Good Morning everyone, an absolutely sparkly beautiful spring day here, better make the most of it as it's due to change for the BH weekend.

Lantanna, before being laid up I was really enjoying my exercise classes. I'd graduated to Hitt, Spin and Yoga. I am missing it terribly. I think I had managed to get to a level of fitness whereby although it was challenging it was strangely enjoyable. What is flat belly class? Is it your name for a type of Pilates? This I will need as I still have a "saddle bag," hope that's not too much information, but after a couple of kids and putting on weight the skin has been stretched and I wondered if there was anything you could do to improve the situation. It's no wonder people consider going under the knife.

Congrats Loupy, good result for you this week.

JD - get well soon, I can empathise.

NEW Me did you do a lot of walking in Dublin as Guiness is absolutely loaded with calories!
    Shala food prep sounds amazing!!!

Djenks - For us wine and gin fans, I know Maman and I and one or two others try and save the wine for "weekend wine syns," it really is a tricky one as for me it had become habitual ie having wine in the evening every evening. It will sabotage your weight loss journey, this might be one to consider.

Positive vibe this morning, up at 0630 looked outside my window to see three deer grazing in the field opposite - amazing!

  • Thanks for the chart Shala and well done Loupyluck!

Good session in the gym last night. Arkers I know what you mean about the "saddlebag". I've got no idea how I'm going to get rid of it. Most of my exercise is cardio based but I do pilates once a week. Not sure that that's enough toning work really.

    Menu today:

    B - overnight oats (heb)
    L - Subway chicken salad (2), Quavers (5)
D - chicken and bacon risotto (hea), ff greek yoghurt, raspberries
S - milky way crispy rolls (6.5), banana

Arkers, yes its a name I've given to a class lol. Its actually called CX Works. Its a half hour class which focuses on toning your core lots of planks and stretching with resistance bands etc. I used to go all the time, before I was laid up as such and really enjoyed it.

It does actually really really work, I can't wait to get back at it again and see some results.

Oh I'll never have a flat toned belly - its the worst part of me but I do now see and appreciate it was as good as I'm ever going to get it before I had to stop exercising etc.

I know if I work hard and keep my eye on the prize I can get it back. One good thing is I've now been where I want to be and will appreciate it more when I get there again instead of just looking for more flaws.

Arkers - I've had no children but with gaining and losing weight over the years the skin on my stomach is lumpy, bumpy and has a skin of an elephant look about it. Throw in some operation scars, stretch marks and a big lump of fat that broke through a weakness around my belly button.
Its never going to be a pretty sight lol.

However I try and get it smaller and be more toned so it doesn't flop about the way it does at the minute.

A tummy tuck is probably what I need but I'm not that bothered about it to endure the pain or put myself through an operation for vanity even if I had all the money in the world for it. :rotfl:

No one ever sees its anyway, thank goodness ! :rotfl: Focus on your best bits and make the best of and disguise the less good bits that's what I think.
  • Hello all - does anyone know how to go to the last posted message on the thread...I've not found it since they've updated the site.

Yeah - I love my wine...it's my only vice!! I don't like sweets or chocolate or cakes or biscuits....but I love me some wine!! (Nice crisp, cold glass of SB!!) so I've been doing this too - saving my syns for weekend wine.

    Food today:

B: porridge in almond milk with blueberries (HE a and b)
L: SW fry up with SW sausage, two fried eggs, 3 bacon medallions and 3 tomatoes
    S: FF yog and raspberries
D: thinking of one of the SW curries out of the book

(On a side note...that horrible tragedy with the family who went off the pier into the water in Donegal and all died were all from my home town...the whole town is in mourning :()

    Afternoon all

Gingerfurball - I was reading about that this morning, it's just beyond tragic! I can't even begin to imagine what the families are going through..

That's what I'm trying to do Lush, meal prep, please share if you find any nice recipes :D I've only tried a few chicken ones so far to see how it goes! I'd love to be one of those organised people you see on pinterest with their freezers full of HM ready meals :D

I can't wait to have a bit of cosmetic surgery, got to get rid of my turkey neck!! :rotfl: it hasn't arrived fully yet but my aunty has it so I know what's coming  Probably regret it when I'm in so much pain though :(

Second day on plan for me, EE
    B - banana, yogurt, granola(3)

T - pulled pork (2 for packet sauce :o) sweet potato, butterbud (0.5) salad, pickles

Football was brilliant here!! From the depths of despair to elation in 45 minutes!! And we were first on MOTD! :D .

I was a season ticket holder at Chelsea for 15 years, until I moved down south with my parents when my dad got a new job, so first and foremost I'm a Chelsea fan, but since I moved to Portsmouth I've got a season ticket at Fratton Park in the high heights of league two! I don't have the same hatred that some fans have for those up the road in Southampton, and I appreciate a good performance! Plus must say that Pelle makes my heart race a bit hahah!

In other news as well, my heart goes out to all those involved in the Brussells attacks, this morning. What an awful place this world can be x

Catching up on a few pages, so well done to the losers and Loupy for SOTW! :T

Probably well behind current conversation, but another leg hater over here. Is worse when I lose weight as I lose from the top down, so my ribs are sticking out but I still have cankles. :rotfl: Thankfully easy to hide under trousers as I'm not a skirt/dress person anyway!

Great losses ladies :T:T:T June you've lost 30lb across the last two challenges :j:j is that your total weight loss or did you lose more before you joined us? :T:T

Shala, I started mid-challenge so didn't sign up until the next one began, total loss is 3.5 stone. :D

Haven't quoted your other post, but I've done poached eggs in the microwave. The first few worked great and I was really excited as it was so much easier than in a pan, but the last one exploded as I cut into it. Haven't done that since! :(

Hello everyone, I started slimming-world again d.gif four weeks ago and haven't lost much. Its really starting to annoy me. I keep to plan drink water etc, but only losing 1/2 lb at a time or I stay the same. I have done slimming-world before and done well so what am I doing wrong cry_smile.gif My consultant had a look at my food diary and can't see anything wrong sad_smile.gif I wonder if I'm losing inches not pounds any help ladies much appreciated. Well done all From a very depressed Amanda.

Were you doing EE before, or the old red/green days? I have heard from a lot of people who've done the plan years ago that the new version doesn't work as well for them. I always seem to STS or even gain on EE, the extra sugar and carbs just don't work for me! I do SP and red, with the occasional EE day as a treat.

I am usually one of these annoying people but 90% of them are portions for littlie! They all used to be for me...this is where I will get back to asap!

Right now what I do it freeze meal components (so a tub of mash here, meat in gravy left over from a roast/Christmas/other big meal, portion veg up etc) then just grab a bunch but this doesn't work with OH at home more!

I plan to get some more freezer safe boxes and then batch cook myself chile etc (which OH won't eat) for the odd times he's away, free hot meals for work on busy/cold days etc and then also batch cook some of our favourites and freeze (cottage pie, lasagne, spag bol, savoury mince, chicken in creamy mushroom sauce etc) then I just need to do microwave rice/boil pasta etc for super quick meals :)

It's also been brought to my attention that Iceland now do frozen microwave rice which is free on SW - winner! I'm actually going back to Iceland as its more plan friendly (especially now with the SW labels everywhere!) and budget friendly ...plus less choices of naughtiness!

    Hi all,

So sorry to hear your news Mary Hinge and Hurdy Gurdy.

    Well done to SOTW

Well, finally reversing the upward trend -4.5 lbs and while not into the next stone bracket (3lbs to go) I am now on an 'overweight' rather than obese BMI - is it bad that I'm thrilled by that??? It's also 4.5 stone off since last August...

In saying all that, I'm away for what will be a boozy AI week 2 weeks from now which I'm sure will do some serious damage  but I'll deal with that when I get back. Got to go shopping next weekend for a wedding outfit and for the first time in years I'm not dreading the changing room shuffle. Don't get me wrong, there's no way anyone would call me svelte :rotfl: but the flab isn't embarrassing anymore IYSWIM.

As for the tummy flap - mine has been the noticeable part of losing, nearly gone that and the back fat plus my bra size is going down along with my shoe width.Odd :D Sadly the hips are still childbearing, the bum wouldn't look out of place on a cart horse and while the thighs are reduced there's no way I'm getting into a mini skirt any time soon!
