Meg I've not seen the chicken sausages but have had the pork ones and thought they were horrible as well. I've tried a few of the SW meals and didn't rate any of them. Much prefer to make my own meals from fresh ingredients as much as possible.

Went to WI this morning after 2 weeks and pleased to say I lost 1.5lb and am now back into target range.

There was absolutely no mention of the new wine syns at group this morning, instead our consultant was asking what targets we had to aim for over the next few months - eg where we'd like to be weightwise before we go on holiday on such an such a date. One of the members was working out how many weeks it was to the date and how much everyone needs to average to get to their target by then!

It made a nice change from the usual saying how much everyone had lost and mini targets for next week! I've got 10 WI's before I go on holiday for 3.5 months and need to lose 0.5lb per week to reach bottom end of target range! No reason why I shouldn't be able to do it as long as life doesn't get in the way!

    Today's plan is EE:

B - none - forgot to take anything with me and didn't want to buy a box of Hifis
    L - LO lasagne
    D - SC sausage casserole

HEA - milk as usual for tea
HEB - not sure but probably some Ryvita & butter

Syns - butter (8ish); might also have some dark chocolate

That made me feel quite ill. Def don't let them away with it!

Good to see you! How are you doing?

Hi Lantanna I am doing OK still under target. Still flitting between Southport and Telford, I find when I stay with my fella I usually put on a 2lb but then when he stays here I take it off again. He and his Son are chocoholics and I cant always resist pinching some.

My consultant always just puts the new information on the middle table, never mentions it and expects you to find it yourself. Of course, she wrongly advises on products all the time anyway so maybe that's a good thing. :rotfl:

I'm thinking about changing up what I eat. I've been craving sweet potato a lot recently so I think some more EE days are in order. Just have to get used to not using my 2 Bs, unless I can swing some green days when hubby isn't home. He won't even accept veggie mince, keeps asking where the meat is!

    Today is still SP though...
Breakfast - Weetabix, berries, latte (A,B1)
Lunch - Chicken salad wrap (B2)
Dinner - Either fish and veggies or bolognese. The other one will be tomorrow's dinner.

:eek: just cooked and opened a pack of tilda basmati sun dried tomato rice (had loads before) and it was rank! Full of mouldy rice _pale__pale_.
Have taken photo and tweeted Tilda, sent email address as requested now to wait and see.
Put me right off my lunch though :(

Yuck! Need a DISlike button for that. Was it still in date?

DH and I frequently eat food after its Best Before date, but we're always careful to check that it's ok before we cook it or add it to anything, just to make sure we don't contaminate other food by mistake.

I tend to use a cheese sauce mix - used to use the Colmans one which I think is 8.5 syns for the pack but recently tried the Schwartz one which is lower - 7.5 syns I think so 2 syns a portion and it's much nicer than the Colmans one (I added a bit of mustard powder to it as well which worked well to improve the flavour).

You'd need to count the milk for those too - or do you count it as part of your HEA?

Sound like a very productive morning lois and it's kept your hands busy!:rotfl:

    That's true!

I did a bit of googling and the best value 5% beef and pork mince (separate) is in Sainsbury's at the moment. It might be worth you driving to a big store and stocking up if you have the freezer space.

Sainsburys is a good way from here but next time I'm in town I'll get some, I've got plenty of freezer space at the moment, but that will change as we get busier!

I've never eaten them myself but would pasta n sauce in cheese variety be similar to mac cheese? Much lower syn if you like that sort of thing.

I'm not a fan of the dried pasta n sauce things, but I'm sure they would be very similar. We have cans of macaroni cheese in the shop so it's an easy thing to have for lunch. (And DH particularly fancied it.)

:T on getting back into target range denise. I really must get to a WI myself as not been for a few weeks.

3.5 months holiday! Oh wow! Where are you off to?:)

I think we can count passing your theory test as a NSV belsyboop. I'm sure that's boosted your confidence no end and will motivate you to succeed with SW too.

Good to see you posting meg. I think of you often, especially when I manage any YS bargains.:D

Like you MrsR, I often accidentally have SP meals. I've deliberately made my lentil soup without potatoes to keep it that way.

I've never fancied them either, they look a bit like Pot Noodle to me._pale_

Evening all :) Not had a chance to check in all week - busy at work and feeling exhausted when I get home :( But logged on to discover I'm SOTW :j First time ever! Thanks for the chart Shala :)

Had hoped to go out for a run this evening (first time in months) but just as I got home it started pouring it down :( Will hopefully get out at the weekend. Feeling really tired lately and I'm convinced it's down to lack of exercise.

Made the chipotle steak from latest magazine earlier in the week - was very yum, and great as a quick meal. Might try it again with chicken at some point I think!

Went shopping last weekend and bought myself a new pair of jeans, and have ordered myself some new bras as I realised my current ones really weren't fitting! This may sound mad as I've lost nearly 1.5 stone, but I'm only just actually starting to feel slimmer, and it feels nice :)

I now know why Iceland have reduced the chicken sausages. THEY ARE HORRIBLE.

Yep agree with you there! They have a weird texture and are a bit rubbery I find, doesn't sound like they have been very popular if they are being discontinued. I'm not a fan of the regular SW sausages either for same reason. The burgers are nice though, if a little dry!

Have had another good on-plan day .. 14 syns munched and slurped. Didn't have my usual HEB for breakfast so I'm about to have 2 alpen lights as a little supper treat :)

Hope everyone's had a good day

  • Went to tesco and asda this evening for an SW food shop... Annoyingly they are both quite small stores so didn't have many things I had on my list. OH is away from Saturday for a week so I have no excuse not to stick to plan. I'm also considering going back to a group, I lost 2.5 stone last time, although put 2 back on... I keep saying I'll do it on my own but it looks like I just need a group to keep me motivated. Going to try to find a group with a consultant I like... Some are rubbish!
