big hung lantanna. It must be incredibly hard being strong for your mum but I think you're being amazing not turning to food for comfort. Your determination is excellent.:A

That's a shame lush but congratulations on getting the offer. It should give you confidence for anything else that comes along with a better salary. I call that a NSV.:T

Glad to hear that the Food Diaries have been revised. The ones I have are last year's that they gave out with the 'new' books when EESP was invented. It's rarely talked about at my group either lois unless someone mentions that they've been trying it. I think SW keep it for when weightloss stalls which I think is a good thing as it's not really meant to be an everyday way of eating.

Hi all. Sorry, been really rubbish at checking in with this thread lately - everything in my life just feels very manic at the moment! I weighed in on Sunday with a 0.5 lb gain - I'm fine with this, my weight seems a bit up and down at the moment but it's heading in the right direction overall so that's all that bothers me! Had a double NSV last week - went out for my first run in a long long time, which was a NSV in itself, but found that one of my biggest struggles was that by running trousers kept falling down because they were too big!! Off for another run this evening in the lovely weather - going to dig through my wardrobe and see if I can find something that fits a bit better!

So sorry to hear about your aunt Lantanna. Huge hugs for you.

Well done on being offered the job Lush, shame it would be a pay cut but at least it should boost your confidence for another post.
