    Hi all

I have been busy in the kitchen today making more meals for the freezer. I have made courgette soup, scotch broth, Sweet and Sour chicken, a mince and mushroom thing for cannelloni and an easy curry sauce for the cooked LO turkey and lamb I have in the freezer. My freezers are both now fit to burst so should make it easier to stay on plan.

Oh wow! You put me to shame. All I've got left HM in the freezers is some soup. We ate the last portion of chilli on Monday. I'll write something into next week's plan like Bolognese as it's a good standby and I need to make more braised red cabbage while plenty of red cabbage in the shops.

I will have a look in sainsbugs and see if I can find them to try..... thanks!

The sausages are in chiller but the burgers are frozen just so you know where to look.:)

treeny, that is difficult catering for a veggie and wanting low carb particularly as any low/carb free SP meals for you could speed weightloss. Two things I'd suggest: you could up the protein and veg in your own meals with minimal carb (so a big bowl of chilli with very small portion of rice or even eat it as a chunky soup) then you'd have the same ingredients as DH just different proportions. Also, I wondered whether you'd tried things like cauliflower rice or courgette spaghetti or a spiraliser?
  • Plus point for the day - I found/bought a tube each of "Choc Shot hot choc" and "Fruit Syrup". The plus is that I don't recall either of them being on the market last time I was on a diet. I'm thinking they should be a healthy alternative to the "sweeteners" I won't use personally. Though I am closing my eyes a bit to the Choc Shot having rapeseed oil (not unhealthy per se - but I am wondering whether its G.M. modified?).

So - with these being stated as "14 calories per teaspoon" and my idea of maybe using half a teaspoon any time I want to add sweetness - would I be correct in thinking that neither of them would rate for anything on the Syns front?

The mixed/plus minus point is now I know I'm losing weight - as I need a warmer temperature than I have for the last couple of years. It's a plus that its proof that I am losing weight (not carrying around own personal "insulation" with me). Its a minus because of the number of people that want a colder temperature than heading-towards-slim me can now feel comfortable in. (Think I might start carrying round a thermometer with me for objective reading of whether places are too hot/too cold/just right:rotfl:).

A teaspoon is half a syn so negligible unless you had loads of it.

I'd agree with feeling colder with weightloss. Thankfully this winter has been mild here so haven't really noticed. Plus point is you can enjoy buying lots of lovely warm clothes and not look like Michelin man in them!:rotfl:

For those that like Muller Light there is a Peanut and Caramel one on the way!

If anybody gets one please let us know how it is. We are always last to get these things!

Bring back the Turkish Delight one I say it was my fave!
  • Had first weigh in of the year yesterday and I've lost 3 1/2 over the past couple of weeks which I'm very chuffed with. There were a lot of new people though so it was just a new member talk for the meeting.

I did win the raffle though - woop woop.

Next weigh in will be the first one for this challenge, I'm hoping for my club 10 and 2st award as well, so no pressure.

    Thanks for that:T

It is very irritating when errr...there are some more generously-proportioned people that will turn round and try and make comments of "There is something wrong with you" as a way of trying to get the temperature they want personally for themselves (rather than a temperature that is reasonable by objective standards).

I confess to "giving as good as I get" when anyone tries that one:rotfl:.

Yep....I'm all too well aware at the moment of not daring to buy jackets in "puffed-up" type styles - as I look like a little barrel on legs in them if I do. It will be nice to be able to buy them come Slimmer Me.

Just went to Sainsbugs on the way home to get some muller lights, think everyone must have got there before me:eek: only manky strawberry ones left :(

I don't often buy mullers (too tight) so I'm annoyed I couldn't get them, rude people buying them all :p

I got some alpens on offer @ £1.50, some coconut choc shot , White choc options, some of those sausages that maman recommended for OH :D, and some half price gammon - just the 2.6kg of it  no idea what I'm doing with it yet! Proper SW basket though...
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

I won't be buying this one as I don't like peanut flavour anything (except in porridge, oddly enough!) but just to confirm that they are free. People thought they may have syns since peanut is high fat, but they're already on the app and free!

There's also been reports of them already showing up in Asda, Co-op and Iceland. But mostly empty shelves. :rotfl:

    Hello all,

Feeling proper motivated at the mo :) Thanks to whoever suggested Alpen Lights as a sweet treat, I'd always had them as a breakfasty snack, but just had one now after my tea and it's really satisfied my sweet tooth!

Today's plan altered slightly from what I planned as I haven't been running so don't really fancy my spaghetti loops on toast treat.

    B - Mullerlight and apple
D - Pasta bol inc loads of veg
T - Bacon-wrapped asparagus with stir-fried courgette and mushrooms, and roasted cherry toms
Snack - Four fish sticks (these *are* free aren't they?)
    HEA - Milk in coffee
    HEB - Alpen Light
Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), hot choc later (2), extra milk (1.5)

*Whoever was asking about milk - I measured for the first few days and found I could get 4 hot drinks from my allowance so if I have more than that then I syn it as above. I do try to drink herbal teas at work but needed the caffeine today!

I was so smug about the amount of speed in my tea that I almost posted on instagram with a SW hashtag. I may yet...

    Tomorrow:
    B - Mullerlight and apple
D - Chicken and veg soup

Then I'm a bit stuck for tea. I'm going to a classical concert thing after work so I need to grab something I can quickly eat in the car on the hop - from M&S or somewhere. Any ideas on SW-friendly pre-packed stuff? Sushi? I'm sure I've got a syns book for branded foods like that but would love to know what you recommend?

    Thanks! x
