Hi all
I've been to class this morning and I won the raffle.:j The prize was a thermal lunch pot which I don't really need but nice to win.
My weigh in resulted in -4.5lbs which I'm pleased with but also mystified at how my own scales only showed a 2.25lb loss yesterday. I'm sure I haven't lost another 2.25lbs since then. I'll wait and see how I get on next week, and I'll weigh on my scales before I go, wearing clothes, to check if they're the same.
New Me - sorry to hear you weren't happy with your SW group, good luck with WW.
Have a good day everyone.

LL - I usually weigh at home before I go to WI and I know that I have to round up to the next 1/2lb and then add another 1/2lb to know how much I've lost (or put on!).
It's really a case of checking what the difference is over a few weeks to work it out.

How many of you go to group and how many just do SW at home?
I'm trying to decide whether to join a group tonight. I lost 2.5 stone last time (put 2 back on in the last 2-3 years) but currently I'm doing quite well with motivation and making good choices. I'm obviously not going to lose much more before I start putting it on but I really don't want to put on more than necessaryWe are trying to save our pennies (having just got married in January, got the keys to our house in February and now a new arrival in November) but I wonder whether the support will help me...

BEG - wow, that's such an achievement, well done you. :T:j
Will we be seeing your story on the SW website or in the magazine?
Have you decided what your target weight will be?
LL
Aw thanks Lois. I don't think my pic will be appearing any time soon in print or SW online if I have my way. I have only just joined our SW class fb group and that was a huge step for me - it only took me nearly two years. As for target weight - I think I have decided to use up the remaining weeks left on countdown and then I will probably call it a day. Just for the record, a 1lb loss will now take me to 10st something

Well done on the raffle win Lois. I always check my weight before I leave home for SW class and there is normally a difference of 0.5lb with mine weighing heavier than class scales. As Denise suggests, give it a couple of weeks to see how it works out.

Going it alone has never worked for me with any diet plan. I need the extra motivation of weighing for someone else. I can't speak for others of course but from what I've seen and heard over the years it very much depends on the group and consultant you are with as to whether joining a group is successful. I was a member of a different group previously and while the consultant was a nice lady I didn't find her particularly motivational. I now belong to a very large group with a wide variety of different people and a brilliant consultant. I enjoy going to group and treat it like a social activity!0 -

This is the trouble, each consultant is different. The best consultant I met is too far away... The lady running the group I went to when I lost before has opened a group near me (I'm not a fan of the other consultants in the area). Hmm... I think I will go along, if I hate it I can just leave again!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

I've just joined a group (2nd visit today) but previously I've been doing it at home with support from everyone on this thread since November 2014 and lost 2 stone 10lbs. I've proved to myself that I can do it, but my average weight loss has dropped over the last 6 months so I decided it was time to get back to class.
My aim is to be at target before I go into the next decade age-wise next year, and I'm about half way there so I do need to get on it.
In your situation, with a baby on the way, you'll be fine if you maintain your current weight until the birth. An acceptable weight gain during pregnancy is 1lb a week, so effectively maintaining would be equal to losing 1lb a week, and you'll be lighter after giving birth than pre-pregnancy. I did that with my first baby but not on purpose, I suffered with sickness right to the end and there were loads of foods I just couldn't eat. I made the other mums jealous when I left the maternity hospital in skinny jeans!
