Hi all, I'm back from an indulgent week with the family and not looking forward to my meeting with the scales tomorrow morning.

I've had a quick skim over the posts - there's a lot going on, so no individual comments tonight, but well done losers, commiserations gainers (that'll be me to) and hi to newbies. BTW that was an odd unhelpful post; I don't understand some folk!

Back to it to it tomorrow (need to go shopping); here's the plan:

    Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit, hexb toast & jam (1 1/2)
Lunch: Mug Shot (I think I have one lurking in the depths of the cupboard), ff nat yogurt & grapes
Dinner: chicken kebabs, chips & dip, apple & pear slices with sprinkle of cinnamon
Snacks: 2 Galaxy mini eggs (3), Quavers (4), hexa in some form

    Morning all :)

Happy to report in with the result of my weigh in this morning with a loss of 2.25 pounds. :j I don't usually report quarter pounds, but this one has taken me into the next stone bracket, so I'm happy about it.

Shala - I'm going to continue using the result of my Monday weigh in at home until the end of this challenge, then I'll switch to reporting on Tuesdays with the result from class for the next challenge.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Well done Lois and Musogirl!

A quick question about canned fruit: I've just had melon for brekkie and decided to stick in half a can of pineapple chunks too. They're in pineapple juice not syrup. Under 'fruit' in my book it says something like "Beware, canned fruit must be a healthy extra or synned" but pineapple isn't listed under HEs, and I can't find it in the main syn directory, so does that mean it's free? HALP!

  • I'm out to lunch today and have had a look at the menu - aargh. Not much for SWr's. Have settled on veg lasagne and salad rather than garlic bread and Sw online reckons 11 syns for 550g. Do you think that will be about right?
Tete tinned fruit does have to be synned because it is cooked in the can. Some can be a HE b I'll have a look when I get a mo.
    Menu
    HE a skimmed, milk
    HE b?
    B banana
    L veg lasagne (11) salad
D chicken breast mince meatballs SW tikka sauce and rice
Not going to have any extra syns or my HE b to try and compensate for the lasagne
  • Well done losers :)

    Today:
B- blueberry wheaties, milk and banana
L- deli box noodles, 2 ryvita & cottage cheese
D- pasta n sauce with veg added
S- watermelon, Alpen light, hoops puft, yoghurt, fruit from fruit box at work

    Planned syns - 4.5

Well, you learn something new every day! Thanks for the clarification Matron, I've looked up Del Monte Syn value as I guess pineapple in its own juice will be the same brand-for-brand - 2.5 Syns for the half can I ate!! I would rather have had a finger of KitKat!

:T that's great lois. You seem to be managing really well particularly now you're surrounded by syns in the shop.

Good to see you posting meg, and sticking up for our lovely group!:T

Tete, don't worry over much about tinned fruit, just chalk it down to experience. I think it's something to do with fibre being broken down in the cooking process but pineapple doesn't change much so I don't think you've done too much harm.

Good to see you back greentiger and jumping back on the wagon.

I've just portioned up 5 meals of Bolognese. We'll have one later in the week as I think it always tastes better after marinating a bit, even in the freezer.

We had some Aunt Bessie's red cabbage with dinner last night (YS after Christmas). It's 1 syn per 100g but I found it a bit too sweet and over spiced. We'll eat it up but will be making my own version of Delia next.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 fried eggs HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: fried LO veg with ham
D: BGTY burger, SW chips, fried onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, peas
Syns: squirt of HP sauce, 1 for burger, possibly chocolate later

Have got a rotten sore throat and stinking cold - not feeling well at all.

Trying to stick to SW today (green day) but we'll see.

B - FF nat yoghurt; strawberries; grapes
L - cheesy pizzas using WM bread; HEA/HEB
D - egg, chips, beans, mushrooms.

    2nd HEA - milk;
2nd HEB - not sure but maybe Hifi or Alpen Lights

  • Hi everyone

SP day went well yesterday although for the 1st time ever I didn't eat my 2nd HEB. All the protein keeps me so full so I didn't feel like I needed it. Shame they can't be carried over to the next day!

Well done to the losers so far this week :T

Get well soon denise I think my cold has decided to come back and annoy me so I've been sneezing my head off all morning

I never knew that tinned fruit was also cooked in the can matron, you learn something new every day! Nor did I know that tinned fruit could be a HE Tete. Love this thread it's so informative! I always have some tinned peach slices in my cupboard as they are so easy to grab for a snack or to pop in a pud. But I always get rid of the juice/syrup and give them a bit of a rinse and assume that's ok not to syn it. Naughty me, I hate having to syn fruit though :(

Trying a green day today as it's been a while since I did one of those. So I'm having ..

B - overnight oats with muller greek yoghurt (1 syn), banana & 2 satsumas
L - tomato and herb pasta & sauce from a packet with salad
T - leeks macaroni cheese & some veggies

Hoping to be light on the syns today with the additional HEs.

I have someone coming to fit blinds for the new windows tomorrow so will have to do a bit of a tidy up today, so I'll count that as my body magic :D

    Have a good Monday everyone
    xx
