OH and I are both in need of a fresh start after the last couple of months (or maybe even longer!) when we've been living off ready meals and takeaways. I don't want to join the challenge this time, my goal for the next 8 weeks is simply to stick with it, keep the cupboards filled, plan and cook healthy meals and get back to the gym.
I feel healthiest when I'm on a low carb diet and could quite happily live off stirfries, but unfortunately OH is a veggie and I don't have the energy to cook 2 meals every night. I know OH could sort his own meals, but tbh, that would probably end up being a pizza every night, so I have to be supportive and make most meals veggie. I don't want to be too high carb though, and wheat is deffo off the table, so I'm going to have to be a bit creative to find easy meals that fit the criteria, since I'm always shattered after work and we often end up busy at the weekends too. I'm looking forward to getting some inspiration from you lovely lot!
We started officially on Monday - the syns have been a bit high due to leftover Christmas treats but babysteps, we're now on day 4 without a takeaway - a new record!
Mon:
B: Oats, yoghurt, blueberries/raspberries
L: Leftover chickpea and sweet potato curry with riceVeg frittata with ham and mozzarella
S: Popcorn (6.5 syns), yoghurt
Tue:
B: Oats, yoghurt, frozen berries
L: Ham and veg frittatasw quiche with sweet potato wedges
S: popcorn (lots of mini bags!), chocolate, mozzarella, marshmallows - dinner took a while to cook and I had a bit of a binge!
Wed:
B: Oats, yoghurt, frozen berries
L: Sw quicke with baked potatoBean chilli and rice (hopefully)
S: Popcorn (6.5 syns)
Don't know if you're only having the popcorn because you happen to have it in, but if not and you just love it as a snack (like me!) I love snacking on the Metcalfe's sweet and salty popcorn - the 17g bags which you can get in a multipack are only 3 syns
Think I too will be trying those Sainsbury's sausages/burgers when I get a chance!0 -

Weigh in is tomorrow morning. My scales indicate something in the 3lb region, but we shall see what the "official" scales say. I am expecting a GIANT group - leader has already said on our (closed) FB page that she's not doing normal IMAGE Therapy, but instead is doing a new member/refresher talk to everyone.
Today's food:
Brunch: Bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes. Tassimo cappuccino (2.5 syns)
Snack: Cheese (HEA), pickled onions, beetroot, cherry tomatoes.
Dinner: Pasta bolognaise. Yoghurt, apple, orange.
Late night snack: Hifi Bars (HEB)
I'm actually quite nervous about tomorrow; probably more so than the first weigh in and I don't know why. I think it's because I know that my 6.5 lbs was the highest of my consultant's three groups (although we only had about 20 weigh at the group I go to, rather than the usual 60, as it was NYE) so I feel pressure to get it off quickly. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Maisie I too have a stocked freezer with SW Friendly meals as I got cooking over the xmas break.
I'm going to keep it up and batch cook at the weekends so I end up with a good mix in there.
Its been handy so far this week to just leave something out of the freezer and then all I have to do when I get home is boil veg etc.
Think I will do Chilli this weekend.
Need to experiment with more chicken based ones though.
That was my plan too and I have another four meals that I have all the ingredients in to do this weekend but have hit a snag in so far as both my chest freezer in the garage and the upright freezer in the utility room are both full:rotfl: Fortunately the ones I still have to make are veggie ones so mainly made with pulses, tomatoes, spices onions, peppers etc so will keep for another week until we make some room.0 -

Don’t know what happened and yesterday’s post isn’t up- I even had a message saying I was trying to post twice! I had a copy saved in word so here it is:
Thank you, b_e_g.
Hello, Dragon and hollowhead.
Big wave to wiz!
Well done, Rebster, orlao, Arkers and MrsBunny.
Well, determination is still winning – I’ve been good today again. I’ve had everything I planned (and nothing else) except my hexa. I’ve only had 5 ½ syns, so I may just treat myself to something to sit it on!
Tomorrow I’m back on the school run with DGS, so either I get up extra early (I’m NOT a morning person) and have breakfast before I go and, therefore, will be ready for more food by the time I get home, OR I leave breakfast until I get home by which time I will be ready to eat the proverbial scabby dug – and I will want it immediately. Maybe I’ll try eating a banana while I’m getting ready – shouldn’t be too messy. This will be a 4-days-a-week issue, so I need to sort it out!
Anyway, Wednesday’s menu
Breakfast: hexb toast & beans
Lunch: tuna salad (carrot, celery, tomato, cucumber, beetroot) with xl mayo (1)
Dinner: ham & leek sweet potato pie, sprouts & carrots
Snacks: cherries, cereal (4 syns) & hexa milk
Good luck all – keep those losses rolling in.
And here we are today. And I was good again!! Wow – 3 days in a row; that’s determination for you. Long may it last. After all the breakfast angst, I opted for the banana before I went out. It worked, so I’ll do that again.
shala, you’re a wonder! Thank you for all your hard work.
Ooh, maman, well done on the dress,
You’ll get back on track, lantanna. I’m going to do the BHF Dechox in March. I’ve already told some family and friends that I’m doing it so I can’t back out now.
Hang in there, mary hinge. I like Linda McCartney’s rosemary & red onion sausages. The teeny tiny coop in the nearest town has these sometimes. The teeny tiny Sainsbury’s in the second nearest town (I use the term loosely) doesn’t have the BGTY sausages or burgers:(
Hello again, Kaz. Hi treeny_bash.
Great loss, candyapple and pathtofreedom.
If I’m having toast I have jam instead of butter – I really, really like toast and BUTTER, there is no acceptable substitute!
I only have a little freezer so I’m jealous of people who can batch cook. I do have a few sw friendly meals in the freezer and lots of veg.
Well, that’s MORE than enough for one post, sorry, so here’s Thursday’s plan.
Pre-Breakfast: banana
Breakfast: hexb cereal, hexa milk, raspberries & strawberries
Lunch: HM vegetable soup, using whatever I’ve got
Dinner: spicy chicken pasta
Snacks: ryvita (2), Philly light (2) & cherry tomatoes; cherry tomatoes, carrot, cucumber & peppers
Good luck, everyone.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400
