New Me - one of my friends went to SW for years but did Weightwatchers diet, I think she even won a woman of the year award or something :rotfl: I don't think the new WW plan is that much different to SW so it may be the same sort of thing if you swap over. Could you try a different SW group with a different consultant first?

Day 3 on plan for me and the sneaky scales show a loss:j proper weigh in tomorrow morning though *fingers crossed* OH is out tonight so danger zone for me, i eat when I'm on my own! I have my hair to dye so that should take up some time!

    EE menu for today
    B - banana
    L - pasta, pulled pork (1) cheese (0.5hea)
T - chicken based pizza (0.5 hea) SW chips, pickles, salad
L - apple, orange, milk (2) lentil waves (4.5) choc covered ginger (6)
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

New Me - Weigh in is supposed to be 30 minutes and the chat part an hour at most (including awards and raffles) so your consultant is over running if she's consistently taking two! But yes, that's the standard format when there's not a special event going on. Each group will have a different atmosphere though. Mine isn't one of those happy clappy ones, there's only clapping for the awards and any other noteworthy losses. But not for every single person regardless of their result like other groups. Which seems to annoy a lot of people, so not sure why they insist on it.

Could you get accountability through other means? I would have said a few years ago that group was definitely best, but I find Instagram much more motivating now. The only thing I'd really miss by not going to group (apart from people, but half of my friends have stopped going in the past month anyway) is getting the stickers. :rotfl: You could maybe try for a bit at home, then go back to group if it's not working? The maximum back fees you have to pay are two weeks plus the current week (so £15 total) and that's only if you want to keep your progress. Otherwise you can just rejoin as a new member, and there's constantly offers about for that.
  • Hello everyone, after failing miserably and falling off the wagon more times that I can count, (not even staying on for my wedding!) I am back... We recently found out we are having a baby so I really want to try and not put more weight on that I already will... the thought of putting on 3/4/5 stone horrifies me! After moving house just under a month ago, I no longer have an excuse not to be organised and plan a little better each week for meals etc.

Can someone please let me know the syns for the sunbite pitta bakes cheese?

    Thank you :)

I'm thinking of switching to another meeting type instead of SW. I really don't like the meeting format, it takes ages to get going, are all the meetings the same? We have:

Start time - queue to be weighed, and leader talks to new starters separately.
35-40 mins later, chat begins, and is mostly round the circle like this:
So you lost/gained X lbs (we all clap)
    how was your week?
another question or 2 on food/exercise
Are you all set for next week?
    Next person.

It takes about 2 hours and is slow and boring. I went to weight watchers years ago, and their meetings seemed a lot more streamlined, but I prefer the SW plan. It's ending up I don't stay for the meetings which seems a total waste. I could just weigh at home, but I'm not sure I'd be as focussed without the accountability of the "official" weigh in.

My pre-purchase has 2 weeks to go, so decision time soon.....any thoughts?

I've always found any group I've been to (SW & WW) the same type of format... I've only had one really good consultant and sadly she is too far away for me to join her group.

    Congratulations :)
I managed to stick to plan until I was 20 weeks then managed mostly good days. In my last 3/4 weeks I put on a fair bit and haven't managed to shift it again yet :( Really great that SW is really pregnancy/post partum friendly and a great start for baby :)

    Today:
breakfast: porridge and a banana plus a cup of tea
    mid morning: white coffee
lunch: tomato mug shot, 2 sliced pears and a free yogurt
tea: portion of lasagne to share with littlie at training.

major syn-age just happened though; multipack sized Twirl (slightly smaller than a standard bar) due to major stress caused by Thomas Cook all over trying to book our honeymoon :(

    Congratulations :)

For the Sunbites and all other crisp type things, you can use the 20 calorie rule. I think these are around 110 calories, so 5.5 syns.

Congratulations Psychobabble. Good idea to try to stay on plan whilst you're pregnant. We had a woman at group a couple of years ago who was the same weight after giving birth as she was prior to getting pregnant. She continued after the baby to go on to get to target weight, so can it can done.

Another EE day for me today:

B - scrambled eggs on toast (HEB); orange; grapes
L - ham, salad, beetroot, cornichons
    D - corned beef hash - 3.5 syns

HEA - milk in tea as usual.

Have been drinking loads of diet tonic today, which is a change from all the tea I usually drink!

Away in the motorhome again this weekend but will stick to plan as much as possible but have a buffet to go to Saturday night. I'm making a smoked salmon terrine to take so at least there'll be something SW friendly to eat!

Congratulations physcopathbabble! I originally joined my group in Dec 2014 before finding I was pregnant 3 weeks later! I lost 12lbs before my morning sickness prevented me from going anywhere to talk about food! I still kept loosely following the plan though. I put on about a stone in pregnancy and when I rejoined my group when baby was 6 weeks old I was exactly the same weight as I was at my lowest pre preg! It's a really easy plan to follow in pregnancy but if you're going to a group you're consultant will need you to get your midwife to sign off on your doing it. If you're not going to a group you may not know that you should increase your healthy extras to 2 each a day on EE.

    Congratulations psychpathbabble.
That's very wise to go for healthy eating while you're pregnant and it'll make it so much easier afterwards.

Sorry I missed your birthday yesterday greentiger. Hope you had a lovely day and you're DH was a star getting the cupcakes made for you. They're brilliant!:D

I think most groups are like yours newme. My consultant doesn't take quite so long over the so called Image Therapy but I think that's because she has another group after ours. We have loads of clapping though.:( Some consultants seem to have the skill and confidence to initiate proper discussion but mine doesn't. She just follows a script and trots out all the same questions every week. I suppose it depends how much you're prepared to pay for a weekly weigh in. You can just weigh and go (many people do), or turn up a bit later at the end of the WI and stay occasionally if you want to.

DH isn't having dinner tonight and so far I've managed a Green Day. If I'm hungry I might have some cheese or toast (or both!) later.

    Today's Green plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onions and pickles
D: egg, SW chips, mushrooms, beetroot
    Syns: maybe chocolate
