Maman - we were away in our motorhome based in Canterbury and you can get buses from there to all round the south coast and then back again. But I think it would be great to do it in B&Bs and then you wouldn't need to keep returning to base every day. I'm sure you could do similar in Hampshire (I think that's where you live!).

In fact you could probably work your way around England if you wanted to and had the time to do it!

Thanks for the feedback denise. I'm sure you're right about what's possible. I seem to remember a guy who did Land's end to John o'Groats but he needed special permission to use his bus pass in Scotland.

Good stuff, ruby and Loupyluck (twice).

    Hello, wuzzypoo.

Oh, HurdyGurdy, I am so sad for you and your friend. xxx
Also feel for you, mary. xxx

Sandhy, it is a VERY happy Friday! You can scrape me off the ceiling. Bairns 2-0 down to Rangers at half time tonight (could have been 5 or 6 and we’d have nothing to complain about) - and we won 3-2!!!!!!!!!!! Show me the way to Amarillo!

    Friday

Breakfast: hexb porridge madw with water & salt, bowl of raspberries with 0% fat Greek yogurt
Lunch: brown roll (6 ½ ), cooked ham, pickled cauliflower
Dinner: SW Italian chicken & tomato soup
Snack: Walkers French Fries at football (5), then brain scrambled by euphoria, so I had hexb toastie (I remembered too late that I’d already had hexb oops) with hexa cheese & red onion and grapes, to celebrate, so that’s another 6 syns. Who cares- it was worth it!

    17 ½ syns used
    Total saved = 21

Did I mention Falkirk beat Rangers?

    Hi All,

I'm here to ask you opinion as to whether it's worth it for me to join SW.

I'm quite overweight now. Was a size 8 and 10 at my biggest but I've stopped smoking and started having injections which induce the menopause so I've gained loads of weight and I'm pushing a size 16 now, which at 4 ft 10" makes me look even bigger. Ive never been very good with diets but I have heard that SW is very good and you don't feel like you're on a diet. The only thing for me is I'm a very very fussy eater. I'm vegetarian and also don't eat fish, but not vegan. I don't like spicy foods and not into Thai curries that sort of thing, basically I'm not very adventurous and quite frankly don't want to be. I also detest quorn mince with a passion. And some of the SW veggie meals are made with that stuff, so that's turned me off quite a lot.

What I'm asking is in your opinion is it worth me joining SW? I think I may have to do it online as the groups near me start before I've finished work.

A bit more info for you, I live on my own, I do need to do more exercise, but due medical conditions it hasn't always been possible. I don't know what other info I can give to help you to help me.

Anyway, hopefully some of you could give me your opinion on whether it's worth it based on your experiences with SW.

    Thanks,

    Wuzz

    Quick and easy YES!

Any weight loss will impact on your internal/external fat reserves.

Like you I have never been good at diets, they just seemed too complicated, and why should I miss out and be stuck eating green leaves and drinking green tea, when all I want to do was make a change for the long term!?

SW Online has been very helpful, and it's not rocket science either.
I will add that I bought most of the recipe books, then used the Syns Online and Syns calculator, plus a great sprinkling of help from this forum.
I also suffer from health conditions which impact heavily on my daily activity, also sport.

SW has been kind to me :) It can be kind to you too.

    That's brilliant!!:D Delighted for you:T.

Good to see you dropping by smedley. I've never been on any sort of diet before SW but and I don't think of it as one. To me it's just healthy eating with a few treats.

I've done my meal plan and when I've had my lunch I'm off to do my food shop. Strangely enough I get a lot of pleasure from stocking up on SW friendly food. Sad!;)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onions and beetroot
D: HB steak with onions and mushrooms, SW chips, something green (broccoli, mange tout, peas?)
Syns: squirt of syrup, weekend wine:)

    Hi all

We're eating out tonight with friends as its our last weekend here. So far today I've had lots of speed food and very little else - breakfast was strawberries, an orange and some natural yogurt, lunch was the remainder of the pea soup (onions, carrot, celery, aubergine and peas), more strawberries and a yogurt. Not sure what I'll have tonight but I'll stick to SW if I can.

We leave early Monday morning, we're staying in a hotel that night, then we're on the ferry for 24 hours from Tuesday morning and we'll be home by Wednesday afternoon so we've got 3 days that are hard to control food wise. Eating on the ferry will depend on how rough or smooth the crossing is, sometimes I've spent the whole trip in my cabin, hardly eating anything!

DH and I gave the car a good clean inside and out this morning, ready to pack it tomorrow, and I've cleaned out the fridge and hoovered and dusted everywhere - bit daft really, it will be just as dusty when we come back but I like to know it's clean when I leave. Tomorrow I'll be doing any last bits of washing and packing.

Well done Loupyluck for your loss and the new shiny :T.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend and enjoying the lovely weather I've heard you're having.

Bye for now (not sure how much longer I'll have internet for).

Forgot to post yesterday. I weighed in yesterday morning as I'm away for the weekend. -2lb this week. Not celebrating though. I was at a wedding yesterday, had hotel breakfast this morning, going for afternoon tea soon, then hotel dinner tonight and hotel breakfast in the morning :o Realistically overall it'll be a gain for the week, so I'm expecting to be up next week when I weigh in. Back on plan Monday morning to try and do some damage limitation!

Sorry to hear all the sad news on the board.

I've been a bit lazy this week with reporting in and generally staying on plan which is why I am a bit surprised to report a 1lb loss please shala

Off to Legoland on Thursday and Friday so need to do some work before then to counterbalance the excesses!

Joined my groups social team. I am hoping this will provide an extra level of motivation to keep going as it would not just be me I would be letting down!

2lb loss for me this week Shala, which means I got my 3.5 stone award! :j That takes me over my challenge target but not going to reset, think I'm due a few slower weeks as I've pulled big numbers recently and I don't want to stress out about it.

Need to sit down and sort out my meal plan, been feeling quite disorganised lately. This is mostly because DH's schedule has been so up in the air, so I haven't wanted to plan much. That should settle down now though, so want to get back on it. Hasn't affected staying on plan, but I just like being organised!

I'm glad you feel like that. I noticed that the consultant at this week's group has definitely put on weight since I last saw her and the person who does the weighing at my own group always had a ready excuse why she hasn't lost. She's given up now in that she comes and helps with weighing and then she leaves before Image Therapy. It's good that consultants have done SW themselves but they need to maintain or they're not very good adverts IMO.

Have a safe journey and enjoy your meal this evening lois.

Forgot to say that I called into our little Local shop (one of those that used to be Morrisons) last night for milk and had lots of 20p bargains like leeks, new potatoes, a tub of pineapple (eaten;)) and a head of celery. meg would be proud of me.:)
