Thanks ladies, I was trying remain polite instead of my usual reactions, whilst trying to work out the point of the post. I know SW doesn't work for everyone, my sister can't do it. She's been to classes and everything but still nothing...
TIE, i'm sorry you have your anxiety back, not as bad but I had a bit of a row with my line manager last week so i'm dreading going back in tomorrow too.. sending you positive vibes xNot a happy bunny :footie:

Evening all
Well said Shala. My sister has tried and failed at SW too, but she thinks going along to class every week is all it takes, she doesn't change her eating habits! :rotfl:
I think I've had an SP day today:
B: toast (Heb) and a pear
L: bacon, egg, beans, tomato, mushroomsHB fish pie, green beans, broccoli, baby corn, and SW Eton mess (syns for cheese and cornflour in pie and meringue). Milk in fish pie from Hea.
What do people think?

I took the big box of chocolates that DD2 gave me or Mothers' day to the foodbank on Friday. Don't feel too guilty as I kept the smellies and other bits. Even if they can't give them out to families I reckoned they could share them between the volunteers or offer one to clients as they come in. Anything's better than eating them myself.I think I've had an SP day today:

I don't think it can be completely a SP day as I think the HB fish pie has mash on top. But it's a good SW day whatever.
I like to think of SW plans as a spectrum which has 100% EE on one end and 100% SP at the other. So the closer you get to the SP end the more speedy your weightloss will be as it's lower carb. So (if I'm right about the recipe) your day has been full on SP except for the pie topping. That's great.
Sorry to hear about your team tweets. It all seemed to turn to worms towards the end. I hear that Van Gaal is planning who he's going to buy for next season and the powers that be at Old Trafford aren't keen on the Special One. You might be stuck with him!:rotfl:0 -

Still haven't quite got the full gist of HeA and B but then again I won't until I join up. I figure as long as most of it is salad, fruit and veg I shouldn't go too wrong.
Prepped my lunch (salad, will add tuna and a bit of feta tomorrow am) and snacks (cucumber, carrot and yellow pepper batons) for work tomorrow. I'm thinking porridge (smaller portion of 35g and skim milk) and a bit of honey for brekkie with maybe strawberries on the side.
Dinner - spag Bol. There was 250g packs of 5% mince in @ldi today on offer - can't remember the price though! So, I got 3 of them and will have one tomorrow and just pad out with veg.
Should be on for a good day tomorrow.0 -

There's no mash on this one, it has breadcrumbs and cheese. Just realised I left the breadcrumbs out above, but I could count it as part Heb2 on SP.
I like your thinking re the spectrum. I've been controlling portion size of carbs to get closer to SP, quite often my plate is 40% speed, 40% protein and 20% carbs.

That's great Lois. You really seem to be 100% on track. Well done on your resolve.
MrsP, you're right that you'll have a better idea of HEXs when you've been to a class. To give you a rough idea: HEA allow a small amount of milk or cheese and HEBs are mainly wholemeal bread or cereal. The amounts are small but you can have more if you syn them. So looking at your plans for tomorrow, it's unlikely that you can fit in the milk and feta into a HEA especially if you have drinks as well. You're right about the fruit and veg though and well done for planning ahead!0 -
Personally I did SW for a couple of years lost weight but found it was making me saggy and got low iron levels. When you stop even if you eat a balance diet the weight piles on. SW is not great for your metabolism.
Sorry but this is simply not true as many of us on here already know having got to target and successfully manage to maintain that. Slimming world is not a diet but a healthy eating plan for life. If you had low iron levels you either had a medical problem or were not following the plan correctly. I recently had to have blood tests and the results were to quote my Doctor " Good, in fact for your age bloody good," I am 70.
Saggy bits? yes of course, its the result of being overweight and then losing it, we have overstretched our skin and then deflated it. sadly as you get older it dosent go back. Personally I would rather have my saggy bits than a life time of pain due to being overweight and lets face it as we age we are going to get them anyway,
I am sorry SW didn't work for you but would question why you post such blantantly untrue statement that SW is not good for metabolism. This is a successful support group for people needing wanting to lose weight and it works. I don't think any of us on here want to hear your uniformed opinion or be put off by dire warnings .
We welcome everyone on here and if you would like to try again you will get all the help and support you need to make it work you will be made welcome. but if you want to be negative and are not prepared to do a bit of research to see where you went wrong please don't use this thread to give wrong information to people looking for help and support.Slimming World at target0 -
Hi all
Spent most of today with my head in my Maths exam papers. Had planned a walk but it didn't happen. Instead tackled the large ironing pile OH so thoughtfully created by shoving all my stuff haphazardly into the dryer after he washed it  I read somewhere that ironing is good for burning calories and with three heavy cotton hoodies that were very creased I hope that has helped
Today's menu plan:
B: SW fry up- bacon (fry light, no fat) fried eggs (done with FryLight) 4 x Heck Chicken Italia sausages (2 syns) tin tomatoes, 3 X Ryvita Sweet Onion (HEXB) Cuppa coffee with HEXA s/s
L: Big mixed salad with smoked salmon and ham, 1/2 a syn for a carefully measured tablespoon of very light mayo
T: Chicken (no skin) peas, sweetcorn, green beans, carrots, spinach, broccoli
S: Curly Wurly (6 syns) Hoops and Crosses (4.5)
HEXA: Milk
HEXB: Ryvita
Drinks have been decaff tea and NAS flavoured water. Thanks for the tips on NAS drinks without aspartame- going to get me to Sainsbob's tomorrow!
Syns: 13

Oh bless you TIE, you sound like you`re having a bad time, hugs my lovely, we have all been there. You don't hate your body you just want to change it a bit and you know it can happen for you if you follow the plan. No need to do it everyday just when you feel up to it, anxiety plays havoc with your system, I know ., suffered for years, be as kind to yourself as I know from your posts you are to others. The mind is a powerful thing just believe in yourself, love yourself and you will make the changes you need.Slimming World at target0
