Hi all, had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday. I was rushed and only had a mug shot for lunch, came home from work starving and had two slices of toast with Flora AND jam (it was so good!!). Then I went to run club and avoided the jammy dodgers, but then someone brought a birthday cake out and I had a piece, and then I came home and had a load of fruit pastilles I found in the cupboard! Ended the day on about 30 syns!
Another SP day today:
B - Alpen bars (B), passion fruits
D - !!!!-a-leekie soup (chicken, leeks, onion, carrot, stock)
T - 2x Fishspirations (1), stir fried courgette and mushrooms, soy sauce
Other - Coffee x4 (A,4), mint teas, another Alpen bar (3), hot choc x2 (4)
Total: 8
Weigh in tomorrow, but had a sneaky peek this morning and it doesn't look good - TOTM and haven't been to the loo since Monday (sorry if TMI!), just trying to take that into account and plod on.
PS Thanks for that link Lois, v useful!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
-0.5lb for me, Shala - could be better but could be a lot worse. Tried to curb my chocolate cravings today by having mini Smarties and a couple of hot chocolates but did have some of the new McVities dark chocolate biscuit bites, yum….. back on the straight and narrow tomorrow.
A massive well done dini on your weight loss and being debt free. I have around 4 years left to go on my current DMP but will shortly go down to statutory pay, which will slow things up no endstill, I've made a big dent in it which is great.
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
Hi All,
I'm here to ask you opinion as to whether it's worth it for me to join SW.
I'm quite overweight now. Was a size 8 and 10 at my biggest but I've stopped smoking and started having injections which induce the menopause so I've gained loads of weight and I'm pushing a size 16 now, which at 4 ft 10" makes me look even bigger. Ive never been very good with diets but I have heard that SW is very good and you don't feel like you're on a diet. The only thing for me is I'm a very very fussy eater. I'm vegetarian and also don't eat fish, but not vegan. I don't like spicy foods and not into Thai curries that sort of thing, basically I'm not very adventurous and quite frankly don't want to be. I also detest quorn mince with a passion. And some of the SW veggie meals are made with that stuff, so that's turned me off quite a lot.
What I'm asking is in your opinion is it worth me joining SW? I think I may have to do it online as the groups near me start before I've finished work.
A bit more info for you, I live on my own, I do need to do more exercise, but due medical conditions it hasn't always been possible. I don't know what other info I can give to help you to help me.
Anyway, hopefully some of you could give me your opinion on whether it's worth it based on your experiences with SW.
Thanks,
Wuzz0 -
Wuzz.
With SW you choose what to eat/cook.
So no need to eat what you don't like.
Concentrate on what you like.
Eat lots of fruit/veg.
If you can would advise you to go to a group at least once for new member talk and to get the books.
I could send you a set of books if you are really stuck.
Awake again at silly o'clock.
Not the best of weeks.

Shala - can you take me out of the challenge this time round please.
I have been off plan for at least a week, and cannot seem to motivate myself to get back on it. This is a common pattern for me - success, success, success and then I seem to have an overwhelming need to scupper my achievements. I don't know why I do it. I thought I'd broken the pattern with SW, but no. Here I am back in the doldrums.
And today I have had the devastating news that my friend's 12 year old daughter, who had a heart transplant recently, has lost her fight for life. I can't think of anything else at the moment.0 -
Thanks for the advice Beanielou. Think if I have to "report" in every week it might spur me on to keep on track rather than being left to my own devices which is probably where I've gone wrong in past. I'll try look for a group near where I work that might be better as if I go straight from work then it doesn't give me chance to get home and sit down as once I'm at home I don't want to go out again, I'd. I'm lazy! 0

Welcome wuzzypoo! It's definitely worth going to group - at least to start with. The new member talk can be helpful, although you can do it by yourself once you've got the books. Good idea to see if there's a group near to work - I'd have been the same if I'd gone to a group near home as once home I definitely didn't want to go out again. Not a problem now as I go to a morning group as I'm now retired.
Hurdy - sorry to hear your friends little girl has lost her fight for life. It's obviously going to be the only thing on your mind at the moment. My thoughts are with you. Keep strong.
It's another EE day for me today:
B - scrambled eggs on toast; grapes & strawberries
L - HM parsnip & green lentil soup - from freezer
D - HB braised steak & onions; mixed veg; mashed swede; mased potatoes
Probably some wine syns this evening.
