Maman. Can you please tell me about the melba toast? Is it a particular one? Thanks.
Raining cats and dogs here

I bought mine in Home Bargains but they have them in Asda or Sainsbury's too.

I'm going to try the LM red onion and rosemary sausages as they're on offer. I'm not sure DH would like them but for £1 I'll get some for me to snack on or have at lunchtimes.

I didn't go to WI this morning. Car had to go in for a service so decision made for me:D. I could weigh and go somewhere else but I expect all groups will be manic at the moment.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 fried eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
    L: ham, bubble& squeak, pickles
D: piri piri chicken, SW wedges, mushrooms, tomatoes, mange tout
Syns: scrape of spread, chicken (1.5?)

I bought the chicken breasts in Lidl on offer a few weeks back. It's 1.5 including skin so if I don't eat that probably close to free.

Lunch: left over spag bol chocka with carrots, onions, tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms. Yoghurt
Dinner: Sweet and sour pork (1) with rice with green veggies

snacks: Kitkat (5.5) Wm cob (B) with jam (2),

Mrs H, that's still a good loss. I know how you feel though, I lost 5lbs my first week which is great but people who are several stone lighter than me were losing 7-8lbs. I've overtaken them now though, it's the long term that matters. :D

    Today for me...
    Breakfast - Arla, raspberries, granola and coffee (0.5 A, B, 1.5 syns)
Lunch - Chicken and goats cheese salad (0.5 A)
    Dinner - Fish and veggies

I'm waiting for the weather to brighten up and then going to walk into town. Neighbours are having work done on their house today, way too loud to stay in. May have a cheeky treat while there, but will count the syns of course!
  • All gong well so far.
    B banana and 2 satsumas
L bacon sandwich with ketchup (Heb +1syn)
D hairy dieters paprika chicken and rice (2) loaded with speed veg
    Hea in tea and coffee
    Be back later.

Afternoon all.. hello to the new peeps and well done the losers :T

Karen - leg brace  - hope you're ok! i've not heard good things about SW online, do you think you might be able to get enough info off this thread and use google/syns allowed to track down the syns? We're happy to answer any questions... If you did want the pack then they sell it on ebay, not sure if that would work out cheaper than 3 month subscription??

I have the same issue with OH, so he has normal sausages when i have the LM ones... they're a nice addition to a frittata/tortilla they add quite a bit of flavour :D

I imagine they're nice in pasta too.. might have to try that.

Mary don't be too disappointed in your loss, i lost 0.5 lb my first week so it's pretty good compared to that :rotfl: like June said it's what happens long term that counts! :T

OH is off out the next two nights so i can please myself for teas, i did think of making a BNS lasagne but i might just fancy egg, chips and LM sausages now! Think i'll do lasagne tonight and sausage and chips tomorrow :D

It's a green day for me anyway - i planned my day well :D then forgot my yogurt for breakfast :(
    B - apple
L - cheese(hea), carrot, onion, quark sandwich (heb)
T - BNS lasagne (0.5 hea + 2 syns), salad, few chips, quark dip for pudding (white choc or peanut ) 2, alpen bars (heb)
    S - crisps (5) apple, satsuma, 100ml milk (0.5 hea ish)
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

Well I bit the bullet and decided to WI - It was + 3lb, so not too bad considering I was on holiday for 3.5 weeks and it also included Christmas and New Year. Definitely need to lose at least 1lb this coming week so that I get back into target range.

I tried to get the Melba Toasts in Tesco's this morning but they didn't have any - I know they used to do them as I've bought them before a few years, probably shortly after I started SW. However what they did have was Melba Thins - these come in little multipacks of 6 (at least that's how many it looks like) and each of those little multipacks are 3.5 syns so should make a nice little evening snack with a Free topping of some sort or with some cheese for a few syns.

Mary Hinge - don't be disappointed with your 3.5lb loss in your first week, I, like Shala only lost 0.5lb my first week. I've never lost 3.5lb in one week all the way to target! Usually it was only 0.5 or 1lb with the most I ever lost in one week being 2lb and that was after I'd hit target!

  • Thanks for the welcomes everyone :waves:

maman, I don't mind having a bit of rice, quiona and normal and sweet potatoes but I don't want it to be every meal, and I want to make sure our meals have some protein to them too. So lots of beans, eggs and half fat mozzarella going in there!

I did buy a spiralizer before Christmas that I've not got round to playing with much yet, but there's a big butternut squash in my veg rack just calling out to be made into pasta, so hopefully that'll work out this weekend sometime.

Rebster, I'm completely obsessed with popcorn atm! Our canteen upstairs sells the 6 syn packs of Metcalfes, and I bought a couple of multipacks in our shop this week that I think are 3.5 syns but I think they're too small for me! Opening 2 packs is a slippery slope that makes it ok to have 3 and then 4, so I think I'll give them a miss next week and stick with the bigger packs!

Made a massive bean chilli for last nights tea that was to do lunches for today and tomorrow (with a bit of eeking, tomorrow's was in it's own tub with no carbs), but OH stayed up last night, drunk half a bottle of rum, got the munchies and ate today's lunch last night! I was fuming this morning - I know we've been ignoring syns and snacking too much in the evenings but the fact he hit the booze really annoyed me. Calmed down a bit now, though I'm out tonight so it'll be jacket and beans for lunch tomorrow since I won't have time to cook tonight.

B: Overnight oats with frozen berries (run out of berries now, must remember to get more tonight)
    L: Bean chilli and rice
D: ?? - I'm volunteering at a homeless shelter tonight and we eat with the residents so I'm at the mercy of the kitchen there. Not likely to be syn free, but it's once a fortnight and it's baby steps
S: Heading up to the canteen for my 6 syn popcorn in a minute...

I quite liked the taste of the LM sausages but found the texture a bit weird so have only had the one pack.

    Good Afternoon :)

Lost 1/4 lb but put me down for STS this week please

I am not messing with silly amounts :D

Brr its a lot colder today and snow is forecast for the weekend :eek::eek:

Forgot who it was but if you can get to class once for the healthy eating plan , I would. (not sure if you can buy the plan on EBay or anywhere else online)

You will be wasting your money signing online I did this when I first joined and had to join for 3 months :( Waste of money once you get the healthy eating plan.

They should change it and let you join for a month ;) that would be better and cheaper :)
