Oh my knackered today, looking forward to getting home, changing my bed, eating my tea (steak, carrot & parsnip mash, and veg) and plonking myself on the settee for the rest of the night. Bliss
You enjoy your moment BEG publicity has its good and bad points and def isn't something to consider lightly. Your take on it is much like my own although I got persuaded to feature in the local paper and I found it a bit of an overwhelming experience and had more negatives for me than positives. But that could be all down to me and my personality, some people are better cut out for that sort of thing and take it all in their stride. In me it instilled fear and self loathing and criticism but that's just me all over ha ha!0 -
Well I've made my hummus - forgot to roast the red pepper so this one is smoked paprika. It's very nice - not quite as good as store bought but it will suffice if it means it's free and unlimited. This one isn't quite free. We only had normal greek yogurt in the fridge so will figure out the syns. Whatever 2 tbsps divided by 3 works out to be. So easy to make! Can't believe I've never tried it before anyway.0

There used to be a Free hummus recipe on the SW website but they seem to have taken it off. Have found another one which would be Free here http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/1405/easy-low-fat-houmous.aspx
Not tried it but might be worth a try.

That sounds like a good plan lush, especially if you can wait and have your meal afterwards.
I put the info in the calculator counting potatoes as free food and it's coming out as 3 syns for the 120g portion. I might try those myself when I next get to Ikea, it's be good to have something different in the freezer.
I've got two group options now - a Tuesday evening or a Thursday evening. For them I'd go home and prep tea for littlie and OH then go to group once that was done and cleared (so a 7pm group then I'd have hm soup after group) Both days would mean I hardly got any time with littlie on the day but I figure I do need the time out to work on me and have that space at OH gets at training etc.
The rosti are lovely and not too expensive. you get 8 9i think) to a box so 4 portions but they are a reasonable size (though thin). I got them in a bundle deal: box of rosti, big bag of meatballs and 2 of the sauce sachets for £5. I looked it up today and it is 5.5syn for 6 of the meatballs but not sure on the sauce so actually not too bad for a really filling meal. in my opinion anyway
I'm going to have 2 rosti (baked) with a chicken breast (also baked) then all my veggiesreally looking forward to it!

I'm just watching 'How to stay young' on catch up, and it's very interesting, anyone seen it?
There's an exercise that is used to test how you're aging, which is to sit on the floor and then get up again without using your hands - I don't think I could do that when I was young and I certainly can't do it now!
Food wise, their theory is that eating meat will speed up the aging process, evidenced by a community in America who are vegan or vegetarian and who have a very high life expectancy with low levels of cancer, stroke and heart disease. I don't think I could live without meat altogether but I'd like to try increasing the number of meat free days I have. I'd quite like to include more pulses in my diet too, rather than going for meat substitutes.

My grandmother believed this, although she had some religious reason for thinking so. Something to do with the Garden of Eden, I don't know - I tuned her out.But she basically decided if she gave up meat, she would live longer. She never did, and still lived into her 90s - very unhealthily!
But I'm not happy with the amount of meat I eat either, could never do meat free days because of DH though. So I've been having a lot of meat free lunches instead. Every little helps!
I'm going to try that floor thing once I don't have feline paralysis. Got a new blanket today and she is NOT moving. :rotfl:0 -

There's an Ikea mustard and dill sauce on the website at 3.5 syns per tablespoon but you've probably got the traditional berry one and that's not on there. SW website seems like a law unto itself. They say 7.5 for 100g of cooked meatballs.
I'd choose the Thursday evening if I were you. That way, if you have a synful weekend you've got lots of days to rein it back (speaking from experience and I know denise does the same too).
Hope you have a good evening lantanna, your dinner sounds good and then I'll join you on the sofa!:D0 -
I weigh on a Monday and find it keeps me on the straight and narrow. Mon-fri I try and be strict so I have some leeway at the weekend. Sat/sun ill have some treats like a meal out or wine but not go overboard cos Monday is weigh day.
Remember you can change day, it's not set in stone.0 -

That's a good point. I did think that if the consultant wasn't to lush's liking she could change or go to whichever group suited best any week. I often go to a different group if I'm busy on a Thursday.0 -
Hi everyone
WI for me today saw STS on the scales. Which I'm quite happy about as I had 2 piggy days where I just disregarded SW entirely and ate because I felt sad/grumpy/bored. Will try to behave this week and hopefully get a loss and my 3.5st shiny back.
I'm feeling particularly elephant-like tonight :rotfl: off-plan treat was indian takeaway and I wasn't really hungry so I ate half and now feeling that even that was too much so I'm in bed with a peppermint tea and a hot water bottle while OH watches the footie. Back on the wagon tomorrow, I'm craving fruit and water like you wouldn't believe!
I'm with you totally Tete on the battling your body thing. I'm a nightmare in the week running up to mother nature visiting where I just want to eat everything in sight and therefore do just to feel better. The week during I just feel naff so end up doing at all over again grrr!
I'm another SW from home peep psychopathbubble but I am seriously considering joining a group. Looking through my instagram, I've been up and down since January, am now slightly heavier than I was at the beginning of the year. It feels like I have one good week then 3 bad ones and it's so annoying. I'm lacking in motivation at the moment as well especially with OH not following SW like he used to do. And I feel like if I'm paying to get weighed etc it might make a bit more of a difference and I might try harder. Plus to be honest I need to get out of the house more. I know some people see their group as a social thing which I'm seriously lacking in at the moment. I'm really quite shy so it would be a massive leap for me, I just need to be brave and do it I think!
I can't take credit for the baked oats ruby as I did pinch the recipe from someone else but I use: 35g oats as hexb, 2 eggs, 3 tbsp sweetener as the basic mixture then just add bits and bobs. I didn't have any fruit in my choc shot muffins and they ended up a little dry so I'd advise adding some kind of fruit to moisten it up a bit. I think my fave so far has been the carrot cake one with a grated carrot, ginger and cinnamon. Baked oats with lemon yoghurt and strawberries is also a good one. The eggs make it really filling as well so it's a good brekkie to have0
