Day Two completed to plan, I've used 6.5 syns so far for a tin of macaroni cheese. Whenever I eat canned Mac n cheese it reminds me that some brands used to be free food on the green plan back in the day when I first did SW. However, people got into liquidising it to use as cheese sauce in lasagne (and other things) and the powers that be invented the term 'food abuse' and gave it syns. :rotfl:
Breakfast is already prepared for tomorrow - melon balls and frozen berries, which I'll have with natural yogurt, leaving a Heb for lunch, which will be HM soup with some bread. I might go in search of lean pork mince to make the meatballs from the magazine which look delish. otherwise the plan is for chilli and rice.
Back tomorrow, enjoy the rest of the evening.

I'm not an 'official' paid up member of SW, nor am I really a veteran as I've only been doing it since September, but for me the trick is to really go gung-ho, at least at the start. Find a couple of weeks where you have no big social engagements, weekends away, or stressy work times (ones you can predict anyway), so you can really get in the groove. Spend a day clearing out your kitchen of all temptations, go through your recipe books, magazines and the website, and make a full meal plan for the week. Think also about the kinds of snacks you'll eat and factor in Syns (I love meringue nests for a sweet treat at 2-3 Syns dep. on brand) then make a list and go shopping, sticking religiously to it.
Make sure you measure and weigh your HEs and write down everything you eat - often we'll pick at something small and forget we've had it but it all adds up.
Cook in batches where possible and make use of your freezer - that way you'll always have something ready-made to hand in a pinch. Make use of the SW ready meals from Iceland too - I always have a couple in the freezer just in case.
Make sure that 1/3 of each meal is Speed as this is the real key to weight loss - the Speed stuff is what fills you whilst being low in calories and high in nutrients.
Make sure you eat enough to feel satisfied. The whole point of SW is that it doesn't deprive so you shouldn't feel hungry. I'm a grazer too, especially at my desk at work, so think about the kinds of things you can have in your situation. Muller lights are free and fill a hole, and another of my faves is to chop raw carrots into 'crisps' and munch on those from a bag.
Think about your Syns too. How many are already accounted for in the meals you've planned and hot drinks with sugar etc? For this reason I try to keep my meals free and drink fruit teas through the day instead of sugary coffee, which I'd much prefer!
Make sure you're eating stuff you enjoy!! I'm not a fan of most fruits for example, so I don't bother buying them anymore (took me a while to have that epiphany!) and only get the ones I know I will eat - apples and my beloved passion fruits basicallyIf you're not enjoying what you're eating and looking forward to each meal, then it isn't going to work as you'll resent the plan.
Most important thing to remember is: If you DO have a blip, let it be just that. The best analogy someone told me was: If your car got a flat tyre, would you then get out and slash the other three in anger? No, because it would make the situation worse. So if you have a bad day, don't turn it into seven bad days.
And stay accountable. Write everything you eat in your book, report in here each evening, keep going to group. There are loads of facebook groups and you can post your meals on Instagram and Twitter... Everyone's watching!! :rotfl:
Sorry that came out a bit long and rambly, but I hope not preachy, and I hope I haven't missed anything fundamentalGood luck!!
Thank you, that is really constructive! I don't have anything coming up now for a few weeks - well socially anyway, I'm busy at work and studying but as you say it's about planning ahead! I am sat making my lists now, just gone through my old books to make a shopping list - it's getting rid of the goodies so they don't tempt me and not having any in I think! Also, I think I need substitutes like you said - something to snack on.
Many thanks, I will keep reading your menus, I find it fascinating and gives me ideas! I will let you know how I get on X0 -

Hey all
Sorry I went quiet again, been snowed under with the TMA (assignment for all the non OU'ers) from hell. It's done and submitted now though and I am pleased to report normal service has resumed after a small gain last week (0.5lb) 3lb off this week despite chips, chocolate, Eggs Benedict and clotted cream shortbread at the weekendtwo more weigh ins until awards night and aiming for 1.5 stone by then. I weighed and went at a different group this week as I'm at the hospital today which means I can't make my usual group.
7 weeks- total loss 1 stone 2.5lbs. I have 4.5lbs to lose in two weeks *gulp* my lovely consultant said she will have the award ready to give me in two weeks- I hope I don't let her down!
The sausages are £1 by the way as they are being discontinued.
Hope you're all well X*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -

Well done to SOTW and other losers :T0 -
:T to kaz and candy and anyone else that's lost that I missed.
That's dreadful news!
At a quick glance I think they've added about 10 syns to a bottle of wine.

Omg - you're right, I hadn't had a proper look at it. DH turns his nose up at anything with less than 14% abv and that's now 9 syns for a 175ml glass, which is a 1/4 of a bottle.
Thing is though, you got to target using the old syn value so should you change your drinking habits?
LL
Eta ps - I don't believe wine is as calorific as they say. DH and I gave up drinking for a whole month, we didn't replace it with anything other than tea and coffee, and neither of us lost any weight, not an ounce!
I'm trying that experiment this month! if I get the same result as you I'll be sticking with it :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Wow, they do say necessity is the mother of invention! :rotfl:
Thanks all for the lovely feedback, now you need to give me a slap as I ate a whole tub of those Cadbury Amaze-Bites last nightI started feeling sick after number two and didn't even enjoy them, I just suddenly felt really down on my way home from seeing a friend and I needed to get milk, and there they were on offer. I think it's just pre-menstrual and I feel ok this morning, I just need to recognise it when it hits and have some sort of strategy in place to deal with it that doesn't involve food.
So I had a sneaky peek this morning and I am +2lbs thanks to the chocolate and meals out I've had this week - so much for minimising the damage by eating SP only the rest of the time (and I had been really good til yesterday!). Ah well, we'll see what the scales say in the morning.
Out for lunch today I think and have prawn stir fry planned for tonight (got a bumper whoopsie crop the other day including king prawns and a load of 2% fat turkey mince :money:)
Well done to all losers and good luck with the job Lush, it sounds brilliant!
