Out of curiosity, how many cups of coffee can I have a day to meet my HEA? I have about 4 cups a day with the normal amount of milk. I drink semi skimmed in my coffee. Would 4 cups take me to my HEA limit?

I'd say you're probably well within your HEA. 250 mls would make 4 quite milky coffees. I'd suggest you measure it out daily into a small bottle just use that. for yourself. That's what I did when I first started and I found on days when I didn't have cereal I always had milk left over from my teas. After that I stopped measuring and decided that if I was over on 'cereal' days and under on others on balance then I'd be fine. I also resolved that if I wasn't losing I'd go back to measuring. Fortunately that didn't happen.

You can split a HEX if you want. Today I'm going to have a sprinkle of grated cheese on my omelette as I haven't had cereal and have my tea fairly strong.

I agree a ban is the way forward mojoflo ! It also makes you look for alternatives - free and speed ones hopefully.

I like the look of those burgers Maman I must look out for them.

I think I'm more annoyed with the gain tbh because I had sts on my own scales and went home last night and checked straight after and def stayed the same.

Whereas I was up on consultants scales by 1.5 which have always been the same as mine every week! Coz I always check when I get home ( I'm weird like that I know)

Anyway we have always been in a room with a tiled floor now we are in different room with a carpet in it and will be staying there.

No point in stressing about it, just have to accept it as it is, go off her scales and get on with it. :rotfl:

I need to get some fruit and yogurts, I forgot about the constant topping up lol when you are in the throws of SW! At least my new fridge / freezer is helping be motivated!

Wow, thanks for your super speedy replies Denise, latanna and maman :) great idea, I'll measure some milk out and whatever I've got left I'll heat it in the microwave with a sprinkle of cinnamon and 1sp of honey (1syn) for an evening winter warmer :)

Second the recommendation of the Sainsbury's sausages. I used to have those all the time (even when not dieting) but can't now because of DH as they have rusk. One of the nicest sausages I've had, without even thinking of the syns!

A "normal" coffee to me is 150ml of milk, which is half my soya allowance. So 4 coffees would send me way over, but I make proper lattes rather than instant coffee. So agree to measure out for the day.

Today is EE for me, as I fancied a banana. :p
Breakfast - Weetabix with banana and blackberries (1/2 A, B)
Lunch - Leftover quiche and salad
Dinner - Chilli and spinach (1/2 A for cheese on top)

Hi.. its took me so long to log in at work i've forgotten what everyone's said - stoopid work computers expecting us only to do work :rotfl:

So hope everyone is ok.. hello to the new people

I definitely blame the carpet lantanna, if your scales usually read the same.. carpet and hard floor will definitely give different readings! But as you say, its no point stressing - it gives you your starting point at least!

I'm going for an EE day today (if i'd planned better i could have done red but i'm a rubbish planner!)
    B - apple, yogurt, granola (0.5heb)
L - potato skins (0.5 hea) salad, pickles
T - chicken, roasted veg, salad
    S - crisps (5) tiny cookie (1-2?) milk (0.5hea)

I'll shall try and think of a pudding tonight so that i can use up my other 0.5 heb make it feel like a treat :D may pop to the shop and get some alpen lights and mullers...

    Hi all

I have been busy in the kitchen today making more meals for the freezer. I have made courgette soup, scotch broth, Sweet and Sour chicken, a mince and mushroom thing for cannelloni and an easy curry sauce for the cooked LO turkey and lamb I have in the freezer. My freezers are both now fit to burst so should make it easier to stay on plan.

    Today's meals are/were:
B: Ham, mushroom and tomato omlette
L: Channa Dhal with rice, peppers and mushrooms. Forest fruits and ML yoghurt.
D: LM sausages, SW chips, gravy and mixed vegetable
supper will be crispbreads with Lo Lo Cheese to use up my HEa and HEb

It actually feels really nice to be eating 'normally' again after all the indulgences of the past few weeks.

You really shouldn't be feeling hungry mary. If you do just eat more!!:D I'd suggest that if you eat more free food then you should eat just as much extra Speed to match. That's just my opinion though as many consultants have the 'fill your boots' approach to free food.

Do let us know how you get on with the SC pulled pork.

I think it's common to get times of the week when you feel bloated. That's why weekly WI only is recommended. Just keep posting menus and we'll let you know if there's anything we notice that might be a problem.

I haven't tried any of the SW ready meals as nothing I've read really convinces me. I buy the Sainsbury's BGTY Cumberland Pork Sausages at 1 syn each.

Their burgers are good too. At one syn each I don't bother making my own any more.

I agree with you it's better to ban things while you get to target lantanna. I did it with cheese, chocolate and crisps as I couldn't trust myself to be sensible. Great to hear you've got your head back in the zone. I know it was a big Christmas gain but this week's wasn't so bad so just shows you've got yourself back on plan.

Thankyou Maman, Sorry I meant I couldn't stop muching on foods (free and Super free) not that i went hungry :rotfl:

I will have a look in sainsbugs and see if I can find them to try..... thanks!

Pulled pork is currently frozen pork sat defrosting as I forgot to take it out lastnight..... that will be tomorrow then! :rotfl:

Maisie I too have a stocked freezer with SW Friendly meals as I got cooking over the xmas break.

I'm going to keep it up and batch cook at the weekends so I end up with a good mix in there.

Its been handy so far this week to just leave something out of the freezer and then all I have to do when I get home is boil veg etc.

Think I will do Chilli this weekend.

Need to experiment with more chicken based ones though.
  • Can I sneak in at the back please? I was on one of these threads a while back but drifted, and have been floating around a bit ever since. But I really need to get back on the wagon, and I think SW has to be the way forward.

OH and I are both in need of a fresh start after the last couple of months (or maybe even longer!) when we've been living off ready meals and takeaways. I don't want to join the challenge this time, my goal for the next 8 weeks is simply to stick with it, keep the cupboards filled, plan and cook healthy meals and get back to the gym.

I feel healthiest when I'm on a low carb diet and could quite happily live off stirfries, but unfortunately OH is a veggie and I don't have the energy to cook 2 meals every night. I know OH could sort his own meals, but tbh, that would probably end up being a pizza every night, so I have to be supportive and make most meals veggie. I don't want to be too high carb though, and wheat is deffo off the table, so I'm going to have to be a bit creative to find easy meals that fit the criteria, since I'm always shattered after work and we often end up busy at the weekends too. I'm looking forward to getting some inspiration from you lovely lot!
