Brr its a lot colder today and snow is forecast for the weekend :eek::eek:

I'm not surprised, it's bliddy freezing out there tonight!

Was it Karen asking about online membership? I'm another one to say don't bother! I downloaded the basic info booklets (Free food, HEs and syns) and basically never used it again. I found it easier to find syn values for things on google than the database. If you search for, eg, "Walls pork sausages" it brings up dozens of Walls products, dozens of pork products and dozens of different brands of sausage! And I seem to remember you had to input syns manually into the online diary, it didn't calculate them for you, so what's the point?

Maman, thanks for the sushi advice which I only got now :o I went for a salmon and prawn couscous thing and decided to just convert the calories to syns (400 >> 20) but googled it when I got home and found it's only 7.5 :D I'm so pleased I'm going to have an extra hot chocolate and head to bed with my book! (The classical concert was gorgeous, I feel all chilled out now).

    Today was:
    B - Mullerlight, apple, banana
D - Chicken and veg soup, bread
    T - Salmon thing (7.5)
    Snacks - Banana
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - bread
Other syns - sugar in coffee (2), hot chocolate x2 (4)
    Total - 13.5 :D:D

    Tomorrow will look like:
    B - Mullerlight and apple
D - Speedy turkey curry with couscous
T - Steak with steamed veg (broccoli, fine beans, asparagus) and mushrooms. Ooh and I'll grill some cherry toms as well.

Weigh-in number one tomorrow! I've changed my WI day from a Wed to a Fri because 1st Jan fell on a Fri, but I think it'll be better for me. I tended to go off track Wed-Sun after being weighed, so at least if I go a bit off track now it's only for two days before Monday, if that makes sense? I've purposely kept some syns in reserve too, plus I always run at the weekend.

    Happy Friday all!

Hello, would it be ok for me to tag along again? I have been here before and got a lot of support and help, but have had a horrible year (husband had affair, been going on for years and me bumbling along unaware!) and everything just fell to pieces for me.

Anyway, I am now a bit wobbly, overweight and unhealthy but ready to change with some inspiration and a kick when I need it.

I thought I'd miss the potatoes with dinner but I didn't. I might do SP more often (although I am sitting here wanting a yoghurt - I suppose I might use lower syn but not free ones)

We had the yoghurt discussion on the last thread. Even the synned ones aren't allowed on SP as they have a partial free allowance on them (the syns are only for the fruit/honey/fat - the yoghurt itself is still free) so you would be tweaking to have one. But if you really want one, you could have it. As maman says, a 95% SP day is still better than not attempting it at all. Or something like that. :p

ETA: If you wanted that sort of consistency without tweaking, maybe one of the Mullerlight dairy desserts? As it's not yoghurt, they are fully synned so not a free food. The caramel layers one is really nice, and only 3.5 syns. The WW choc pots are similar and 2.5 syns, but they are tiny. Quark mixed with Options/sweetener/etc is another option and could be syn free depending what you add. It's a P food so fine on SP days.

Congrats on the loss though! :T

Found a recipe which I'm thinking of trying next week:http://www.marthastewart.com/978784/one-pan-pasta - going to give it a go without the oil and parmesan. If it works it could be a really handy quick meal, and I might start thinking about adding other bits to it. However I've got a feeling I may end up with a watery mess! Anyone ever tried anything like this?

Here are 7 great menu variations on the one-pan-pasta method

So sorry to hear about your year. Welcome back and good luck with your loss.

Hello to all the other newbies and returnee's too.

Congrats to those who have already weighed in and have had a loss. Some good ones coming through already.

    Today's plan was:

Breakfast: Toast (HEB) jam (1 syn) DG coffee (2 syns)
    snack: apple
lunch: Channa Dhal with chicken, rice, peppers and mushrooms
dinner: SW meatballs, Moroccan sauce (made with Moroccan spices tomatoes, onion, garlic, peppers), baked potato (1 syn - McCains)
supper: Forest fruits and ML yoghurt ( 1 syn key lime one).
HEA was milk in coffee as I forgot to take in my green tea to work!!

hopefully catch up a bit better tomorrow as I was back to work today and have only just had the chance to get online.
